@MyOneAndOnly

Hi Paul,

Can NLP be used on children for confidence issues and if so what is the minimum age for it to be useful? Thanks.

Absolutely it can! As far as I'm aware, there is no minimum age.

PaulMcKenna · 12/01/2011 19:26

@NotOlive

Hello Paul

Many many years ago I was one of the people you tried to hypnotise on your stage show. It didn't work very well so I wasn't on stage for long but while I was there, you derided my appearance and compared me to Olive from On The Buses.

OK, so I wasn't the most glamorous girl around but that taunt and sense of humiliation in front of a packed theatre stayed with me on and off for years.

I know it was probably my fault for going up on stage anyway (egged on by a friend) but I just wanted to get that off my (still ample) chest.

I'm guessing you've moved on from those stage show cheap jibes anyway now. Thanks for listening.

Hi there

So sorry if I upset you in the past. As part of my show I always poked fun but only when I thought people could take it, because that was the nature of it. I don't do them any more. I hope you can forgive me and please come along to Hammersmith as my guest if you feel up to it.

God bless, Paul.

@YourCallIsImportant

Hi Paul, do you have any plans for seminars in Scotland?

None in Scotland I'm afraid. Only one seminar planned in the foreseeable future, and that's in London. Come as my guest.

Deafworm · 12/01/2011 19:27

tmi edward come join us on the paul mckenna 2011 thread, i have 6 stone to go, there are quite a few of us supporting each other

ktwiltshire · 12/01/2011 19:27

Hi paul

i have suffered with bulimia for all of my teenage years and (so far) all of my adult years. My Drs say they wont treat/help me until I am ready to make changes, but meanwhile im stuck in the middle.
I have started listening to ICMYT and wonder would your techniques for weight loss apply in my situation i.e. to help stop comfort eating, trigger foods etc etc?

Many Thanks
Katie

YourCallIsImportant · 12/01/2011 19:27

Thank you very much, I'd love to.

PaulMcKenna · 12/01/2011 19:28

@blinder

Paul - have you ever thought of doing a sex-help cd for women / men who have issues there. Obviously, psychology is at least half the battle with a successful sex-life.

You could call it 'I Can Make You Come'

It would be bought by the shed load. I'd be happy to give it a trial run for you. And a mere 10% of the profits as it is my idea. Grin

Yes, many years ago I made a video called Better Sex for Lovers. But it's not something I plan to do at the moment, although thank you for the idea about doing an updated version.

PaulMcKenna · 12/01/2011 19:29

@TmiEdward

Hi Paul,
I was always a "big" child, always the fattie in the class at school, I had friends but was often ridiculed. I spent my teen years feeling unworthy and even bouts of depression.
Diets just didn't work. Eating made me feel better.

Now I am 5 stone overweight, and still have issues with comfort eating.
And I look back at photos of that time and wonder what the hell was wrong with me? I wasn't that fat, I had a great complexion and fabulous tits. Why did I put up with the hell of playground taunts when I was fine?
And what can I do about it now?
Will ICMYT help me lose 5 stone?

Hi. I cannot guarantee that my thin system will work for you, it works for a lot of people and there's a much higher success rate than diets. However, I can't say absolutely but if you feel up to it please give it a go!

TessToo · 12/01/2011 19:29

Thank you for that Paul. I haven't heard of TFT before so I will look into that as well. Would be interesting to see if it is something that can help something as deepseated as child abuse (I use your confidence mp3 and that does help by the way). There seems to be a disconnect between my logical mind (things cannot hurt me) and my subconscious mind (everything's about to hurt me). Have a good evening! Tess

HowToLookGoodGlaikit · 12/01/2011 19:29

Very jealous of all those getting to go to the seminar! Please report back to us how it goes!

hi paul, does it matter when listening to the cd that i only have one working ear, how important is the left right bit you stress at the start?

PaulMcKenna · 12/01/2011 19:30

@Riven

Hi Paul, love your book 'I can make you thinner' but I struggle to find the time. I'm a carer with no sleep and it just keeps going to pot. Mainly through exhaustion - no time or energy for cooking just grab junk.
Oh, and if you know a way to help a 7 yo chld with quadriplegic cerebral palsy who is very highly strung sleep I will worship the ground you walk on! Am desperate.

I'm really sorry to hear about your situation, sometimes I know it must be difficult to find time. However, if you find time for yourself, then not only is it possible for you to change your life but also for you to be a greater of source of help and inspiration to those around you.

If you can find time, come to the seminars as my guest.

MirandaGoshawk · 12/01/2011 19:30

"So pleased to hear about your success, when you have trouble sticking to it, use the CD. With regard to claustrophobia, there is download on the website, paulmckenna.com"

Wow, I'm very impressed that you answered my question. Thanks!

nevergoogledragonbutter · 12/01/2011 19:30

Paul, My problem is not getting to sleep (although i do suffer from insomnia in times of stress) but my problem is waking up!
It takes me about an hour to wake up after my alarm goes off.
What can i do?

Paul, what happens at your seminar? Ive just realised I have no idea Blush

whomovedmychocolate · 12/01/2011 19:31

Riven I used PM's Sleep CD on DS when he was a year old and it worked Shock Grin

Although perhaps his voice was more calm than me yelling 'for the love of all that's holy go to sleeeeeep ' Grin

lililolo · 12/01/2011 19:32

I've just started doing the icmyt CDs and so far I haven't weighed myself which is a miracle in itself. My problem is just that I only get the chance to listen to the cd after the kids are in bed and I always fall asleep. Does that make a difference? I have about 5 stone to get rid of so can't afford to make any mistakes. Am very detirmined to do it for good this time!

@Deafworm

hi paul, does it matter when listening to the cd that i only have one working ear, how important is the left right bit you stress at the start?

It can still absolutely work for you. Even though one ear works, you still have a whole brain which is the important thing. And so, the left right brain split was because I wanted my work to be more sophisticated but it's not essential to successful.

Indeed, we've had completely deaf at the seminars who have found that the system has worked for them.

PaulMcKenna · 12/01/2011 19:33

@TessToo

I recommend Kevin Laye, Tina Taylor or Steve Crabb.

MyOneAndOnly · 12/01/2011 19:34

Thanks for replying to my question about NLP for children . I had contacted a Cofidence Coach about my very quiet / very sensitive daughter last year when she was 4 years old, that coach ( who is based in Bath, I think )has your photos on his website and refers himself as being trained by yourself. Anyway he also suggested Acupressure for confidence issues for children above the age of 6. We didnt go to him in the end. Anyone in London that you can suggest for that type of work for my child who is now 5 - 6 yrs old. Many thanks.

Deafworm · 12/01/2011 19:35

thanks paul thats great news, i was a little concerned.

can i just also ask why is there the warning about epilepsy, my middle child has epilepsy and i worry about listening if she is around (sorry for being greedy last question honest!) thank you

NotOlive · 12/01/2011 19:35

Many thanks for taking the time to respond to my (more controversial) post. It means a lot to me as I was quite Sad and Angry at the time.

Yes, I would love to come along. If any other Mnetters are there, you'll easily recognise me as I've piled on the pounds and look even more like Olive now than I did 20 years ago Wink.

Thanks again.
