We are thrilled to announce that comedian, writer and actor Dawn French will be joining us here at the Towers on Wednesday 3 November, from 7.30pm to 8.30pm for a live webchat.
Dawn has appeared in some of the country's most long-running, fave shows including French and Saunders, The Comic Strip Presents?, Vicar of Dibley and most recently, Roger and Val Have Just Got In.
On top of her screen achievements, Dawn's memoir, Dear Fatty, topped the best-selling charts and now her first novel, A Tiny Bit Marvellous, is out and it's more than a tiny bit marvellous that she's joining us for a webchat. Hope you can too, but if you're unable to make it on Wednesday, post your questions here.

@vinvinoveritas

If I buy 20 of your latest book and supply many wagon wheels will you stay at MNHQ all week please? You are by far the best webchat guest we have ever had - who needs David Cameron? Dawn for PM!

I agree, who needs David Cameron? Why don't you buy the 20 copies anyway and see.

jonicomelately · 03/11/2010 20:29

Me too ShirleyGunpowderPlot!

ShirleyGunpowderPlot · 03/11/2010 20:29

ginodacampoismydh · 03/11/2010 20:29

if you are real life mneter what do you think about feeding dcs gregs for lunch every day?

LelloLorry · 03/11/2010 20:29

What do you mean 'make an excellent panelist, a la Jo Brand'?
I always thought JB was a awful panelist.
But that's maybe cause I prefer male comedians, no idea why Confused.
Comedy shows are more about the one liners though, aren't they?
Jo Brand's a bit more of a storyteller iykwim.
Hope I'm not confusing her with someone else.

@ShirleyGunpowderPlot

I love Sue Perkins as well...

Yes, so do I, more than you do!

Thanks Dawn! I will buy 20 copies, turn up at the old vic as I live nearby, and force you to sign them for charity Grin

Best of all, no running involved!

kuckingfunt · 03/11/2010 20:30

Dawn

Oh gawd I love you!

Just how big are your boobs? My DP adores them and I am very envious!!

Love your book, infact I am buying it for my mum for Christmas, surely you can make the miserable cow smile Grin

SalFresco · 03/11/2010 20:30

mardybra what I do with nasty comments - especially ones couched as jokes as my MIL does - is look confused and say, I'm sorry...I don't get it..." Nothing takes the wind out of a nasty persons sails quite like having to explain their bitchy comment. They look really silly, and you retain moral high ground.

ILikeToMoveItMoveIt · 03/11/2010 20:30

traceybath - I remember that sketch. The old horsey ladies 'it's a load of bloody stuff and nonsense'. My friends and I would always reenact the sketches the next day at school.

This web chat has made me realise how much Dawn and Jennifer have been in my life Smile

Also I remember a sketch where Jennifer is in the playground with a hat and mitten on, eating a HUGE wagon wheel. Then Dawn is slowly inching towards her eyeing up the wagon wheel, then just as Dawn is about to launch herself at it Jennifer stuffs it down. I'm guessing the wagon wheel wasn't a coincidence? Grin

MTTomb · 03/11/2010 20:31

Call Of Duty?? maybe

NoahAndTheWhale · 03/11/2010 20:31

I am not keen on Wagon Wheels. Dairy milk all the way for me.

DawnFrench · 03/11/2010 20:31

@MardyBra

Hello Dawn. My MIL made a sneaky sarcastic comment about my weight last week. Do you have any good putdowns for people who don't appreciate the curves?

'I can always lose weight if I wish, however you cannot gain brain cells'.

TaudrieTattoo · 03/11/2010 20:31

"Ouch" is a good response to a nasty comment.

Never had the guts to try it, though.
