drug dependant baby, advice needed

EarthMotherImNot · 03/03/2010 15:20

I've been asked to foster a baby expected to be suffering drug withdrawal when it is born next week.

It is years since I've cared for one of these and any advice would be most gratefully received.

Found this in classics and read from start to finish. The tragic outcome was not expected, so say the least. RIP Emin, you selfless, loving, amazing woman.

Read the thread after recently applying to become a foster carer, I am truly humbled Sad what an incredible person you were, your legacy lives on through your amazing work, and wonderful family. Thank you so much for your selflessness and may you be in a wonderful place now xxxx

Genuinely didn't know what to expect when I opened this thread, but was so taken with EMIN telling her story that I read it from start to finish. I shed a couple of silent tears a few times, then just found myself bawling as soon as Ladybird left... I was in utter shock to read that such a wonderful, caring, selfless woman was taken so cruelly. RIP EMIN. The world is a better place because if people like you.Star

This thread is inspirational. EMIN you were an amazing woman. I hope you are at peace and that somewhere Ladybird is happy and well and enjoying life because of the start you gave her. xx

I've just finished reading it too. What a lovely selfless kind person she was. I wonder how that little baby is. She is five now. Hope she is happy and healthy

Goodness, every now and again this gets bumped and every time I just have to say what a wonderful woman EMIN was and how her actions will have made such a difference to so many lives that are still going strong out there somewhere.

You will be remembered fondly by many Flowers

KensingtonRose · 08/06/2015 06:14

I started reading this thread before I went to bed and it kept me company during the night and while I fed my little one.

I wonder how the little girl is now, she must be around 5, and reaping the benefits of the incredible care EMIN and her husband gave her when she was tiny.

It's made me cuddle my baby that bit tighter this morning and be so grateful for all we have.

Fairly new to MN. Very new to MNclassics. What a truly inspirational story. You truly were a beautiful soul EMIN. Because of you and your DH, Ladybird and so many other children and families got a better start in life. You made such a difference to so many lives and you were so humble in doing so.

You really have inspired me and, no doubt so many others. RIP EMIN. This thread genuinely moved me and I will never forget it

This is a thread that deserves to come back from Zombieland from time to time just to remind us all how wonderful MN can be. I read it with tears streaming way back and have just been reminded once again.

The Jeffreys will never beat us.

Ive just ready through this and cried my eyes out to hear Emin has passed away

Strokethefurrywall · 13/10/2015 22:13

Amazing thread. Absolutely amazing.

What a woman. What a family. I know it's been a few years since EMIN passed but the grief doesn't leave, you just learn to live with it and I've no doubt this is the case for them.

I'm very glad that this thread is in classics and is serving to keep EMIN's memory alive. And I really hope her family continue to be comforted by this.

Thanks
