A plate has fallen down the back of the loo - how can I get it out?

And not just any plate - this is a plate painted by ME for dd's hair bands! I did it when she was painting a mug for dh- the man was so impressed he put it in the window. [preen]

It's annoying.

Now the cistern of the loo is built into a tongue and groove type wall affair, and can only be accessed from the top. The plate has fallen down, below the cistern, onto the floor below.

I can't reach it, nobody can reach it.

Any ideas?

I have deep concerns re the superglue. They didn't get that kid out by dropping a curtain doused with hard-as-nails did they?

but think of that guy on a chair stuck to the wall, worked for him!

iirc the kid was rescued by someone tunneling in from a sideways projection, so the trained guineapig idea shouldn't be shelved quite yet imvho.

well it's not going to come off again... it can be a hair bobble plate + commemorative fabric marker of it's MN hair raising experience down the back of the bog.

Could you winch the guinea pig down wearing a harness? And a helmet with a lamp on the front?

I have chickens if that helps.

Can i just check something...

the plate was displayed in the FRONT window as dh thought it was so wonderful.
Yet it was above/behind the loo, so the loo window is the front window?
Is it frosted?
Just wondering if indeed DH was paying a compliment or rather effectively hiding said booble pate from view....

Bugger.

No super glue. The only thing I can find is some quick dry adhesive which prides itself on on its 'precise application'. I don't think it'll work.

i feel so sorry for this plate. And it was so purittee too.

I did come across some parcel tape in my search for the glue, and wondered if it would work, and was standing on the loo, rolling parcel tape down - it was getting stuck on the sides and not dropping properly - and ds1 came in and said 'is this for dad's birthday?'

lol. What DID he mean?

thinking about the guineapig, they don't splay their legs very well do they, to get a good grip?

no, you need to send the guinea pig up through the floor underneath, with a superglue soaked sponge ontop of its helmet.

hmmmm then how to get the GP with plate attached OUT.

this plan needs more thought.....

Oh no screaming - it was on the window sill in the loo, and hair bobbles are supposed to be kept in it.

The man who runs the paint your pottery place put it in HIS windows because I spent money was an inspiration to his other customers.
