A plate has fallen down the back of the loo - how can I get it out?

And not just any plate - this is a plate painted by ME for dd's hair bands! I did it when she was painting a mug for dh- the man was so impressed he put it in the window. [preen]

It's annoying.

Now the cistern of the loo is built into a tongue and groove type wall affair, and can only be accessed from the top. The plate has fallen down, below the cistern, onto the floor below.

I can't reach it, nobody can reach it.

Any ideas?

Perhaps she is still performing a marathon medley of sexual favours....... to demonstrate her gratitude.

Still not back WOW she must be grateful!

Yay I was finally on a thread that made it onto the Roundup, but Boo despite making several amusing suggestions didn't get quoted (I thought the luring the fireman with kitten/plate confusion might make it )

(Also a huge the only time I can think of a tip there is no tip competition, but at least it's on the home page Yay!)

Oh Rusty, I love your poem. I love it so much I am going to type it up and hang it in the downstairs loo - as a warning for me, the hair booble plate, dd and anyone else who tries to fix the loo handle.

Tis marvellous.

The plate is in the kitchen, full of hair boobles. I am still thinking about where to keep it.

oh rusty - that is wonderful!

ahundred - I'm flattered.

I'm also glad I cleaned it up slightly - originally I put 'Now go and get my sodding tea' instead of 'Just go and get a cup of tea' but I thought that detracted slghtly from the heroic image of your DH & also was probaby not suitable for your DD to read....

Oh, and on reflection I think you need an extra syllable in line 59 "So inch by inch, the platter comes"

Actually, there are probably lots of places it could be improved....

Wow!
To think I hadn't heard of mumsnet back then, and the whole plate down the loo saga was going on and I was living a life of total ignorance!
I feel like I went to sleep and missed the moon landing or something!

New idea for comedy trolling - start a new thread saying the exact same things and see what responses you get!

Oh, I remember this, I burnt dinner as I was unable to walk away, dp came home to me crying at the pc and a nasty smell of smoke.

He thought something awful had happenedGrin
