It's Platinum Jubilee weekend for the Playmobil people in our house...

... and so I'm bringing you four days of celebrations in Playmoland. Today is King Athelstan's birthday parade. The route has been lined with bunting.

King Athelstan and Queen Edith are greeted by the Archbishop.

The congregation awaits the entrance of the King and Queen.

As the King and Queen enter the cathedral a fanfare sounds!

The Royal family is led down the aisle by the Archbishop.

The King and Queen are shown to their seats at the front of the congregation.

The Archbishop of Ruggington welcomes everyone to the service.

The Dean of Lowbeach leads the prayers.

A reading is given by Prime Minister Norman the Foreman.

The Bishop of Highbath gives a rousing sermon.

The singing is led by the Waterbury Singers (sadly Playmobil don't have any robed choristers!).

The Archbishop of Paddleford concludes the service.

At the end of the service, the Archbishop of Ruggington leads the Royal family out of the cathedral.

The cathedral looks stunning. Hats off to the unsung volunteers who keep it gleaming. Loving the stained glass, I am very fond of a bit of stained glass.

Thank you all! The clergy were gathered from several sets. The Dean of Lowbeach came with the church Ruggington Cathedral which we bought in 2011 for the first Royal wedding.

The two Archbishops are from Christmas sets (they are supposed to be St Nicholas but thought they make lovely Archbishops!).

The Bishop of Highbath is actually one of the 3 wise men from another Christmas set.

A fainting guard would be rather good actually! Of course a paramedic would be on hand to swiftly offer assistance, and no harm done since plastic is very durable.

I'm afraid I couldn't fit any guards inside the cathedral!
