It's Platinum Jubilee weekend for the Playmobil people in our house...

... and so I'm bringing you four days of celebrations in Playmoland. Today is King Athelstan's birthday parade. The route has been lined with bunting.

Now there are representatives of key workers from all walks of life. First the fire service (Vanessa and Victor) and the police (Grace and Rajeev).

Leanne the nurse, Ruth the doctor, Dominic from the air ambulance, Neville the paramedic and Harold from search and rescue.

Seth and Roger the coastguards, Brett and Clive from the lifeboat service and lifeguards Kylie and Kobi.

Melanie and Maurice from mountain rescue, Martin and Alex who are dock workers, and train drivers Reg and Arnold.

Farmers Tegwen and Mansel, vet Teresa, plumber Patrick, and postal workers Ben and Beverley.

Teachers Rob and Eve and bin men Jake and Lester.

Matthew the pharmacist, Rupert from the bank, Leslie the grocery delivery man, Irving the butcher and Christopher the baker.

Next are international friends. Priya, Tyrone,

Oops, pressed post too soon! Priya, Tyrone, Naoko, Galilani, José and Alynda.

Sequoyah, Gretchen, Xenia and Fernanda.

Sam, Kiya, Alireza, Margarita and Gottfried.

Next are some children waving flags, to represent the future.

And here comes the drum and bugle band.

They are joined by the Waterbury singers to lead everyone in the national anthem. What a joyous end to the pageant.

Was there no military segment with commonwealth countries because King Athelstan has granted sovereignty to all lands Playmoland had colonised?

Thank you all! I've just had a nice evening out with @petalpower at a quiz. The little flags we made back in 2011 for the wedding of the Duke and Duchess of Ruggington. I'm afraid I haven't managed to write an actual national anthem for Playmoland, so you will just have to imagine it!
