Mine is equal measures of buttermilk and mayo, and then double of Greek yogurt, half the juice of one lemon, two tbsp of dried Parmesan, a teaspoon of dill, garlic granules, Maldon seat salt, onion powder, and cracked black pepper.

Makes that amazing ranch dressing you get on the side of fried shit in America and is great for pizza crusts but you can also make kids eat ANYTHING dipped in it.

I’ve watched my kids enthusiastically eat celery, radishes and green peppers which aren’t normally things they will eat raw.

Following for inspiration Grin

Burger sauce:
Equal parts ketchup, mayonnaise and yellow mustard. Mix it up with a finely diced gherkin. Very pleasant

I work in a kitchen and everyone loves my sausage rolls and they are ridiculously simple!

Butchers sausage meat (this is good quality) with sage and onion stuffing mix

Make a huge sausage roll on puff pastry cut individual slices

I make it quite thick and egg wash top and sprinkle with herbs and the finer crumbs from the sage and onion stuffing 🙂

Edel2019 · 19/10/2020 22:07

Fab idea for a thread OP ☺️😍

MaverickDanger · 19/10/2020 22:09

Very similar to @Stella8686 but I mix the sausage meat with marmalade.

Gives it a tangy, slightly sticky flavour.

SquirrelFan · 19/10/2020 22:23

Oh, I was really excited to see this thread...must go to bed now, but I look forward to more responses tomorrow!

I don't have any "secret" recipes.

My brownies are notorious as are my peanut butter biscuits and I often get asked for the recipe for both. I’ll give you the latter Grin

260g crunchy peanut butter
220g caster sugar
1 egg

Mix, form into balls, squash lightly with a fork. Bake at 170 for 10. Do not touch till they’re cool.

My butter bean hummus is also pretty epic but I do it by eye and the beauty is it’s never the same twice.

5SecondRuleJr · 19/10/2020 22:30

My buttermilk biscuits - I grate in frozen butter for extra fluff

Pepperwand · 19/10/2020 22:40

Bean dip which is just two tins of refried beans, one tub of cream cheese, one tub of sour cream and some taco/fajita seasoning. Mix together, cover with grated cheese and bake until it's bubbling. Use it warm as a dip for tortilla chips and try not to have a heart attack after eating it Wink.

Noconceptofnormal · 19/10/2020 22:44

A couple of cubes of dark chocolate in a chilli is enough for people to ask me the recipe.

CoRhona · 19/10/2020 22:47

Mary Berry's fork biscuits. Well, they are her recipe really...

Do you make the stuffing mix first or use it dry?

I'm making sausage rolls tomorrow for Bake Off and I'm going to try your recipe.

Covidcovidcovid · 19/10/2020 22:51

Following for inspo! I can cook but don't think I make anything out of the ordinary 😂

Marking place for when I'm not fasting and won't drool on the screen Grin

RuggerHug · 19/10/2020 22:55

Baking is unsalted butter, anything cooking, double the amount of butter suggested and it MUST be salted, proper butter. You're welcome.

Blackdog19 · 19/10/2020 22:56

Yes, same question here. Stuffing mix straight out of packet or made up first?

allthegoodusernameshavegone · 19/10/2020 22:58

Anyone got anything Delicious & zero points

MairzyDoats · 19/10/2020 23:01

Homemade garlic bread - blitz the garlic butter with cheddar and sun-dried tomatoes and black olives. Everyone wants the recipe.

ShirleyPhallus · 19/10/2020 23:02

Eggless microwave cake is amazing

Basically just sugar, cocoa powder, flour, oil and milk, wazz it in a cup in the microwave and then consume

Perfect for those greedy moments where you have no proper pudding in the house and also no butter or eggs

Can add chocolate chips / spoon of peanut butter / chopped pecans depending on how fancy you want to get

Cismyfatarse1 · 19/10/2020 23:07

Cheat's creme brûlée?

A tub of posh supermarket custard from the chilled cabinet mixed with a tub of full fat Greek yoghurt.

Put in ramekins with white sugar on top and grill or use flame thrower thingy.

Never been spotted as a fake and much loved by all (including in a restaurant I worked in.)

Mintlegs · 19/10/2020 23:10

Ooh, this sounds good. Sorry no recipes!

I remember this! This was in one of the pre-teen magazines in the 90s, right?! I can't remember anything except the recipe and the fact it was all about Take That, and my friend and I read it while playing with her guinea pigs. We would have been 10/11 and it would have been summer of 1994/95.

I can't think of any secret recipes of my own, but I will rack my brains.

SynchroSwimmer · 19/10/2020 23:14

Tiramisu - easy, mix a tub of best fresh custard from the chiller with a tub of mascarpone. Place on top of any sponge cake soaked in strong coffee and a bit of alcohol. M&S giant chock buttons on the top.
