Tina's chestnut stuffing and other secret and not so secret recipes

Mine is equal measures of buttermilk and mayo, and then double of Greek yogurt, half the juice of one lemon, two tbsp of dried Parmesan, a teaspoon of dill, garlic granules, Maldon seat salt, onion powder, and cracked black pepper.

Makes that amazing ranch dressing you get on the side of fried shit in America and is great for pizza crusts but you can also make kids eat ANYTHING dipped in it.

I’ve watched my kids enthusiastically eat celery, radishes and green peppers which aren’t normally things they will eat raw.

Sultanas packed into jars, with leftover brandy or rum poured in to cover them. Store for a few months. Serve with ice cream , a tablespoon at a time.

@steppemum

well, my friend has just given me her family's secret brownie recipe.

They are AMAZING, and a whole tin just gets inhaled by my kids.

But I've promised to guard it with my life and not tell.....

Bet it's not as nice as my secret brownie recipe 😂

Guarding so called "secret" recipes has always struck me a extremely selfish.

My secret brownie recipe is the one in Delia Smith's big book (she's wearing a red jumper on the front of mine).

I leave out the 4oz chopped nuts & replace with 4oz chopped milk chocolate.

The idea came from making them for DS to take into school & I knew one of his friends was allergic to nuts.

Absolutely delicious!

Sweat off some onion, garlic (purée fine) and a chopped carrot or two in some olive oil.
Add a ton or tomatoes (or passata) and the same of water.
Add salt, sugar, oregano or whatever herb you like with tomatoes.
Simmer until carrot done.
Add a tin or spaghetti or spaghetti hoops in tom sauce. Summer for another 5-10 mins.
Blend. Add some water / milk /cream if too thick or you fancy a creamier soup.

I serve with ‘cheesy wraps’ which are wraps done in a dry pan with cheese between until it melts. Yet to find a child who won’t eat it!
