Mine is equal measures of buttermilk and mayo, and then double of Greek yogurt, half the juice of one lemon, two tbsp of dried Parmesan, a teaspoon of dill, garlic granules, Maldon seat salt, onion powder, and cracked black pepper.

Makes that amazing ranch dressing you get on the side of fried shit in America and is great for pizza crusts but you can also make kids eat ANYTHING dipped in it.

I’ve watched my kids enthusiastically eat celery, radishes and green peppers which aren’t normally things they will eat raw.

Goo! Not that slightly sticky kind, the hard core chewy delicious hard when put in the fridge kind!
1/2 pack of butter
Bag of dairy toffees (unwrapped obvs)
Bag of marshmallows
Whole box of rice crispies

Toffee in microwave 1min
Add butter and marshmallow 1min
Then put back and stir every 30 seconds till all mixed in and melted, (about 4 mins total) add all rice crispies, put in buttered baking tray, squash down. Voila! The best crispy cake you’ll ever eat!

I got it from an Australian cook book but I’m sure you’re right Sarah, sounds likely! They’re gluten free so a winner with my coeliac friend and I make them by the ton for bake sales.

No one can believe how simple they are. DH has banned me from making them for a while as he’s wfh for the foreseeable and can inhale them.

Oh ... well, I expect actually the magazine got it from the cookbook. What a shame, I was quite excited about that as I'd forgotten making them until you mentioned. I must make them again and see if they were as good as I remember.

One of those orange cake mix boxes, but instead of water use orange juice, and instead of oil use an egg.

Love this thread.

Dont have much myself, only if your curry / stew/ soup is a bit insipid add a good knob of butter and salt

I do a lot of butter adding.

Freeze cream in ice cubes & add to soups, stews. Kids love it.

This makes a very messy meal but is bloody lovely...

Chilli and garlic crispy salmon

Melt a LOT of butter in a wok and then add in a good heated teaspoon of garlic and fresh chopped chilli

Fry that for a little while and then add in chopped up salmon fillets and stir fry until it's really crispy and almost verging I'm burnt.

Serve with steaming hot Thai jasmine rice and then repent as your arteries will be screwed.

It's delicious and really simple.

My bbq chicken is loved.
Chicken breasts which you criss cross slice deeply into the breast but leaving whole.

50ml of olive oil
100 ml of low any ketchup
50 grams of jerk seasoning.

Mix, marinade the chicken, BBQ.

Gorgeous sliced into tortias with loads of salad, sour cream and grated cheese.

The breast is beautifully moist.

Marry berry’s sausagemeat lasagne, which I was told about on mumsnet. Hope it counts. Makes every day a good day for DH.

A colleague makes this but in the biscuit base uses grape nuts. Interesting variation.

The Ivy's frozen berries with hot white chocolate sauce - easiest impressive pudding ever!

You basically melt together equal quantities of white chocolate and double cream, then serve by pouring over (unthawed!) frozen berries. The sharp and the sweet, the hot and the cold, it's amazing!

Turkish chicken traybake - this was a recipe from a magazine, and never fails

You need a tub of Greek yoghurt, chicken, courgettes, garlic, a couple of peppers, an onion, a tub of passata, tomato purée, feta cheese, and this www.chileseeds.co.uk/shop/kirmizi-biber-2/

Pop the yoghurt in a big bowl
Add two chopped garlic cloves, and a teaspoon of the chilli pepper, a glug of tomato purée, and your chicken - I use a breast per person, but you could use any cut
Mix it all up, and stick it in the fridge for at least an hour
Chop your veg and stick it in a baking tray. Layer the yoghurt/chicken on top. Add the passata over it, and a half glass of water, then a glug of olive oil - shake it all up
Stick it in the oven for 30 minutes, then take it out and crumble feta cheese over it
Put it back in for ten minutes, then serve with crusty bread. You could add olives too, my my DP hates them!

Doner kebabs that taste (and smell) totally authentic...
Pack of minced lamb, tbsp cumin, tbsp coriander, 1 tsp each of garlic, onion powder, chilli powder. Blitz in mixer till smooth, shape into roll, wrap in foil and bake 30 mins. Cool, then slice thinly and put in fridge. When ready to eat, fry the slices briefly to heat and add a little colour, before serving with pittas and salad.

Hot cheese dip - mix together 1 pkg of cream cheese, one jar of salsa and about 2 cups (or more) of grated cheese. I usually use cheddar but it could be whatever you have on hand. Bake it in the oven until it's hot, about a half hour. It is also delicious stuffed into jalapeno peppers and baked or spread on toast the morning after the party Smile
