My child has a badge that sees ghosts?

Lighthearted!

DS 4, has a badge he calls “birdie friend.” I may post a photo later! It’s a badge with a bird on.

Birdie Friend seems to have the gift of the “sight!” “Birdie Friend says Bob and Rose are here mummy, they like to have tea with us. Bob and Rose are DH’s grandparents who died many years ago.

“Birdie Friend says the men who lived upstairs looked like you mummy when their faces burned off.” We used to live in a former military hospital and I had a sheet mash on my face! The ward upstairs had indeed been a burns/plastics ward!

“Mummy, Birdie Friend says the end is coming soon.”

😂😱😨

Scatterlit the point about jumping the shark was supposed to be that - like a TV show - most of us know it's made up but can quietly enjoy it nonetheless. After the proverbial shark is jumped, it's too difficult to play along. Shame, it's been a hoot Grin

PhilomenaChristmasPie · 21/01/2020 13:16

My nn on here used to be EvilDoctorBallerinaDuck which was a creature that DD could see in the rag rolling on our bedroom wall. Xmas Grin

hellcarryingahandbag · 21/01/2020 13:30

I’m going to peck you to death, and then share your remains with the ghosts!! See you soon, and so will my beak!

Aww shame it went to far! I was enjoying reading along (although not sure I really believed in an evil badge with a birds face on).
Never mind, was fun while it lasted

PhilomenaChristmasPie · 21/01/2020 13:38

This thread has got me in the mood to play some FNAF Special Delivery! Xmas Grin

MostIneptThatEverStepped · 21/01/2020 13:39

True or not, this has been an absolutely gripping thread and I have thoroughly enjoyed it.

Two nights ago I read a load of updates on this thread just before bed, alone in the house and had sleep paralysis for the first time in years! Mine usually takes the form of knowing there are people approaching to do me harm, feeling like someone is pulling me or my clothes but I can't move or call for help. Not ghostly but frightening just the same!

QuimReaper · 21/01/2020 13:43

Taking you on face value OP...

Did you really really get a chaplain to come over to bless a child's badge?

I'm in Australia and can never get the image of the "old hag" that sits on you, out of my head. Saw it on a documentary called the entity I believe and I hope she never comes to visit me 🤣🙈

iklboo · 21/01/2020 13:47

True or not this has been a fun and interesting thread with people's real experiences that may have been true, a fever dream, overactive imagination, whatever. If you don't think it's meant in the spirit (sorry) it was intended please don't troll hunt - just move on. No Scooby Gang on this thread, please Grin.

As I understand it, and I’m no way an expert, just learning like every one else and again I think it’s important to understand what resonates with you is all that matters. There’s no right or wrong answers...it’s your own personal experience.

Anyway as it was explained to me when a lost soul is earthbound..they are stuck here..a bit of a miserable, grey experience.
For what reason at their point of passing over they got stuck. Did they lose their faith, was their passing as a result of a trauma situation and they were in shock and left in limbo, were they worried about some sort of retribution for their deeds on the earth plane, could they just not bear to leave loved ones...or maybe other reasons.

A lost soul permanently in your home can just drain your energy away like water dripping on a stone.
However once In The light , they can visit from time to time which is often why gifted people can see little glimpses, or wake up and see someone sat at the end of their bed..like my grandma did just before she died...said it was her mother..
Or you might smell someone who has passed over ..their favourite perfume...or maybe cigar smoke or cigarette smoke.

When you think about it..we are just talking about energy
What’s that saying about energy ..it can’t be destroyed.

A very interesting book is Lorna Byrnes angels in your hair. We had a book sale at one of our meetings and I bought it.
It’s very interesting at the depth to which she feels she can see heavenly bodies...so much so that she was treated like she was really stupid at school and by most of her family.

I think whatever gift I might have had as a child was rubbished out of me. As an only child I hated to go to bed..I’d come rushing down the stairs.shouting .mam, mam there’s a ghost in my room
My mam would just pooh pooh it..never offered any explanations...so I just remained a frightened little girl..scared of the dark
I never saw or heard anything. I think Then I was more Clair sentient which I think for the most part has gone now.

Sagradafamiliar · 21/01/2020 14:17

Most I thought I'd end up having an episode of sleep paralysis last night. I've been having 'exploding head syndrome' lately and the two usually go hand in hand. Seriously, if there was anything I could do to stop it, I'd probably do anything! SP is utterly terrifying.

If the post is genuine or not I have enjoyed the funny responses and the tales of others experiences.

Howmanysleepsnow · 21/01/2020 16:55

@Dowser Do you have any idea when/ if your friend will be able to take a look? I would say my imagination is running away with me trying to guess what could be “very surprising,” but actually I can’t even begin to imagine...
Was there just one spirit you picked up on? I’m prepared for up to 6, though 1 main one.

Scatterlit · 21/01/2020 17:47

the point about jumping the shark was supposed to be that - like a TV show

Yes, I'm familiar with the jumping the shark metaphor, but it's usually used after the TV show has been running on ordinary for some time and the shark-jumping is a desperate late bid to regain viewers' attention by a mad plot development. Whereas this thread began with four year old who has a talking demon badge which channels the dead and predicts the end of the world. That's like jumping the shark during the opening credits of the first episode!

Though I think @Dowser is doing an excellent job of continuing the thread's 'otherworldly' content.

BadEyeBri · 21/01/2020 18:03

Oooh back on for a look and 666 posts. It's a sign of The End

BengalGal · 21/01/2020 18:15

Whoever thought the OP is making this up because of evidence from other posts I’d wrong. They must of typed in the wrong name. OP’s previous posts show she is a mom, shops for kids clothes, took maternity leave, etc. I think the child is psychic and imaginative and Birdie friend is his mouthpiece. I’m quite eager to know if a new baby was planned and how he did at nursery without birdie today. And it’s been a great thread. Thanks PlomBear!

yellowsubmarines · 21/01/2020 18:27

Anyone pick up anything in this photo? Had some spooky things happen since moving into my house. I am starting to think I am not 'alone'! Crown Confused

Dowser · 21/01/2020 18:43

How many sleeps
I don’t want to give you the heebie jeebies
I Dowsed that your little lost soul doesn’t want to go to the light..as did my husband.
In my little experience this is quite unusual..usually they do ..unless they are a very detrimental spirit..a 9 or a ten. Usually they are very happy for you to help them over..
I get hes neither detrimental or beneficial.
I await what my friend gets..hopefully when he’s not too busy

IJustLovePirates · 21/01/2020 18:44

I think the OP is genuine and find it fascinating and terrifying in equal measure!

Oldishusernewname · 21/01/2020 18:53

Haha @Scatterlit fair point Grin I just took it as a "weird things my kid is doing" funny thread which got swept away into extreme woo territory with updates getting more and more over the top.

I would bang it straight into classics personally, Birdie Friend has the makings of a new MN legend

Howmanysleepsnow · 21/01/2020 19:09

@Dowser that matches my feeling about him (see my first question to you!). I think he just likes being around a family...
If you get chance can you ask where in the house / when he lived please? (Cellar?)

Sagradafamiliar · 21/01/2020 19:21

How is it surprising that a spirit doesn't want to go towards the light? There wouldn't be any at all otherwise, would there? Because they would all just go towards the light?

AnuvvaMuvva · 21/01/2020 19:26

I love this thread.

But I REALLY don't get all the photos of perfectly normal doors and cupboards, with "Does anyone see a masked, dagger-wielding maniac ghost murderer in my sideboard?"

Can anyone see anything in these photos? Aside from MDF?

Howmanysleepsnow · 21/01/2020 19:30

@Dowser I don’t scare easily! I’ve seen 2 spirits in this house and sensed more. I’ve seen 2 in different workplaces, a couple in the street plus a ghost car, one in a bomb shelter, 2 at school, one in a courtyard... and that’s not even counting the wispy/ faded type ones, the sounds etc. I really don’t mind seeing them and find it quite reassuring really.
