Live CF parking thread (with diagram!)

So NC for this as not sure if neighbours are on here.

I am off today & woke up to the sound of doors banging and loud voices.

Have a glance out of bedroom window & there are 2 vans & a land rover parked on my ACTUAL drive!

Now I guess it's easily mistaken as a public car park Hmmso don't say anything immediately but once I'm up and toddler is dressed I go downstairs to see.

My next door neighbours are away on holiday. But of a weird driveway as their house has its own but it's round the back of ours and ours is at front so if you use sat nav it brings you to ours as their house is other side of our driveway ifyswim.

Diagram to show you what I mean.

Anyway they are unloading tools etc onto big sheets on my drive and walking over grass to neighbours

I said to them it was a private drive and could they move onto neighbours and they said they won't be long Angry

I was too shocked to say much more than 'no please move now'

Grrrrrrr!

I didn't get chance to catch up on this in work. What a flipping result. Your FIL is ace!

SchadenfreudePersonified · 07/08/2019 20:46

This thread has been a JOY!

An ABSOLUTE JOY!!!

Casander · 07/08/2019 20:50

PLEASE can this go in classics! Best parking thread ever!!

MsAdorabelleDearheartVonLipwig · 07/08/2019 20:55

Well that was hilarious! The thread obvs, not your predicament.

IndieTara · 07/08/2019 20:55

BEST. THREAD. EVER

Sallyseagull · 07/08/2019 20:56

Yay for you!

We've had people block us & our neighbours in to our private road before and the police have said they can't do a thing about it, we also haven't had the facilities to then block them in (such as gates) so they then can't move so I'm going to live my joy at doing so through you!

ElizaDee · 07/08/2019 20:57

I was about to post the same, but I wonder if a man who is such a twat would actually find a woman daft enough to marry him?

Judging by many threads on here, these twats do.

lovesapinot · 07/08/2019 20:57

Omg as if my little parking thread has been nominated for classics!

DH just doesn't get it!

Toddler and his pens are oblivious too!

Brilliant thread op. Well done. I’m also getting spurred on by mumsnetters to stop letting cf drivers take the piss. I had one this evening, an older man, who started to pass a parked car and was gesticulating for me to reverse because he decided to come on my side of the road without looking if the road was clear. Time women stood up to these bullies. You did incredibly well.

TheTrollFairy · 07/08/2019 21:00

@lovesapinot but had he read this thread? Does he go on mumsnet? Does he understand the importance of the diagrams in such situations?

PanamaPattie · 07/08/2019 21:01

Classics this way 🔜

Pollywollydolly · 07/08/2019 21:05

Just brilliant!

nespressowoo · 07/08/2019 21:05

🏅 for you OP!

Ontheboardwalk · 07/08/2019 21:09

I’m just really struggling to understand the entitlement of the man when asked to move from private property turned round and said no! WTF

FatThor · 07/08/2019 21:09

This has been beautiful, thanks OP Grin

TremblingFanjo · 07/08/2019 21:11

What an arse. He could have climbed over the locked gate and walked to the shops to buy you flowers by way of an apology but no, he chose to sit on your driveway stewing for hours. Well obviously he could have not parked there in the first place, or moved the first second or third time you asked him to, but once the game was up he had every opportunity to apologise. And didn't. Arse.

YeahJackie · 07/08/2019 21:11

OP, leave your husband and marry me, he clearly doesn’t appreciate you or your diagrams or your delicious vindictiveness or your need to talk about how awesome this all was.

Thread of the month.

plominoagain · 07/08/2019 21:13

Glorious . Hoist by his own petard of arrogance and fuckwittery .

Absolutely fabulous.

TheMobileSiteMadeMeSignup · 07/08/2019 21:14

Had to leave the thread for a bit and I'm very happy to see how it turned out. We'll done OP! Bravo!

emphasisofmatter · 07/08/2019 21:14

I wish I had seen this earlier for the live updates. Bravo OP, bravo. Raise a glass of Pinot to yourself and your FIL and DH (a little bit).

MoveOnTheCards · 07/08/2019 21:17

What if his job isn’t finished and he needs to come back again tomorrow?!

MrsKittyFane1 · 07/08/2019 21:20

What if his job isn’t finished and he needs to come back again tomorrow?!

Hopefully he'll park on the drive belonging to the house he's working on!

DobbyTheHouseElk · 07/08/2019 21:22

It might be worth speaking to your copper neighbours when they are back, asking if they had instructed someone to do work in their absence.

LakieLady · 07/08/2019 21:25

It might be worth speaking to your copper neighbours ...

I wouldn't mention it. OP might get nicked for unlawful imprisonment or something!

lovesapinot · 07/08/2019 21:25

@MoveOnTheCards I'm wondering that too as DH didn't ask this vital information.

But will be on the look out!

Just been been doing some Facebook group stalking and I can see Copper neighbour asked for recommendations for plumbers/electrician/plasterer etc back in May. Hmmmm may just reply on thread and point out the Cfuckery! Then neighbour will defo see it right?!
