Tomorrow Princess Juliet will be marrying Mr Peregrine Banksbrook. The ceremony will take place at Ruggington Cathedral because let's face it we don't have any other Playmobil churches and will be conducted by the Archbishop of Ruggington, assisted by the Dean of Lowbeach-on-Sea, with an address given by the Bishop of Highbath, the Right Reverend Balthazar Browne.

The ceremony will be followed by a carriage procession, and a reception in the grounds of Roundwood palace.

In Ruggington, the streets are being cleaned ready for tomorrow.

I think I will be able to post one or two more photos later on tonight, and then more will follow tomorrow evening, after I get home from work.

ooh! I DO love a good wedding, don't you? [sniff]

And the music while the happy couple were signing the Register was divine!

The stained glass windows - I was watching the David Hockney programme about his new window for ..wherever...Westminster Abbey?..last night. Bet he designed those too.

Bits do you write a family tree, like they do on Who do you think you are?, before you start? So many characters, such fabulous names!Grin

Aviator, I do have a family tree for the royal family, and also for the Widdletons, Sparkles and Banksbrooks.

All the other characters have names, but there are no family relationships, apart from a few married people e.g. General Sir Ospringe Bapchild is married to Lady Marden Wye.

I love all the little background details.

Did you come up with the fabulous names yourself?

SoMuchToBits · 13/10/2018 22:06

Some of the names have been my invention. But the best ones were from ds when he was still young enough to be properly interested in Playmobil. I think that's where Norman the Foreman and Bossy Ross came from. And Sir Ospringe Bapchild came about when we were in Canterbury with my sister and BIL.

We had bought the set containing Sir Ospringe there, and my sister and BIL were commenting about interesting Kent village names, such as Ospringe and Bapchild. So ds promptly decided this would be a good name for his new Playmo knight. And that's why the horse was called Canterbury too.

Like Gina I'm so loving and in awe of all the names! Thanks for answering my question about the family trees, btw.
And hey! check out the security men on the roofs - guns,no lessShock

SoMuchToBits · 13/10/2018 22:16

Yes, ds was a bit worried that one of them was pointing his gun into the crowd! Grin Ds did help me sort out the correct police for these photos. They had to be the Ruggington police, not the Lowbeach police!

Having another look, one of the marksmen is definitely aiming his gun at one of the security police - one drafted from the Lowbeach force, presumablySmile

These guys are all Ruggington police!

Lady Marden Wye? Both on the train line from London to Kent. (I used to live in the village that's the next stop to Marden!)
Wye, Chilham, Chartham...

AviatorShades · 14/10/2018 18:16

Just wondered, has Norman the Foreman always been Prime Minister or is this a new Appointment since his last appearance here?
(I LOVE Norman! )Grin

AviatorShades · 14/10/2018 18:19

MrsCatE, yep, it's always a sign of a good party when the gals start dancing round their handbagsGrin

AviatorShades · 14/10/2018 18:22

Oh and Canterbury is a perfect name for a horse!

SoMuchToBits · 14/10/2018 20:39

Fuzzy, we know Kent quite well, so used a lot of Kent place names for our knights and ladies!

Aviator, Norm has been prime minister for several years after being elected by MNers.

Anyway, here are more scenes form the carriage procession...
