Prince Josiah of Playmoland is marrying Miss Serena Sparkle. The wedding will take place at Ruggington Cathedral and the reception will be in the grounds of Roundwood Palace.

The ceremony will be conducted y the Archbishop of Ruggington, the Most Revernd Godfrey Venables, and the address will be given by the Dean of Lowbeach-on-Sea, the Very Reverend Anselm Latimer.

Crowd have gathered along the route of the procession, and ardent royalist Brendan, who has camped out overnight to get a good view is being interviewed by the PBC.

Omg these are amazing! You need an Instagram account or start a Facebook page!

Thank you! As I mentioned earlier, I'm not sure about Instagram, as I don't have a smartphone and mainly use my laptop for my online activities. I am on FB, and have posted an album of the Playmo Royal Wedding for my friends to see, but haven't really thought about a separate FB page.

SoMuch - Do you make up all theses names yourself? Do you make up the families or do you actually work for Playmobil?

I make up the names myself (or some of them evolved when ds was a child, like Norman the Foreman, and the police horse PlusForce, which ds said was so named "because he adds value to the police force" Grin).

Similarly either ds or I have made up the families. And no, I have never worked for Playmobil! In fact, the only contact I have had with Playmobil is to order stuff from their website, and I have "liked" their FB page.

Well, you have amazing talent is all I can say. Honestly you could these sell your sets with the stories the royal wedding ones would be special edition!, Playmobil could make a killing and you too. They really are missing a trick here.

I totally agree, Winners. I really think you, MN and Playmobil should get together.

I really don't think Playmobil would want to use my photos for advertising - they just aren't professional enough. I've used makeshift backdrops and a cheap point and shoot camera, and have no photography skills! And we've used home made bunting and flags. I'm not sure that would cut it in today's slick commercial world!

All great fun, but I'm just a complete amateur. Smile

I wasn't thinking about them using it for advertising, but I do think they would sell if you did publish them, but suspect you couldn't do that without Playmobil's permission. I honestly think you should try. And the amateurishness is what makes it, imo!

Yes, I think you would need Playmobil's permission to publish anything using their name. I don't think it would sell particularly well either, except maybe to a small bunch of Playmobil fans.

I wasn’t thinking about photos, I was thinking about the actual sets you’ve created. Playmobil might be interested in the royal wedding sets, including all the names you’ve given ( which are just brilliant eg plusForce is just brilliant! I can imagine loads of children wanting it. Of course that would also mean ‘advertising’ for the special royal edition.

People might be interested in buying specific sets eg just the royal street party &parade or the heads of state arriving set or infact the entire set. I can even imagine it could become a Playmobil collectors item in future. I’m getting a bit carried away now I know but it’s not impossible.

elephant, I don't know, but I think it depends whether you make a profit from it as to whether you need permission. I don't know whether the Plarchers generates any income for the people who produce it.

Winners, I'm not sure a Royal Wedding set would be a hit. It might go down well in Britain, but not so sure about all the other countries, as Playmobil is fairly global. Also I definitely wouldn't want them to use our names for a set they produce. One of the things I love about Playmobil is that most of the figures don't have names, which allows children (and some of us adults! Wink) to be imaginative.

For example, when I've had a look at the PlaymoFriends website, there is someone on there who posts scenes which include our "Norman" and "Brian", but his are called Ben and Henk. I think it's great you can give the characters the names you want. Smile

Also, I can't imagine producing a set that included all the scenes I made - it would be massive. I used more than 300 figures for a start!

I think a royal wedding set will be even more of a hit in other countries. It’s just an idea of course, not researched or anything, so have no marketing analysis to back it, but it’s an idea. I just have a sixth sense, ‘there is something here’, that Playmobil will want.

I'm not so sure... but I'll keep making my own scenes anyway. Just received some new items in the post today for the next wedding! Smile

Sylvanian Families did a Royal Wedding set in 2011 but don't think it sold that well.

Don't tell anyone, but I've just ordered another Playmo set on eBay tonight ready for the next event...

Oh, gawd, not another General Election! Shock

I was more thinking of another wedding rather than a general election. Although a gen election can be set up very quickly whereas a wedding takes lots of planning...
