To harness the power of Mumsnet to make a little girl's Christmas...

Posting here for traffic because I am clearly not BU Xmas Wink

My friend's DD has lost her beloved Floffel. Floffel is her seal cuddly toy from babyhood and will never be found again as Floffel was lost overseas.

Friend's DD has written to Father Christmas asking for Floffel back. Nothing else on the list - just Floffel.

They don't effing make Floffel anymore Xmas Shock Xmas Sad Xmas Confused

Friend's DD as been through the wringer lately - can't go into details as would be outing but suffice to say she could really really do with a boost.

Please please please wonderful people of Mumsnet - if you happen to have an Aurora Naturally seal like the one in the photo hanging around your house (it's flannel not plush apparently and has the word 'naturally' on its bum) that you'd be willing to sell/give away it would truly honestly make this little girl's Christmas.

TIA Flowers

If new Floffle is a little plumper, I wonder if Father Christmas could say he's been feeding him well at the North Pole? Father Christmas isn't known for his svelteness!

brotherphil · 15/12/2017 19:10

Well, it seems that "floffel" means different things to different people shock

Sounds like I'm using the wrong search engine - all I got was vegetarian Arabic food.

ChasedByBees · 15/12/2017 19:10

Lovinglola Shock that's awful!

Norugratsatall · 15/12/2017 19:10

Best thread ever! One for Classics? I've got such a warm fuzzy feeling imagining that little girl's face Xmas morning. Proper Xmas magic!

E-mail the company. Try find Chief Exec name and address for his attention. No doubt a lesser being will deal with but will want CE to be seen as compassionate. Offer to pay plus postage! Plead, plead plead.

SoupDragon · 15/12/2017 19:12

Read the whole thread, Manic :)

marymoosmum · 15/12/2017 19:46

I am so glad you managed to find one, this thread has restored my faith in humanity. My daughter has a little teddy that she takes everywhere with her, she says he is her best friend, she would be devastated of she lost it. I remember running around a village near us like a madman trying to find him. Xmas Confused Xmas Grin

Booboo66 · 15/12/2017 19:48

This whole thread is MN at its very best, and shows people at their best too.

@Bicnod @Flofflemama @Bonkerz ... it’s all so lovely and it would be amazing to see a pic of a very happy little lady reunited.

Merry Christmas everyone Xmas GrinBearStarWine

spongebunnyfatpants · 15/12/2017 20:44

They used to sell this make of teddies in Twycross zoo as my son has the penguin. I don't know if they still have them though. Good luck.

SchadenfreudePersonified · 15/12/2017 20:45

Flofflemama

Just think of us all as your DD's Sweary Godmothers Grin

So glad that Christmas at Chez Floffle will be filled with joy.

I do agree that we need a Medal Emoticon.

In its absence, Bonkerz - On behalf of all at Mumsnet, I award you

Glitterball (and bar)

May God bless you, and all who sail in you!

SchadenfreudePersonified · 15/12/2017 20:47

margaritasbythesea · 15/12/2017 20:54

OOh Flofflemama. Nice to meet you Smile. I bet you can´t wait for Christmas to come!

YouDancin · 15/12/2017 21:06

Such a happy ending.

I said before but you missed it - I think you need to buy the little girl the book "Tatty Ratty"
www.penguin.co.uk/ladybird/books/1004985/tatty-ratty/

It is the story of a toy rabbit who is lost. The little girl is heartbroken. They look everywhere- no luck. But the rabbit is coming home - a series of steps that make it look cleaner, buttons back on where they were missing, whiter fur ... etc etc... (as will happen as HER seal is used) ... then the rabbit is reunited with the little girl and we all cry (well I do when reading it).
