To harness the power of Mumsnet to make a little girl's Christmas...

Posting here for traffic because I am clearly not BU Xmas Wink

My friend's DD has lost her beloved Floffel. Floffel is her seal cuddly toy from babyhood and will never be found again as Floffel was lost overseas.

Friend's DD has written to Father Christmas asking for Floffel back. Nothing else on the list - just Floffel.

They don't effing make Floffel anymore Xmas Shock Xmas Sad Xmas Confused

Friend's DD as been through the wringer lately - can't go into details as would be outing but suffice to say she could really really do with a boost.

Please please please wonderful people of Mumsnet - if you happen to have an Aurora Naturally seal like the one in the photo hanging around your house (it's flannel not plush apparently and has the word 'naturally' on its bum) that you'd be willing to sell/give away it would truly honestly make this little girl's Christmas.

TIA Flowers

Sing Hosannahs! There SHALL be Floffels this Christmas - and beyond!

bettytaghetti · 15/12/2017 17:06

Please can we have some sort of Mumsnet award for Bonkerz! Totally deserved Cake Flowers

Flofflemama · 15/12/2017 17:29

Oh my goodness guys, I don't know how to say thank you enough! Floffle is home and will be delivered safely by Father Christmas on Christmas Day (though I have to admit I'm very tempted to reveal him sooner as she so misses him).

He will have a wash and I'll sleep with him under my pillow til the big day so that he flattens out a bit (our floffel is a bit less plump through love 😂).

I am so grateful though to everyone who posted their good wishes and their offers of help and especially of course to bonkerz who has honestly made my little girls Christmas 😍 And mine of course!

Also of course to my awesome friend who was banging on about the power of mumsnet to me but I thought she was optimistic at best, a bit
loopy at worst 😜 Love you bicnod 😘

Mostly though I can't believe how kind everyone has been and I'm truly grateful to you all. I will update you come Christmas and let you know her reaction though I'm sure it will be magical.

Thank you so much you lovely lot 😘

@Flofflemama welcome to the world of MN. Sometimes batshit crazy. Sometimes shocking. Sometimes frustrating. But thankfully there are lots of fab members, some real belly laughs, some good advice and support and some wonderfully heartwarming threads. So pleased your DD will have her dreams come true on Christmas Day. Have a brilliant time! Flowers

Now if someone could get me a Louise the Owl from Lost in Translation for less than a small fortune I'd be REALLY happy! Smile

OP

You must save this thread to show the little girl when she's older.** She'd be fascinated to hear the story of how MN rallied round

Zeelove · 15/12/2017 17:49

This thread is lovely Smile

blueskyinmarch · 15/12/2017 17:55

Obviously he is a bit fatter. He has been on his holidays!

Knittedfairies · 15/12/2017 17:55

Oh, I’ve got goose pimples! A wonderful, wonderful Christmas tale. Never let it be said that Father Christmas doesn’t try his best to get every child their heart's desire.. 👏👏 Bonkerz Santa's Number One helper

Bicnod · 15/12/2017 17:56

I have been on MN for a couple of years but very rarely post. However I log on nearly every day. Despite the crazy posts and the nastiness sometimes, MN has actually reassured me that there are a lot of good people out there.

Footle · 15/12/2017 18:16

Bicnod, have you warned Flofflemama about the vipers, vindscreen and other kinds?

Bonkerz · 15/12/2017 18:16

Honestly it's no big deal on my part. It was a fluke I was looking through threads and totally fate that I'd seen the seal that day!

mikeyssister · 15/12/2017 18:25

Jeepers that photo caught me totally on the hop. I'm bawling crying.

QueenArseClangers · 15/12/2017 18:25

Well you certainly ‘sealed’ the deal Bonkerz Grin

mikeyssister · 15/12/2017 18:27

Ah Jeepers and now @flofflemama is here talking about how sad DD is. I'm a wreck Sad

Power of mumsnet. Well done bonkerz

LovingLola · 15/12/2017 18:29

@SchadenfreudePersonified

It's still talked about....Mil (who is now a sprightly 90!) says the sight was seared into her brain. DH found the two eyes about 3 feet away from the escalator....

ScreamingValenta · 15/12/2017 18:31

Delurking to say what a lovely outcome!

mumof3boys33 · 15/12/2017 19:07

How wonderful a floffie was found. I hope your daughter has a great Christmas (I’m place marking too 😂)

jessebuni · 15/12/2017 19:08

Not going to lie. I cried. Magical outcome!
