My Neighbour is mowing their grass. They have been at it since 8am.
I don't think this is outrageous. It's a good idea to do it before it gets hot.

Today I thought about going to a commercial event which seemed a bit expensive. So I didn't go.

GerdaLovesLili · 23/07/2016 21:02

My neighbour turned his grass sprinkler on at 6.30am yesterday morning. It makes a noise like an asthmatic hippo because of the low water pressure.

I didn't complain because he mowed my lawn for me the other day without my asking, and I think it was him that dragged my bin out when I forgot it was Thursday.

StarOnTheTree · 23/07/2016 21:57

DD1 got home at 4.15am this morning from her night out. She was in rather high spirits and woke me up and probably the neighbours too shouting goodbye to her friends in the street.

I thought she sounds like she's had a good time and then went back to sleep.

AddToBasket · 23/07/2016 23:14

I saw my friend's DH having lunch with a woman I don't know. I said hello and got on with my day.

VagueButlmportant · 24/07/2016 00:24

I found a shopping list on the floor outside my local supermarket.

I popped it in the nearest bin and then I did my shopping.

VagueButlmportant · 24/07/2016 00:28

My cleaner occasionally doesn't put things away where I normally put them.
I either leave them where they are or I put them back where I prefer them.

Also, I pay her the rate she asks for. It doesn't really matter to me what other cleaners in other parts of the country get paid.

CuboidalSlipshoddy · 24/07/2016 11:38

My parter was out late last night. They're back now.

BlackbirdSingsInTheDeadOfNight · 24/07/2016 12:08

Our neighbour's window cleaner was blocking our drive with his van. I parked my car on the road and politely asked if he'd mind doing our windows too. He did do them. He then moved his van and I parked in our drive.

Another neighbour's teenage daughter had a party last night. She put a handwritten note through our letterbox beforehand to tell us it was happening and to knock if they were too noisy. I closed the bedroom windows and put the fan on. They weren't noisy at all and I hope they had a great night (and what amazing neighbours for the handwritten note!).

My nearest Starbucks ran out cold brew so I couldn't have my soy cold brew latte with caramel syrup, I had to make do with a soy iced latte with caramel syrup. Hashtag first world problems. Grin

Destinysdaughter · 24/07/2016 20:20

Last night my neighbours who were having a barbeque accidentally chucked a football over the fence. There was obviously a little boy doing it as I could hear him. I chucked it back over and shouted, here's your ball back! They said thanks. 2 minutes later it happened again! I laughed and thought they must feel mortified so went back outside and chucked it over the fence again. They said thanks and sorry.

Not a problem. Was happy to do it. 😀

We are on holiday with my inlaws. We're having a nice time and everyone is getting along.

Butteredparsnips · 25/07/2016 10:23

Possibly should put this in AIBU, but can't really be bothered. DS announced this morning that he has had a girlfriend for a few months and would like to bring her round to meet us.

Fair enough, but he also let on that the dog has already met her. Should I be fumming?

OP posts:
toadgirl · 25/07/2016 10:50

Buttered

On the bright side, DS' GF has passed the first-level approval. If the dog had rejected her, you wouldn't be meeting her next. So she probably won't be too bad, I'm thinking.

Butteredparsnips · 25/07/2016 12:01

True Toadgirl the dog is a pretty good judge of character...

My son's childminder was unavoidably detained, so their boss dropped him home instead. That was nice, wasn't it?

CuboidalSlipshoddy · 25/07/2016 12:22

My widowed father has been very happy for the last ten years with a new partner, and finally they're getting married. I'm really looking forward to a nice party!

meowli · 25/07/2016 13:17

I phoned dh at work to ask him if he minded if I went out tonight to visit a friend, spur of the moment. He said yes, that was fine.

It's pretty good of him, considering he will be left in charge of my elderly high maintenance mother for the evening, as I haven't had time to organise a carer. I'm definitely not going to LTB!

PavlovianLunge · 25/07/2016 19:43

Since the local jeweller changed the battery on my watch, the date function has been slightly out, and I can't correct it. I went to take it back to the shop today, but the shop was closed, they don't open on Mondays.

I'll go back later this week to ask if they can fix it. I'm sure they'll be able to.

TwuntingCat · 25/07/2016 22:09

My next door neighbours got a cockerel. For the first few weeks it woke me everyday at sunrise, now it only does occasionally, I'm guessing my body has learnt to sleep through it. I'm just thankful they got it in March when the sun didn't rise super early.

MyNightWithMaud · 25/07/2016 22:31

My teen intends to dye their hair magenta. That's fine because it's their hair and it'll have washed out before they go back to schol.

PeaceOfWildThings · 25/07/2016 23:08

My teen has blue/green hair with orange/red roots. Bought pink dye today. Their hair.

Bagofmashings · 25/07/2016 23:16

We were being a bit noisy in the garden at 10.30 pm. Our neighbour very politely asked if we could keep it down. We apologised and did.

PinkissimoAndPearls · 26/07/2016 10:25

One of my DCs asked me to help them dye their hair blue. This would involve bleach and they have such lovely hair. I was momentarily reluctant.
We negotiated in a normal volume of voice, that they will go to the hairdresser for the bleach bit and do the bottom half of hair only. I said I would then help them with the blue bit.

They are happy and I am resigned. I spend a lot of my time in a resigned state with my DC.

(I did spend a moment wondering if I am a bad influence as my hair is Pinkissimo colour, but then thought "fuck it" and drank some Yazoo chocolate milkshake. The milkshake was very nice.)

DamsonGinIsMyThing · 26/07/2016 14:15

I got my hair cut and coloured today. I didn't leave a tip. I don't feel bad about it.

LikeDylanInTheMovies · 29/07/2016 13:57

A van was parked outside our flat when I came home last night and I had to park in a different street.

Well, it is a public road and they have every much right to park there as I do.
