My Neighbour is mowing their grass. They have been at it since 8am.
I don't think this is outrageous. It's a good idea to do it before it gets hot.

I was invited to a child free vegetarian wedding that involved an overnight stay and was expensive. It was fantastic.

The couple who had their baby today had no idea in advance what gender they were expecting. They choose a name there and then without seeking anyone else's opinion.

CuboidalSlipshoddy · 20/07/2016 17:48

My daughter wants to have her hair a bit shorter. I'm taking her to the hairdresser this week.

PinkissimoAndPearls · 20/07/2016 18:05

Yay at classics Grin

My new piercing just fell out only two weeks after it was done. I couldn't find the stud so I just sighed a bit and replaced it with a gold earring stud dunked in surgical spirit. It hurt a bit but I'm sure it will be fine. I washed my hands first.

DH made me a cup of tea afterwards "to steady my nerves". I feel fine now.

DiamondInTheRuff · 20/07/2016 18:18

A male colleague held a door open for me today. He also addressed me as "ma'am".

I smiled and said thank you.

MrsHathaway · 20/07/2016 18:30

DS3 was cute at sports day today. He got a medal and an ice lolly at the end. I doubt he'll remember past August but we parents enjoyed it.

A pregnant woman at pre school is going to continue sending her pfb while she's on maternity leave. I agreed it sounded like a great idea.

DrWhy · 20/07/2016 18:38

I'm 7 months pregnant - no strangers have tried to touch my bump, I wouldn't mind if they did. My mum and my sister and practically attached to it when we are together, I think it's lovely they are excited and it feels nice.

I have bought almost nothing for the baby, we have been given second hand things by friends, gifted a new car seat by my in-laws and my mum is knitting for England. I am delighted with all we have been given and don't much care if it all matches.

OhSoggyBiscuit · 20/07/2016 19:36

The neighbours are out in their garden. That's nice. It is a lovely evening for it.

PleaseGetOffTheTableDarling · 20/07/2016 19:49

DH works away for weeks at a time. We have two co-sleeping toddlers and I have been pregnant and/or breastfeeding for the past four years, non-stop. Our sex life is not the same as when we first met. I'm not worried.

SpongeBobJudgeyPants · 20/07/2016 20:38

I went to McDonalds for lunch today, and had fillet of fish. One of the women who works there left with her coat on while I was still finishing my coffee. I made a joke about her escaping. She laughed and made a pleasant comment back. From this I assumed she knew I was making a joke with another human, which helps make the world go round, and was not patronising her or over-stepping boundaries.

Mercedes519 · 20/07/2016 21:05

I decided that the towels needed a wash. I washed them. I briefly thought about how often I should wash them and whether I needed a routine. I don't.

AnnieOnnieMouse · 20/07/2016 21:07

When dh left the house today he said for me to text a list if I wanted him to get any shopping. I did text, but he didn't see it, so just came straight home. I didn't say anything, I just did egg and chips for tea. He will apologise whenever he looks at his phone next.

Mercedes519 · 20/07/2016 21:07

My DD wants playmobil pirates for her birthday. She also wants a pink puppy that walks itself.

Happy birthday DD.

PepeLePew · 20/07/2016 21:18

We go on holiday on Saturday. I thought I'd lost the children's passports. dd reminded me my mother still has them after she took them away at half term. I called my mother, she said she'd come and visit tomorrow, with passports and cake, do some gardening and take the dcs out for ice cream so my au pair can have the day off. Interfering old woman.

My neighbours asked if I'd feed their cat when they go away. I don't much like cats but I said yes because they are nice people.

There was no milk in the empty bottle in the fridge at work. I went and bought some more so we could have a cup of tea during our meeting.

AlmaMartyr · 20/07/2016 21:47

DD's school report referred to her as 'he'. It's OK, clearly a software mistake and they obviously knew who they were talking about. I didn't mention it, her teacher is fab and probably pretty tired.

We went swimming at a local wild swimming point yesterday. Someone's dog came swimming with us and tried to play. It was a very friendly dog, and the kids were pleased to have a dog to play with. I smiled and chatted with the owners a bit.

A neighbour's small child shouted a silly insult at us while we were sitting in the front garden. He's three. We didn't take it seriously and weren't offended. We had a giggle and sympathised with his mortified (and lovely) mother.

littlejeopardy · 20/07/2016 21:52

PepeLePew interfering old women! Love it.

My 'IOW' came round today and washed up, helped change the bedding and made lunch for me and the baby. Then she asked for a lift home, which I gave her.

AudreyBradshaw · 20/07/2016 22:11

My ''IOW' has spent the best part of a grand in prams in the last fortnight. She will likely be present at the birth of her PFGC and will either stay with me afterwards or me and dh will go stay with my DPs depending on how the birth goes.

She is beyond excited to be a Grandma, there will be lots of visitors and she will have pride of place. My Dad will complain about 'all these bloody visitors' but will mind our dogs, hoover, make cakes and brew up when people decend.

meowli · 20/07/2016 22:32

A boy in ds's class is having a birthday in the summer holidays. Ds didn't get an invitation. However, as he's not friends with the boy, he wasn't expecting one and didn't give it a second thought.

CharlieSierra · 20/07/2016 22:44

DD is getting married in a few days. ExH and I are going to speak to each other and be civilised for the entire weekend. Because he's her Dad and it's not her fault he was a cheating fuckwit we got divorced.

BreconBeBuggered · 20/07/2016 22:55

DS's school report had his name spelt 2 different ways within the same sentence. It was still his school report

One of my neighbours has brambles growing literally up as far as the first floor windows. Another routinely parks his big van outside my front gate. I couldn't give a shit.

Rinceoir · 20/07/2016 23:02

DD (2yrs old) had a silent tantrum on the street today (lay face down refusing to move) while my hands were full of shopping. An older lady came over and said her son used to do it all the time. And asked DD if she wanted to see her dog.

DD got up. The older lady smiled and told us to have a nice day. I smiled and thanked her. I wasn't fuming that she interfered.

Rinceoir · 20/07/2016 23:03

Also my co-workers constantly mispronounce my name.

It's a difficult to pronounce Irish name. I don't hold it against them.

Butteredparsnips · 20/07/2016 23:11

Yay classics! Thanks to everyone who nominated the thread.

I have been doing some tidying and sorting at DMs today. It was hot upstairs, so I worked downstairs.

I have brought a card & wine for DDs teacher, she has worked hard this year and DD has enjoyed herself and learned a lot.

Most days, we eat for tea whatever is due to go off first, assuming the plate will have: simply cooked starch+meat+lots of steamed veg. The resulting meals are nice. I wouldn't like to mealplan or follow a recipe.
