Aibu over lady using my parking spaces.

We live in a housing estate and each house or flat has one or two spaces allocated to them. Most of the spaces are directly outside our houses except a few that are round the side that have garages. The spaces aren't numbered but everyone seems to know who's is whose. There's a new neighbour that has moved in next door to me (a corner house) and has a garage parking space round the back of her house, however she uses both my spaces as she parks in the middle of them. It's quite annoying when there's nowhere else to park as you have to park further down the road.

I went over today and introduced myself and poilitley told her the spaces were mine and hers was round the back but she was welcome to use our other space when we don't have guests but could she park to one side so I can fit my car next to hers. She looked at me with a blank expression, said no and shut the door on me! What do I do now!? I just stood there for a moment open mouthed and then went home.

Now I'm not sure if she has mobility problems as she's not exactly nimble anymore (about 65) but I am shocked at her one word reply!

RedHairDontCare · 18/02/2015 09:45

This just gets better and better.

Can't stop reading, lets hope my boss doesn't see...

landrover · 18/02/2015 09:46

The treacle idea is good!!!!

fluffyraggies · 18/02/2015 09:48

Hmm i actually rubbed my hands together and grinned when i saw this thread up top again just now! (and therefore updated).

Who even does that?! Grin Me obviously now GrinGrin

stinkingbishop · 18/02/2015 09:56

Am I right in thinking now both your spaces and one of the NAR's spaces are free of NDN? So you could do the number painting now?

This is a very boring post just to mark space Smile.

AlpacaLypse · 18/02/2015 09:57

Treacle is genius!

PurpleCrazyHorse · 18/02/2015 09:57

Even DH is interested in this thread and keeps asking me to check for updates Grin

plainjanine · 18/02/2015 10:16

This is pretty disgusting, but how about smearing dogshit under the door handles / boot handle thing? Or leaving a big fat turd curled up on her bonnet? I can't find a suitable emoticon for this. :-(

You can't do anything to damage her car, but it's a good way of making your point. Also, because she's also pissed off NAR, she won't know which of you did it. Plausible deniability. ;-)

Can you tell I've had this sort of trouble in the past?

chocolateshoes · 18/02/2015 10:18

Am so glad it's half term so I can keep up with this thread!

fakenamefornow · 18/02/2015 10:21

Never mind classics, this deserves its own website, then the whole internet could be gripped. You could use advertising revenue to pay for your time off work while you keep us all updated OP.

nilbyname · 18/02/2015 10:22

Oh my goodness!

Place marking!

MetallicBeige · 18/02/2015 10:30

She ain't no lady op! Grin

Seriously though, I hope it's resolved soon for you all. It's so stressful to feel at conflict with your neighbours. Parking seems to bring out the very worst in some people.

thegreylady · 18/02/2015 10:35

My ndn's dd parks like this I
/ where I is our drive and / is her car. They are very pleasant but it is annoying as they have an empty drive and two roadside spaces which are usually empty. We go round, she apologises, someone moves the car...except when there is no one in. When I have to go out in the car it is usually time driven eg picking up dgc from school 8 miles away.
I wouldn't be at all kind in your case but would embark on a campaign of nastiness the like of which has rarely been seen in the history of mumsnet Grin

thegreylady · 18/02/2015 10:36

Well that failed. The / should have been under the I.

TheReluctantCountess · 18/02/2015 10:42

Oh I can't wait!

CaptainAnkles · 18/02/2015 10:50

How do you bookmark on the app?

var123 · 18/02/2015 10:59

bookmark = watch this thread

Lweji · 18/02/2015 11:02

OP
(and this will be lost in the middle of all placemarkings and comments about how great this thread is)

you need to set up a webcam and live streaming. Someone will be watching it for you.

But I suspect NAR's friend won't need to take the car for today and that's why they put the car on the driver's side.

SoupDragon · 18/02/2015 11:11

This is pretty disgusting, but how about smearing dogshit under the door handles / boot handle thing? Or leaving a big fat turd curled up on her bonnet

I think that is unnecessary - I'm sure there is a host of MNers nearby who can train their dog to shit right by her drivers side door on a regular basis.

Or, maybe take to feeding the local pigeon population in the parking space?

ChristmasEveSteve · 18/02/2015 11:12

I think she is renting and doesn't realise the places belong to someone rather than people preferring to park in them.

SoupDragon · 18/02/2015 11:13

She has been told the spaces belong to people.

Allstoppedup · 18/02/2015 11:17

Christmas she has been approached by both neighbours and has essentially told them she doesn't "give shit".

It's not a simple error on her part!

Allstoppedup · 18/02/2015 11:17

*"a"

ChameleonCircuit · 18/02/2015 11:21

If she doesn't have a shit to give, all the more reason for OP and NAR to provide her with some.

SoonToBeMrsB · 18/02/2015 11:23

Oh I missed loads last night! OP, I need a proper, outrageous update so I can get indignant about someone I don't know again. Yesterday I was full of rage on your behalf Grin
