Aibu over lady using my parking spaces.

We live in a housing estate and each house or flat has one or two spaces allocated to them. Most of the spaces are directly outside our houses except a few that are round the side that have garages. The spaces aren't numbered but everyone seems to know who's is whose. There's a new neighbour that has moved in next door to me (a corner house) and has a garage parking space round the back of her house, however she uses both my spaces as she parks in the middle of them. It's quite annoying when there's nowhere else to park as you have to park further down the road.

I went over today and introduced myself and poilitley told her the spaces were mine and hers was round the back but she was welcome to use our other space when we don't have guests but could she park to one side so I can fit my car next to hers. She looked at me with a blank expression, said no and shut the door on me! What do I do now!? I just stood there for a moment open mouthed and then went home.

Now I'm not sure if she has mobility problems as she's not exactly nimble anymore (about 65) but I am shocked at her one word reply!

Morning! Unfortunately NAR has taken his car to work, but fornar is still there blocking her drivers door. I'll be curtain twitching for a bit but then I'm out all day, sorry!

SirChenjin · 18/02/2015 08:05

KissMyFatArse · 18/02/2015 08:09

Pipbin · 18/02/2015 08:14

I will come to your house, drive NAR and FONAR to work and spend the day curtain twitch.
Anyone else in?

goldvelvet · 18/02/2015 08:35

Pipbin is there any room for me? and 3 dc's damn you half term!

notnaice · 18/02/2015 08:41

You are forbidden to go out. Don't you dare disobey.

Do you want to deliberately upset thousands of people?

londonrach · 18/02/2015 08:42

yearofthegoat · 18/02/2015 08:46

I am off to read the Penguin Bollard threads, I missed them first time round. OP I hope you get some progress today.

Boosiehs · 18/02/2015 08:49

Ooooh! Loving NAR's work here. Minute by minute updates if you don't mind NannyPlum!

littlejessie · 18/02/2015 08:52

Bookmarking! Grin

angelos02 · 18/02/2015 08:54

I think the neighbour is just a lazy chubbsa that can't be bothered to walk the extra 10 metres to walk from where she should be parking.

KitKat1985 · 18/02/2015 08:55

What I love is that presumably rude bitch will have no idea whose car it is blocking her drivers door, and have no idea who to approach to get it removed again. I do hope FONAR doesn't have to work today.

Pipbin · 18/02/2015 08:55

Gold. Leave the DC at home with the tv on and loads of crisps. What could go wrong.

I do remember that with the penguin bollard thread that we all got so excited that we filled the thread before the op had got back from work and replied.

var123 · 18/02/2015 09:01

Love threads like this! My suggestion if she parks in your space again is to drop a very large tin of treacle on the ground (your ground) in front of her drivers door so she has no choice but to step in it if she wants to get in her car..

petitdonkey · 18/02/2015 09:03

OM - I am another one shamelessly marking place. I am in shock at the attitude of this woman!

chocciechip · 18/02/2015 09:08

I nowhave thumb-cramp from scrolling through and reading two penguin bollard threads in their entirety. I still haven't googled 'penguin bollards' though.Grin

BauerTime · 18/02/2015 09:29

I was disappointed with penguin bollard threads, I was expecting it to get a bit more bizarre TBH.

OP I think you are being really selfish not to cancel today's plans and stay at your window to keep us updated instead Grin

brainfidget · 18/02/2015 09:32

Years ago, kids superglued the car door locks of several cars in our street. Luckily they didn't superglue the boot lock too, so I was able when I was young and lithe to scramble through the boot to the driver seat for a week or so, when the glue wore off.

OP, the message is obvious, you must superglue her boot lock, otherwise the superlative efforts of NAR and FONAR will go to waste, as while waddling parker woman might not be able to navigate her bulk over the back seats and gearstick without incident, she will surely send a small child to do so, possibly with disastrous consequences. You can't possibly allow that, so clearly supergluing her boot is the only sane and safe option.

notnaice · 18/02/2015 09:34

Now I do like the treacle idea some of the other ideas have been a little extreme

HSMMaCM · 18/02/2015 09:37

You could then go and ask for her help cleaning up the treacle which seems to have leaked out of her car Grin

var123 · 18/02/2015 09:43

I was thinking she would struggle to avoid getting it in the footwell and once she'd moved the car she'd need to go home to change her shoes. Later she'd have a lot if cleaning to do.
all this would be more of a pain than just walking an extra couple of yards.
