But it really really isn't.

I don't 100% believe it's a new clip until I hear it from the horse's mouth, but I have hardened my heart to the likelihood.

Still, it's not the destination but the pleasure in travelling in life sometimes, don't you think?

Spent today at home but put some red lipstick on in honour of this thread. All these glamorous starlets make me want to thrown on a marabou trimmed gown and lounge around nibbling chocolate truffles whilst raising my eyebrow.

There's usually an old fil on BBC2 on Saturdays. I watched Top Hat the other day.

Someone up thread said they asked an online question and answer site who said it's a made up clip but as far as we know the actual ad company or John Lewis haven't given an answer.

So the stubborn amongst us are holding out for an official answer.

I think it's new, but until JL says either way I'm not satisfied with the answer so far

'i think it's made up because I simply cannot think who she could be - and I have spent 50 years watching films like this. The only one she looks remotely like to me is Deanna Durbin. If it's a "real" film then I think it's a B movie and nothing really famous.

H god I love Liz Taylor. She was so beautiful when younger.

National Velvet is one of my favourite films.

BOF et al, I think you should ask to have this thread renamed and moved to classics, all these photos are too wonderful to disappear in 30 days whether we find out the answer we seek or no.
