Stupid Facebook selling.

Real post I've seen this week.

"Got some cheap stuff for sale if you want anything"

Cue 20 posts along the lines of;

"Have you got a patio heater hun?"

"No sorry"

Have you got a wheelbarrow?

No, haven't got a wheelbarrow.
Xx

3 days later the thread is still going strong. 20 people have been disappointed that the seller doesn't have what they want and the seller has made no effort to make any suggestion what she does have.

Sorry Lemon but I actually kinda like the lion king globe and its local to me - I may just buy it so I can plague you with more photos Grin

lemontwist · 31/10/2014 08:00

There's a really grim one circulating on ours that's a picture of chopped up bacon with the words 'Peppa pig jigsaw for sale' Hmm

Mrsjayy · 31/10/2014 08:13

Oh just Lold at doing the pumpkin

Ladymoods · 31/10/2014 08:24

Just spotted this one...

"Is anyone sell a Kage for ginpigs please message me"

YourKidsYourRulesHunXxx · 31/10/2014 08:26

Katharine I don't mind laughing at chancing gits trying to sell shit.

Plus your scorn is flawed, considering you think slagging off people with undesirable grammar is okay, just because you deem that element the funniest.

Margaritte · 31/10/2014 08:29

Just marking place. People are selling 'craft' bits on my local page too.

YourKidsYourRulesHunXxx · 31/10/2014 08:32

I get that there are people out there who try to make money, but it irks me that there are people out there sticking on pre-made embellishments onto Poundland tat and charging a 1000% markup. More fool the idiots that buy the disposable rubbish. I like seeing people with genuine sewing skills etc making a living (I'm on etsy every single day), and those who come up with original ideas, selling at a fair price. Not a poundland candle with a Comic Sans sticker on it and some cheap 'jewelz' (not to mention the fire hazard- they obviously don't have any safety licenses or perhaps do a tax return- that enrages me)

Margaritte · 31/10/2014 08:38

Agree with _YourKidsYourRules* Its a shame as its takes away from the all the lovely crafts that genuine people can make. Must be frustrating to spend days carefully crafting a lovely item to sell, then doing it all over again. All while around you people are buying glitter glasses.
I have a few pages I follow on fb, which are people with actual talent. I think they are all on etsy

YourKidsYourRulesHunXxx · 31/10/2014 09:45

I think it's also messed up how they leap on the bandwagon of a brand's success. Companies like Chanel (who I buy nothing from because I can't afford it) are successful because they are synonymous with quality, and yet you have these people who spend little or no time building a brand name, sticking decals and cheap plastic jewels on candles etc and then just feast on the aspirations of the public. What is the point? These people do not deserve any sort of income from this kind of venture because in short, they are pirating, lazy thieves. And the people who buy this garbage should be ashamed of themselves in a way, because at worst they are buying unregulated, toxic/choke/ fire hazard junk for their kids or whoever the recipient of this god awful shit is.

kids Exactly! I am FB friends with some amazing artists and craftspeople and regularly buy from them for gifts....the DDs winter hats etc are always made by the same girl who crochets and she's made them cardigans too...I have bought handmade toys from a girl who sews beautiful things.

I'm not going to tiptoe around people who as you said buy stickers, lob them on a glass and call it handmade!

CleaninQueen · 31/10/2014 10:17

Here's a little gem:
Wonted iPhone 5s/6/6 plus
Has 2 b sim free from apple with receipet and still b in the box.
Willing 2 pay up to 50 as for a Xmas pressey. And able to delever.
No offers so far Grin

AliceLidl · 31/10/2014 10:21

There's a man on ours this morning wanting toys for a 6yo and a 2yo.

Someone has suggested he tries B&M or Home Bargains, as he will be spoilt for choice Grin

There's nothing further on the Watch Seller and Friend of Seller's conversation, but I'm seriously thinking of sending both of them a friend request so I can find out whether 'she' ends up in the same boot as FOS with Voldemort or if the prayers to jeep have helped and she's dumped him.

myotherusernameisbetter · 31/10/2014 10:36

coconutty what kulur glittar hun? Can you do it for a gurl? or mibbiz in Frozen?

The best I've seen recenty are the empty jam jars filled with fake snow a bit of orange fimo and a couple of sticks that they are calling melted Olafs and charging 10-15 for!

IgnoreMeEveryOtherFuckerDoes · 31/10/2014 10:47

Hasn't the £5 white kettle and toaster with the Chanel gems stuck on it done for £25 done the rounds on any of your fb pages.

There is a very talented lady who does buttons, scrabble and baby frames designs yet someone else wants £45 to just stick your baby's first items in a frame!

emms1981 · 31/10/2014 10:51

A bloke on ours once was asking for free or cheap baby items, he wanted everything milk, cot, moses basket, clothes.
I couldn't help myself and said sorry if I'm nosey but why free? Thinking maybe they had a house fire or something awful.
He replied "we have had a hard year, had a wedding to pay for, moved house and needed another car" few posts up he's arguing with a woman because she won't sell him a tablet for half her asking price!. I had to bite my tongue

YourKidsYourRulesHunXxx · 31/10/2014 11:02

ClawHands I really envy people who have mastered knitting/ stitchwork. My mum was here last week trying to show me how to make a hat. She is a person who has spent years honing her craft, so to speak. She's so good at intricate work. A lot of these fb businesses are a joke, and give the word 'handmade' a bad name. They have no passion, just pseudo £££ in their eyes.

ClawHandsIfYouBelieveInFreaks · 31/10/2014 11:17

ignoreme Shock at the "Melted Olafs"!

CurlyWurlyCake · 31/10/2014 11:21

Someone is selling a positive pregnancy test.

£50 with the tag line - trap that man today

Lozzapops · 31/10/2014 11:31

lemontwist think we might be near each other, as I've seen that "peppa pig" puzzle too. Ugh!

emms1981 · 31/10/2014 11:42

I laughed once, a woman had 2 teddy bear outfits or something for babies and she put £1.50 each or 2 for £4 I said that's different, her freind came on and said haha what you like, she couldn't understand what was wrong with it she said no I'm giving people the option to just have 1 if they want.

Rollermum · 31/10/2014 12:23

Curly - no!! Outrage.

threepiecesuite · 31/10/2014 12:34

£20 for each of these monstrosities. No takers yet unsurprisingly.
