AIBU to think that comprehension just isn't a strong point with some people.

I've noticed this quite a lot over the time I have on MN.

Referring to a recent thread re early retirement. The poster quite clearly stated that DH wanted to retire in 14 months (when mortgage paid) and wanted her to retire at the same time. She is 10 years his junior and works part time.

OK, first answer was "So he wants you both to retire in early forties"

Second response "Can you change to part time work"

I can understand this if we were 10 pages into the thread because we don't all have time to read all responses, but come on, the first two responses?

My gas has just gone and the shop closed an hour ago My 2 year old pfb is asleep and I can't drive, DH is working in outer Mongolia. Help!

  1. Can you put DC in the car and drive to the shop?
  2. Can you call DH and ask him to get some on the way home?
  3. Do you have a teenager you can send?
  4. Is your dh financially abusing you?
QueenTilly · 30/09/2014 00:15

I think you should wear this La Speziale dress to the wedding.

MochaMeltdown · 30/09/2014 00:31

But OP, can you still fart?

Shockers · 30/09/2014 02:03

I have a large one across my upper back. It's a winged serpent with blood dripping from its fangs. I had it designed especially to go with my wedding dress. It symbolises sexual submission to my DH and it's lush.

giraffescantboogie · 30/09/2014 02:21

Does anyone know where I can buy a nice red rug? My last one got a river of sweetcorn on it :(

iMacHunt · 30/09/2014 03:28

MrsWombat · 30/09/2014 03:51

Is this a reverse thread?

revealall · 30/09/2014 06:03

Op you need to suck it up.
I made good choices and worked very hard to get where I am.

ninetynineonehundred · 30/09/2014 06:26

Going back to the original point. Yes I dislike it when people don't answer the original thread looks at everyone who has posted on the last 12 pages in a stern voice

fanjoforthemammaries7850 · 30/09/2014 06:36

Cool thread. Apart from the people being dicks with their wee digs about mentioning disability. No need really

Nessalina · 30/09/2014 06:46

I can definitely see a line!! Congrats OP Thanks

combust22 · 30/09/2014 06:54

I like him to give it a good lather with soap before we go down that route. Not being funny OP- but could it be his personal hygeine that puts you off?

7Days · 30/09/2014 06:55

wow. just wow.

Walkacrossthesand · 30/09/2014 07:14

Seriously derailed thread here, folks. OP, I know you're in shock, but do try to eat something - some soup, or a banana.

ViviPru · 30/09/2014 07:28

Well what did you expect if you didn't rinse your mince?

Shockers · 30/09/2014 07:35

I can no longer play on the DC's trampoline for this very reason Sad.

Delphiniumsblue · 30/09/2014 08:02

I blame the teachers.

HazleNutt · 30/09/2014 08:34

Yes, I also had a problem like this. But then I found this product and it totally changed my life, please check my the website!

AndyWarholsOrange · 30/09/2014 08:43

OP I have to confess that I've never really learned to bake but it's DH's 50th soon so I'd and the DCs would really like to bake him a cake so am after foolproof recipes.
He HATES fruitcake and DS is allergic to raisins so recipes for ANYTHING EXCEPT FRUITCAKE would be really appreciated.

Hi OP here is my very own recipe for extremely fruity fruitcake.

OP You do realise that dried fruit contains 188 grams of sugar per 100 grams!!!!!! No wonder your DS is obese!!

SextonBlake · 30/09/2014 08:43

^ THIS.

Thebodyloveschocolateandwine · 30/09/2014 08:47
