Any positives about a YES vote, for the English? (light hearted)

The Weather on TV will be a LOT shorter.

We will only have to wait 5 minutes for the weather girl to get round to us, instead of the usual 15 minutes, while they go all round the houses Scotland etc. Grin

He hasn't got in now Redcoats - he had to give it back (I hope!!!!)

Legionofboom · 18/09/2014 17:20

Do we have to keep the same National Anthem? Could this be an opportunity for a more catchy tune?

ouryve · 18/09/2014 17:21

I've always thought that gallimaufry is a superb and much underused word

CogitoErgoSometimes · 18/09/2014 17:22

I nominate 'I Will Survive' as the new anthem. With lots of finger-pointing in a vaguely northerly direction at the part about ... go... go out the door... just turn around now....

SDTGisAnEvilWolefGenius · 18/09/2014 17:23

One upside for the rest of the UK - I will probably be moving back from Scotland - you lucky people!

FoxSticks · 18/09/2014 17:24

If we can change the national anthem I vote 500 miles! That will teach em for leaving us!

FoxSticks · 18/09/2014 17:25

I will survive Grin great choice - I'm changing my vote.

Legionofboom · 18/09/2014 17:26

Now those are two national anthems that would have people wanting us to win medals at the olympics so they could sing along as the dragon stampeding flag is raised.

misstiredbuthappy · 18/09/2014 17:27

Can we send gillian mckieth back :)

OwlCapone · 18/09/2014 17:31

The weather forecast will surely be better without Scotland. Less rain do you think?

Kimaroo · 18/09/2014 17:34

It's weird to think we might not be an island nation any more.
And they'll be yet another one to add to the 196 Countries of the World quiz on Sporcle. Honestly, what with South Sudan and Palestine as well I can barely keep up.

OwlCapone · 18/09/2014 17:36

It's weird to think we might not be an island nation any more.

We could fix that with a JCB and some dynamite.

CogitoErgoSometimes · 18/09/2014 17:36

Maybe Donald Trump is the 'OW'? Perhaps, post a 'yes' vote, he'll be sashaying south with sweeties, offers to be our best friend and promises of wind turbines....

Hulababy · 18/09/2014 17:40

SezzaLou02

But we English could say the same about anyone voting yes today, couldn't we?

This thread is in jest. We don't want Scotland to go. I think this thread makes that really obvious tbh.

bialystockandbloom · 18/09/2014 17:40

Frankie Boyle can be banned.

I'm concerned about Tunnocks caramel wafers though. Will they be subject to duty?

Legionofboom · 18/09/2014 17:40

YeGodsAndLittleFishes · 18/09/2014 17:41

We'll have a red white and green dragon flag with a black cornish cross over it and white and red roses, and possibly 3 lions.

The shippi g forecast will be well short south if the border, with a lot less gale force 10 going on.

Hulababy · 18/09/2014 17:43

Holidays abroad, so much closer to home. I won't have to fly or sail either. Not sure it'll be a winter sun destination though.

YeGodsAndLittleFishes · 18/09/2014 17:43

We will all still be Brits though, won't we? JCB and dynamite notwithstanding.

Legionofboom · 18/09/2014 17:43

OK so we make sure all the haggis are safe, grab all the salmon (not salmond), shortbread, irn bru and Tunnocks products we can manage plus a deep fried mars bar for onelastfling to try and then we go in with the JCB and dynamite right?

And just as Scotland is floating away we throw Gillian McKeith and Lorraine Kelly right back at them.

YeGodsAndLittleFishes · 18/09/2014 17:45

Ah, but Hula, pick a good day and the right hire car snow plough and you could drive to a foreign skiing holiday!

FoxSticks · 18/09/2014 17:45

Banishing Frankie Boyle and Gillian Mckieth are big pluses.

Ididntseeitsoitdidnthappen · 18/09/2014 17:47

I wonder if anyone has tried to physically detach two nations before...

I can bring a shovel

YeGodsAndLittleFishes · 18/09/2014 17:48

Is it Lorrain Kelly in that advert I just saw with them all dancing around in a shop? I like that. We can keep that?

TSSDNCOP · 18/09/2014 17:50

I worry that the Tuk a Fuk flag is starting to look a bit busy.

Although I like the new anthem. Rousing. Can be sung on roller skates wearing leg warmers whilst pointing. What's not to like.
