I still have my Body Shop bags. DD uses them for school. They say...

"Don't go around saying the world owes you a living. The world owes you nothing, it was here first"

"Give a man a fish, feed him for a day. Teach a man to fish, feed him for life"

And the other just has a Body Shop logo on it.

People used to have 'nice' carrier bags too. River Island bags were much coveted iirc.

MinimalistMommi · 04/02/2014 18:44

Well I started going out all night from 97 ... it was combats, crop tops, silleto boots and bomber jackets with orange linings and rucksacks. Oh and I remember a see through cream lace shirt which I wore with a black wonderbra .... I was the gay scene and the bit I was in was house with lighters waving in the air and drugs for some ... it was a shock when I married a man. Music wise I remember Placebo, Suede, blur and oasis plus a million and one dance tunes. Oh and pulp.

Fuckalella · 04/02/2014 18:52

Grin he was in the pub with his mates, he read it went straight to the bar and ordered three double whiskeys!

Poppiesway · 04/02/2014 18:59

Notso... Was it he type of pager that you had to ring the company up and dictate the message so the sent it out..
I can imagine the persons having a giggle as they typed that and sent it out to the number..
I had to page my parents when I was rushed to hospital with ds1.. Although the message never did go through and they only realised when they'd stopped off... Looked brought front window and saw my hospital bag was gone..

Ocean colour scene. The songs were soundtrack of my teens.

Felix90 · 04/02/2014 19:05

When beanie babies were the 'in' thing, my Aunty spent an absolute fortune collecting them all. She even went on a special trip to the US just so she could buy a special edition one which cost an arm and a leg Shock

AntoinetteCosway · 04/02/2014 19:08

God, all of the above but especially River Phoenix.

Also videos, web chatrooms, phone cards...

Wonder what people who were teens in the noughties will say. Nothing really stands out for me. Facebook?

AmazingBouncingFerret · 04/02/2014 19:08

Reebok classics, pedal pushers and kappa jacket.

Thick black kohl eyemakeup and heather shimmer lipstick.

Hair was scraped back with two bits left hanging down at the front.

Thin eyebrows.

Happy Hardcore.

Being given £5 every Friday and being able to buy ten lambert and butler, a litre of dirty white cider to cane with your mates at the park and still having enough change for a bag of chips on the way home.
