To wonder how many different ways you can come up with to say YABU to this

Just always fascinated by how a post that only seems to have one possible answer ie YANBU can be turned on its head, mis-read, mis-interpreted, taken out of context etc in order that the OP can be told they ABU.

So, to this perfectly obvious YANBU example how many ways can different posters find a YABU angle?

The driver said 'one passenger only' and the person behind me pushed me to one side and got on. YABU. The bus driver didn't say 'only the first person in the queue to board the bus'. He said 'only one passenger.'

At that point, it was open to anyone in the queue to deem them self to be the 'one passenger' and the queue was no longer functional because no matter how long you waited in the queue, only one of you was going to get on the bus.'

The current economic climate means we all have to make sacrifices. There simply aren't enough seats on the bus for everyone to get one.

The person behind you was probably the bus driver's wife and he had forgotten his sandwiches for lunch and she pushed you to one side and jumped on the bus to give him the sandwiches.
But of course you had to take umbrage and walk off muttering about people skipping the queue.
Is suppose you would prefer people to starve rather than you have to wait a few extra minutes to get on the bus.
I am very tempted to report you OP as my DH is a bus driver and I am finding this thread very upsetting.

YABVVU. Maybe that poor person had amnesia and completely forgot they hadn't been at the bus stop first.

Or maybe their annoying and interfering MIL hadn't bothered to collect the DC from nursery like she promised so the passenger had to dash there and collect them herself.

Or maybe her bridezilla friend was having a panic attack at the cake shop because the icing wasn't the same shade of pink as the bridesmaids dresses and she had to get there asap to calm her down.

Why on earth would you just assume she was 'skipping the queue'??? What a ridiculous assumption to make.

Perhaps she had pre-paid a ticket, meaning that she in fact had a seat on the bus, just hadn't taken it up yet. You, meanwhile, only wanted a seat on the bus.
