Weird things your body does, and you wonder if it happens to others too?

I know Im not the only one.

I cant even be arsed to name change, here goes.

Nervous fanny.

You know when someone falls - hard and cracks their chin or elbow or whatever, my stomach drops, I get a shot of anxiety that shoots through the pit of my stomach down to my fanny. Right in the middle of my fanny I get a horrible feeling of anxiety.

Its only started in the last few years, its really unpleasant. Its like a bolt of aniexty, and I ONLY get it when someone hurts themselves. Wtf is that all about?

Anyway, what weird shit does your body do? Confess.

Self-explanatory really. Sometimes for no reason it feels like someone's shoved a javelin up your arse. The pain is intense and excruciating - you suck in a pause and freeze whatever you're dong. Then it goes away just as quickly.

Cut and pasted my own post for orangesandlemons. Must be against MN etiquette but what the hell.

I have a squeamish fanny, similar to nervous but mine is quietly confident until I see a paper cut

I also get javelin arse. But only in the right side of my bum hole.

Including spelling mistakes - "suck in a breath" and "whatever you're doing" Blush

notgeoff I get that ear aching too. It really hurts to touch it and almost feels like you need to click it into place or something?

When I get into bed I sneeze 3 or 4 times every night. And most nights just when I'm at the point of dropping off I get a random string of itches. Arm, leg, head etc. usually 3 or 4 places.

tastes like panda I get that swelling up thing! I have never told anyone either. I haven't had it recently but for me its like you have to move really slow when you are all swollen up. I can lose it quite quick though and I enjoy it so try not to.

ladywithnomanors I also get stabbing pains up my fanjo. Not very often, but they are excrutiating. Take my breath away.

Also get sneezes when plucking parts of my eyebrows

And can orgasm in my sleep

And forglaciermints the thigh/ball twanging thing - that is the cremasteric reflex. Perfectly normal.

If I'm reading or concentrating on something and there is something brightly coloured or stripy in the background the colours "jump." If I actually look at the bright object the jumping stops. It's very very distracting and annoying.

I also get fanny twitch. Also when I rub a certain area of my foot I can feel it in my fanny. Grin

Oh, and in the same vein of twitchy eyelids and sleep orgasms (of which I get both)...

I get a twitchy fanny after orgasming. Like a weird pulse that you can actually see.
Alway assumed this was normal but maybe not!

Does anyone else have the thing where it feels like an elastic band has 'pinged' inside their neck?! I dread to think what it is, it only lasts a second but is just EXCRUTIATING. Please tell me I'm not the only one & that my neck is not one day going to spontaneously snap?

I get muscle twitches in my calf muscles. Similar to eyelid twitches but go on for hours. Especially after a lot of walking. Fascinating to watch.

Aha, Panda my head sometimes stays the same but my body shrinks in the same way... movement makes it all right itself.

Tasteslikepanda I used to get that! For years!! I used to get (at night!) an overwhelming feeling that I was enormous and that everyone else was tiny. Really tiny.

Havent had it years.

Oh, and the random itch somewhere that is actually an itch somewhere else - that is probably due to the sensory homunculus So two places that are actually far apart on your body may be next to each other in the brain, so the nerves get 'confused' sometimes as to which part is which. It's why some people find feet/toe sucking erotic - they're next to each other in the brain.

Yay, we are not alone! It's not an unpleasant situation, it certainly doesn't worry me, so I do just tend to ride it out... but I do have to check just to make sure I am not actually puffing up!

Doesn't it just show, we're not half as unique as we like to think we are. Which is quite comforting really

Oooh I used to get the growing-to-gigantic-proportions feeling too - like my hands were huuuuuuuuuge with great big enormous fingers.

I always put it down to the fact I used to smoke a ridiculous amount of weed, and it very rarely happens since I stopped.

Report
fluffygal · 19/07/2012 22:44

Oh by moving slowly I mean in my puffed up state in my head not moving physically. Ah I miss it, hope it happens soon. Its like everything around me has puffed up to into massive cushions.

Report
BulletProofMum · 19/07/2012 22:45

I used to get it too, and still smoke the weed ;£
