Weird things your body does, and you wonder if it happens to others too?

I know Im not the only one.

I cant even be arsed to name change, here goes.

Nervous fanny.

You know when someone falls - hard and cracks their chin or elbow or whatever, my stomach drops, I get a shot of anxiety that shoots through the pit of my stomach down to my fanny. Right in the middle of my fanny I get a horrible feeling of anxiety.

Its only started in the last few years, its really unpleasant. Its like a bolt of aniexty, and I ONLY get it when someone hurts themselves. Wtf is that all about?

Anyway, what weird shit does your body do? Confess.

Orgasms in sleep! Is that not normal then?

I have sweaty knee-caps - have noticed when I go to the gym I get sweat patches over my knees even when I don't anywhere else (it's not due to trousers being loose and coming into contact with my knees more than anywhere else, it happens in tight legging type joggers too...)
I get the twitchy eye thing too, very much stress related! Had it for weeks starting a job I was really anxious about, which reqired a lot of fine-motor dexterity - I could SEE my sodding eyelid twitching when I was trying to do things!

Nervous fanjo. Prickling palms when trying not to cry. And either of my kids vomiting leads to a total bowel evacuation for me within seconds of finishing cleaning and comforting child.

I get javelin arse when I ovulate

Report
Tortoise · 19/07/2012 22:21

I know others get this because I've read it on mn before!
My fanjo sucks up bath water! Always seems to release it just after I get dressed which means wet knicks. Very annoying!

When I'm throwing something down the stairs like the laundry bag, or a towel, or perhaps some of ds2's soft toys out of his loft bed when I'm changing it, I feel all weird like I'm falling too Confused

My eyeballs make a clicking noise sometimes when I lie on my side.

If I sleep on my side and DH curls up behind me he cannot breathe on my back, or it gives me stabbing pains in my side.

So far javelin arse linked to periods and ovulation. Not really linked to your bum though?

Quite a few of the things listed here....what is the explanation for the feeling of having hot or cold water spilled or poured on you? Had that several times - and have quite often had to check that there is no water around!

I also have a 'funny ear'. It aches into the ear canal, and is painful to touch all around there if I have been anywhere near a draught on that side. It has started to click a bit now when I lay on it. The other ear is fine.
At the moment I also seem to have some form of tinnitus or possibly just blocked ears - when I am drifting off to sleep I can hear a low throbbing noise which I assume is the blood rushing around my ears. A few nights ago the throbbing was replaced by a weird dripping noise (sinus?).

Oh, yes, I forgot the post bath whoosh, Tortoise!

Why does it stay up there so long, ie until I'm fully dressed Confused

Occasionally, if I am laying in bed, I get the strangest sensation that I am swelling up to massive proportions, like Alice, when she eats the cake (or drinks the drink - whichever one makes her grow)
It feels like I could burst, or fill up the whole room, but then if I open my eyes, and kind of 'ground' myself by touching the wall, then it goes away.

I have never confessed that to anyone. Ever.

garlic yes to the itching too! I've been known to use a fork to try and stop it in the middle of the night when I just want to bloody sleep! But nothing stops it!

I do the sleep jerking thing. When I was younger my mum told me it was because I was having an outer body experience and the was my soul jumping back in. My mum is a freak.

And the eye twitching thing drives me insane!

Hahahahha, am killing myself laughing here. I do gleek, and can do it at will. I get crawling skin on my scalp when certain points on my back are touched.

The coolest thing my body does is remember things for me - you know when you walk into a room and forget why you were in there? Or open a draw and forget what you were looking for? My hands start miming what it was, and sometimes I'll even make an embarrassing noise, too, so for scissors, I'll be doing scissor hands and making snippy noises. The other day I was looking for a zester and did a great noise, it made me laugh out loud. Then blush. DP thinks I'm eccentric.

Yes to the nervous fanjo! Thought I was some sort of freak!

I sneeze when I'm tired, I get the twitchy eye, and if I stroke the left side of my torso it feels like someone else is stroking the outside edge of my right thigh.

When I lie on my back all quiet at night, I can actually hear my blood fizzing up through the back of my neck, and feel it bubbling through my veins, only at the back of my neck. I swear I am pumping Vimto! And if anyone pulls my hair I sneeze immediately, and yes to pain/itch in one place equals pain/itch in completely odd place a million miles away. (I'm quite fat so that last bit is very nearly true...)

If I hold my nose and close my mouth and 'blow' (as if trying to pop my ears or something) air comes out of the corner of my right eye.

Discovered as a child after I'd had a nosebleed and my mum told me to be careful not to sneeze in case I set it off again.
I later felt a sneeze coming so held my nose and tried to keep my mouth closed.

Blood squirted out of my eye. Gross.

hiddenhome yes I get that too. I have to look away or shut my eyes if I'm dropping something or throwing something downwards, but even then I can "feel" whatever is it falling, and my stomach "flips" as if I was falling too. Very peculiar.

I get warm wet leg syndrome, only ever in one thigh, I am always so convinced that I have sat in something wet that I have to get dh to check to make sure my trousers aren't soaked

Mummmsy - there are now 3 of us (actually 2 because the only other one I found died a few years ago) but 3 known cases. I have to refuse offers of gum / mints or especially extra strong mints as, at my age, repeated sneezing can lead to er.......!
