Calling all overseas MNers - My lovely boy has written some letters

He's 7, and is quite taken by stamps.
He's written several letters (I'll give you an example in a minute), and I wondered if there might be some MNers in foreign parts who might help him :)

Here is one of his letters ( in very best joined-up writing:))

Dear Jamaica

If I writ you a letter, please will you send me one back, so I can see your stamps.
I am from England (Great Britan)
Good luck in the Olympics

There are similar letters for several countries, and his plan is to put them in an envelope with the country name on the outside, and several stamps.

Would anyone be able to send him a letter with a stamp on?

My DS1 is almost 8 - we're in Germany so al though he has some stamps and bits from here already - if he'd like a penpal then let me know!

my dd is 7 and would love to send him a letter. We're in ireland and I'm sure you have that already but if he likes postcards and donkeys we can send him a postcard from the west of ireland with a donkey on a it

We posted DD1s letter from Moldova on Friday. Post is very unpredictable though so you could get it next week or in three months time .

Finally got letter sent yesterday from NZ. Should take about a week to arrive. Some of my class wrote and asked some (fairly random) questions. I put a couple of used stamps in as well.

Time for an update :o
Sorry it's taken a while, I've had a busy few days.
I'll also do some pming - if I've left anyone out, it's not because I'm ungrateful, just organisationally challenged.

At the weekend, O had a lovely postcard from Denmark, and one from Italy.
A very generous MNer sent a whole sheet of special Canadian stamps with animals on, and loads of airmail letters (the sort that you write on then fold into an envelope shape)

Yesterday, he received a postcard from Tasmania, with platypus, echidna and lyre bird stamps, which he loves.

This morning, (O will open these when he gets home) we have a parcel from Kazakhstan (yay! Kazakhstan! :o), a letter from America, and a postcard from the UN in New York.

I'm really quite jealous of the fabulous places you all live!

I'm also thinking of starting a FB page, so if anyone wants to follow how he gets on and see pictures, they can! (please tell me if this is a crap idea!)

I'm sure some of the other Americans have already offered, but I would be more than happy to send him a letter and some stamps from Minnesota! :) And DS, who is almost5, would love to send him a letter I'm sure. :)

This is the first time I have seen this and it has made me a bit teary .

Reminds me of when I was younger and I had a lot of pen pals. I have one now but she is more a friend than a pen pal as we have met and text a lot as well as write.

I still think of YU who lived in Japan and we became penpals through school. We wrote for quite a few years and then it just stopped. I would so love to hear from her again but have no idea how to find her.
