But spierdalaj definitely is Grin.

garlicbutter · 30/03/2012 15:00

What are the Polish words for bye, tarar, cheers, see you later, take care, that sort of thing? Would make the most sense, no?

It's not really fair to criticise State for failing to correctly write a Polish word she's never heard in her life before Grin I thought she did bloody well in the argument!

garlicbutter · 30/03/2012 15:02

Heh, I just imagined a Polish mumsnetter on MNPolska, transliterating a Brummie's "tararfra bit" Wink

ovaltine · 30/03/2012 16:16

Maybe they have developed the English sarcastic sense of humour?

winnybella · 30/03/2012 17:20

Hmm, yes, could have it been 'kretynka' ? That would be Polish for female cretin.

StateofConfusion · 30/03/2012 17:50

just discovered google translate on my laptop i can hear the words, ive only ever looked on my phone, that will help, im going to start with garlics list as they make the most sense.

the car was gone until 1.30pm, and then gone when i arrived home at 3.15pm...

DrinkFeckArseGirls · 30/03/2012 18:02

Cze?? is hello and can be bye-bye too.
Bu?ka - kisses.

emotionalgymnastics · 30/03/2012 18:06

Hiya by law you are entitled to ask them what they are doing & to call the police & make them aware of it.

StateofConfusion · 30/03/2012 18:12

so far none of garlics list sound right, what other things do we say when leaving somewhere mind blank....

OP posts:
BareBums · 30/03/2012 18:29

Let's face it they don't do "normal" things so I doubt they say "normal" things either!

Riddo · 30/03/2012 19:14

Have spent over an hour reading this thread, it definately deserves it's place in classics Grin

StateofConfusion · 30/03/2012 20:33

so far on listening the closest sounding one that would remotely fit the situation is wkrótce which means back soon...?

my brain hurts.

its pretty hard though, i imagine if they tried to translate my family, dp northerner says bAth, i say bARth and the kids cant decide lol! so there they'd either get something to wash in or sick, iyswim?

they're still not there but dps informed me the funfairs on the common this weekend which would explain the eerie quiet on the estate.

StateofConfusion · 30/03/2012 20:35

and thank you riddo

the bmw dwellers are like mumsnets version of the class hamster, now who wants them for easter??

OP posts:
Bossybritches22 · 30/03/2012 21:31

Hate to rain on your (easter) parade State but d'you think possibly they're Estonian or Latvian?

Not the same at all I know but to those not accustomed to the lingo it might sound like Polish.

We have a large Eastern European community in Lincolnshire from a variety of former eastern bloc countries & I struggle to identify the right one, so say nuffink & smile in a friendly fashion in passing!

StateofConfusion · 30/03/2012 22:03

could be bossy i am completely and utterly clueless, me and dp only came to the possibility of polish due to there being 6 polish children in ds class

OP posts:
Bossybritches22 · 30/03/2012 23:28

A reasonable deduction Sherlock.......damn you're good! Grin

SuperSlattern · 31/03/2012 06:25

I do I do I do!

I never got the class anything at skool

Any news State?

bagelmonkey · 31/03/2012 08:49

What's happening this morning? Are they 'home'?

ovaltine · 31/03/2012 08:55

did they come home alone or did OB bring a fair girl home to get revenge for the other week? You know, i have a barn they could come live in for Easter?

StateofConfusion · 31/03/2012 11:10

they are indeed home, they arrived during the night between 1am and 7.30am.

Lots of condensation on the car so i cant update any further than that!

ovaltine i love the idea of them having a break in your barn, like an im a celebrity spin off Grin

Had a mini panic there when I thought I HAD LOST THIS THREAD Blush

Jackin · 31/03/2012 20:30

Are they still in there? Has the baby been born yet?

Jackin · 31/03/2012 20:31

ovaltine · 31/03/2012 20:56

imagine if the mum blocked her wifi and they couldn't watch stuff on their phone/laptop.

How you feeling state? Weekend been any good so far?

IvantaOuiOui · 01/04/2012 00:37

can we have a whip round and buy a giant stuffed Easter bunny toy and leave it on the bonnet when they're asleep?
