I'm quite sure I've just done something mad...

TMI alert! Have had a very bad tummy bug and am left in a position where venturing more that 30 seconds from the loo would be a foolish risk. I've decided that the water I'm drinking is passing through my body at great speed so in a rash moment I've swallowed a round piece of floaty plastic to time how long it takes to come out. I'm mad aren't I, too long on the sofa with only flat lemonade and salty crisps for company I think.

PMSL at the add-ons to the diarrhoea song!

Lostin, I hope that you have a restful night and that your piece of lego makes a miraculous reappearance first thing in the morning. And if you get any serious pains, go to A&E and for the love of God own up! Just in case it gets stuck somewhere nasty (which I hope it doesn't) They'll have heard much worse/sillier stories than this one, honestly.Grin

bulby · 04/11/2010 21:59

I hid behind a bush
And it came out in a rush
Diarrhoea, diarrhoea

QuintessentialShadows · 04/11/2010 22:02

bulby, that was dh in Egypt, to a tee!

PandaEisIsLookingForwardToXmas · 04/11/2010 22:20

Grin

NorbertDentressangle · 04/11/2010 22:22

I can't believe I missed this thread earlier and have now sat and read it only to find that the Lego has still not reappeared.

DD once swallowed a sparkly pink jewel that you use in arts and crafts. That reappeared the next day. Luckily it was decorating the outside of the poo that was bobbing around in the bowl so I didn't have to dig around and find it.

Teaandcakeplease · 04/11/2010 22:23

PMSL at stow away! Smile

NorbertDentressangle · 04/11/2010 22:25

Just remembered another sparkly poo in our household -the cat once ate a strand of that Xmas lametta (?) stuff and did a string of poos attached to the sparkly silver strand.

It looked like an alternative piece of jewellery! Grin

ChristmasTrulyReigns · 05/11/2010 00:03

Does anyone remember the phenomenon that was the Delia Effect? I think all the supermarkets ran out of cranberries within 24 hours of the show.

I am hereby anticipating the TigerFeet Effect.

ChristmasTrulyReigns · 05/11/2010 00:09

Oh and I'm taking my hat off to TeaRocks and the Aquafresh plan.

Kudos.

Kaloki · 05/11/2010 00:27

Can't believe there are 10 pages of this! Grin

toddlerama · 05/11/2010 08:54

Soooooo? Any lego yet??

goingroundthebend4 · 05/11/2010 08:55

bumping wonde rif said lego has reappeared

cherrybea · 05/11/2010 09:12

No sign yet? Come on I go away in a couple of hours!!!

lostinwails · 05/11/2010 09:37

Noooo! No lego! I 'fessed up to DH who in full scientist mode has decided that my methodology was terrible, lego probably doesn't float as much as I thought and I should have swallowed sweetcorn instead! The weird thing is he didn't seem at all surprised I'd done it, that's 18 years together for you. Anyway I think I'm going to have to spoil the fun and take immodium, much as I hate the idea I've lost three pounds since yesterday afternoon and it burns now! (although if you want stats, red peppers from cup a soup - 1.5 hours transit, which I'm impressed by!)

I went to bed last night feeling utterly grim but grinning at finding so much fun in what should have been a horrible day. (and no I cannot believe this got 10 pages either)

Here's to a weekend of sparkly baking!

Maisiethemorningsidecat · 05/11/2010 09:40

Well, where the hell is the lego then?

DaisyFields · 05/11/2010 09:44

Don't take imodium! I took it when I was 16 and didn't poo again for 6 weeks. I told a few of my friends and I was famous for it all year - it even made my 6th form year book. It is eeeevil stuff!

lostinwails · 05/11/2010 09:47

I think the lego is long gone, I just didn't test how well it would float if shot at high speed into deep water. (TMI) If a large piece of mushroom made it through an hour after tea the lego must have been and gone. I feel a failure I've let so many people down.

OP posts:
thumbwheel · 05/11/2010 09:55

oooorrrrr - it's stuck somewhere in a kink.[evil]

marriednotdead · 05/11/2010 10:13

This saga began as I was going out yesterday. So I've dutifully read/giggled through 240+ posts to discover that you've lost the bloody lego

Have concluded I'm as nuts as you were for swallowing it in the first place

Teaandcakeplease · 05/11/2010 10:24

Love the fact your H wasn't surprised at all at your experiement Smile

dinkystinky · 05/11/2010 10:27

Lostinwails - the lego is probably hard at work in your colon creating a lego city. I swear lego self-multiplies and is actually an alien lifeforce bent on taking over the world... Your thread has entertained me massively - thanks so much for sharing your lunacy Grin

Agree with not taking immodium - truly, truly evil stuff.

kreecherlivesupstairs · 05/11/2010 10:30

So, i could have won, possibly if you don't know what time you evacuated it?
A third vote against imodium. Nasty stuff.
Has the owner of the Lego discovered it is missing? DD is the messiest most disorganised child on this earth, however she knows to the toenail how many Littlest Pet Shop's she has.

PlentyOfPockets · 05/11/2010 10:46

I told you lego didn't float ... I told you! Sheesh!

Grin

hope you're feeling better.

StayingDavidTennantsGirl · 05/11/2010 10:48

How on earth did I miss this thread yesterday? It has to be one of the funniest things I have ever read on mumsnet - and if it doesn't make it into the Roundup, I shall Sulk!

Lostinwails - I think I love you!

AnnieLobeseder · 05/11/2010 10:48

I bow to your dedication to the scientific cause! We're not worthy, we're not worthy! And your DH should have been more understand of your poor experimental design, as you're poorly.
