Morning girls. Estar hope he is much better this morning. xx

triplets · 28/09/2009 08:03

Morning all..........how was your night Estar, hope he is much better. Morning Shabs! Morning Zippy, hope all is going well with our little zipettes!

ZippysMum · 28/09/2009 08:38

Hi all!

Just to let you know that I have uploaded pics of the Zipettes onto my profile.

News of the day is that I think I have mastitis - have been feeling a bit fluey for last couple of days, temperature yesterday, boiling hot then freezing cold and had suspected some sort of infection hence my question about mastitis yesterday. Have been massaging the boobs but this am found a lump in the rt one - quite sore, but not too sore to try to 'knead' away so have been trying to get rid of it that way.

Zipettes are doing fabulously (thouugh getting weighed by the midwife today so I may be on later panicking about weight gain...) Another thing on the list of twin things to love - hearing the 'glug, glug. glug' as both of them fill their tummies while they gaze at you, thinking "Who the heck is THAT crazy looking woman with the bad hair...?"

hope dt1 is better this morning, estar!

Hi zippy! we can't see the zipettes, your profile isn't visible.

Still at the grindstone, don't worry mars.

bagpuss · 28/09/2009 10:11

Zippy, we can't see - I think you may need to make your profile public. Glad Zippettes still well. Get the MW to prescribe some antibiotics for the mastitis and all will be well. Sympathies to you though as it isn't nice. I am welling up with your stories of newborn twins - can't wait for my turn (well I can because they need to stay put for now but you know what I mean!).

Estar, hope ds1 is better soon.

Dizzy, stay strong.

I am supposed to be doing laundry and resting . I'm not sure the two go hand in hand though . My mum is taking me for lunch though so something to look forward to at least.

Shabs, hope all is well in your little fishing village by the sea .

Must dash and re-load washing machine .

triplets · 28/09/2009 10:52

Mama Mia Rubester, arriverderci and all that!

ZippysMum · 28/09/2009 11:25

Think I have cracked it now. Let me know if you still can't see them.

Mastitis confirmed by the doc - getting antibiotics this afternoon. Breastfeeding consultant coming this afternoon at 1pm, midwife at 5pm.

Got DT1 (the strong sucker) on the mastitis side today - trying not to think about what he might be sucking up with his milk as I massage the 'lump' [yuk emoticon]

shabbapinkfrog · 28/09/2009 11:38

Zippy, OMG they are adorable. Well done again .

kathryn2804 · 28/09/2009 16:44

Hey Zippy

Don't worry about feeding feeding feeding. That's exactly what is best for mastitis! As the other post said, try different positions to empty breast fully, esp position baby so bottom lip is at the side of the lumps (if that's possible without doing a headstand or something!)

Mastitis is very common with twisn as the breast can over-supply, but definitely worth getting your latch checked as you've been having a bit of pain. Mastitis can be caused by the baby not removing the milk adequately from the breat.

Well done, hope the b-feeding counseloor person is useful.

kathryn2804 · 28/09/2009 16:45

Gorgeous pics by the way

pixiblue · 28/09/2009 19:02

Oh Zippy they are truly truly gorgeous I want another turn in the chair

FG thank you for being lovely and supportive and all round wonderful. x

Quick hello to Trips, Shabs, Mars, Chops, HM, LG&T (who has forgotten us but will never be forgotten), Doris (I will email you one day soon), Ruby , curiosity, Momma (I can visit Sat around 1.30 or can send dh after swimming at 9.30ish, I have tutorial 10-1) and everyone else I've missed off.

oooggs · 28/09/2009 20:15

zippy they are beautiful boys

pixi - had a terrible day with Erin & 'accidents' sick of changing wet pants and cleaning up poo but dh says that one bad day isn't to bad when she is normally doing so well - notice that he isn't doing the cleaning up bit

dizzy - hold in there, 22 weeks is fab and your parents sound great

ruby - enjoy Rome

estar · 28/09/2009 21:10

Oh zippy, I just want to hold their warm fuzzy heads against my face. I can almost smell them, they look so good. I especially love their noses - perfect.

DT1 is back after being on a nebulizer most of the night. He's got a chest infection which may have aggrevated asthma into life (or just be producing asthma-like symptoms). So that's DH, DS1, DS2 and DS4 all with inhalers now - lots of puffs in this house . A friend of ours was round and said how so many children are diagnosed with asthma now and I said randomly to DH (although the thought had honestly never entered my head before), 'Yes, it's because of people like you reproducing the genes into your offspring. A hundred years ago, you wouldn't have made it past childhood but thanks to better health provision, you're now able to breed and pass it on to more people.'

Is that a wierd thing to say to your DH? My head worries me sometimes.

curiositykilled · 28/09/2009 21:48

Oh zippy the zippettes are beautiful! They look so peaceful and don't look like they were so different in birth weight! What lovely little boys!

Not doing much for my boobs though - they are apparently desperate for a little babe or two to feed!

curiositykilled · 28/09/2009 21:50

maybe not, 37 weeks after going back to check - is that right lucya?

frumpygrumpy · 28/09/2009 21:51

estar, if we can't be honest with our partners............I think truth is easiest to deal with and he needs to feel that he has contributed in all ways!!

Ruby, thanks for asking, yes, DD1 loved it. I paced daily, nay hourly, and wrung my hands because I was a freak concerned for her safety (not the activities, more her sleepwalking at night off the premises etc). Anyway, I met her at half two on Friday afternoon and I was so pleased to have her home. Felt goooood.

Pixi, I am merely hovering in the ether, and always happy to be ears for you. Give yourself a break sometimes lovely girl xxxx.

Ooogs, its awful. I especially hated the pile of wee next to the toilet. Have you gone all out for total bribery? It helped me enormously. A couple of dolly mixture every time a wee went in the toilet. A Cadbury's chocolate finger for every poo. You can wean them off later.
