I know there was no time and I feel all weighed down with the responsibility of it all, but here we are ladies, a new home...

Just wanted to say Good night girls.

....small amount of gossip My DH was married once before me - if you get what I mean!!! He got married to his first love when they were both 16. They had a son who will be 39 in August. We have had a small amount of contact with him....things were very different in the 70's if a marriage ended...his lovely wife has just contacted me via Facebook. They dont live very far away - maybe 5 miles. DH's first wife always told him that his step Dad was his proper dad. This is sounding more like Jeremy Kyle as I type it!!

DH's firstborn son has three children - eldest two are very grown up!! Eldest son is in the Army and is the image of DH. Middle child is in her late teens and has a major heart problem but is doing well. Then the last child - son - is about 10.

So my DH has three other grandchildren apart from our Lewis. It is a strange, weird, heart wrenching, odd, good, nice, feeling!! A whole lifetime has gone by without us seeing DH's first son........oh life is very odd!!

I have always known about Derksters first son. BUT he kind of lived somewhere else on another planet!! Have met him about 6 times and he is a rough diamond, but a very lovely man.....xxx

Morning girls xx

TeaSleepFood · 14/04/2009 09:35

Morning! I have just been watching those links you posted Shabs. I know I'm hormonal at the mo but I have just been sobbing at the Susan Boyle one! Music often get me but wow!

Any way far too many exclamation marks, so on with the housework after a bit of DTs chocolate..

Shabs, that sounds really great! So lovely to have some contact with him. Sounds like quite a lovely result all round from a situation that could have been awful. Loved your Susan Boyle clip, I watched that the other night, she was amazing! That is kind of my accent, she lives in West Lothian which is close to here, we are Midlothian. I don't have her singing voice though

Please ignore me, I'm not meant to be here. I am doing emails and letters. As you can see.

its a bit un-nerving for Tommy to be Uncle to a 18yr old, 14yr old and 10yr old!!!.

Have put some new pics of Lew on my profile....he is good enough to eat.

life is too busy. All the time, too busy. I think I might just sell the new house, I'm worn out trying to get it ready for us.

School back tomorrow.
And hairdressers tomorrow will I go blonde again? What do you reckon?

shabster · 14/04/2009 19:05

Our lot dont go back till next Tuesday - mores the soddin' pity....tomorrow Tom has invited his friend around from 11am onwards has also organised for them to go swimming and for the friend to stay for tea!!!!!!!!!!!!! The swimming bit - either me or DH will have to take them there on the bus - wait for them and then bring them back. I have Lew here till 1.30 as well Oh yes and the best part of all 'Dont worry about bringing any money with you Jack, Mum will feed you and pay your busfare .......................'

frumpygrumpy · 14/04/2009 19:06

Ruby, fret not. We have every line of expertise on this thread and you have come to the right place! Just sit here on the recliner with this gin & tonic and help will come..................

frumpygrumpy · 14/04/2009 19:08

Sounds like the perfect job for your DH Shabs........that way you get Lew and CBeebies all to yourself and a 'peaceful' house into the bargain so you can cook, menu plan defrost the bread

And of course Rubes he doesn't need his hair washed every night. How long is he staying? Go with the co-washing thing.
