frumpygrumpy

I finally got around to seeing the film of that book you told me about - the Diving Bell and the butterfly. It was an amazing film, have to read the book when I get half a chance. I didn't know he died soon after, so it was a shock at the end of the film - really hit me!

Hello everyone, I'm not here, I'm revising

ChopsTheDuck · 18/09/2008 10:32

re: delaying periods, the indian custom is to drink lots of milk. No idea if it works!

estar · 18/09/2008 11:05

Hi Chops!!

FG - mine do the Cillit Bang thing too, no matter what spray cleaner they see! And whenever they see a dishwasher tablet, it's 'FINISH. The diamond standard.'

Pixi, are you moving again? I'm a bit lost. And ow at your story And also, this time last year, DS1 had just started his new school, hated it, had no friends, would not do any reading or homework with me without a major trauma, etc. But now he is doing great, has a close circle of friends, loves to read and his new year 2 teacher is singing his praises at how much he is paying attention and contriuting in class. I was - what a different child!

My 23 year old cousin got engaged to her 50 year old boyfriend last night.

What do I say??

oooggs · 18/09/2008 11:14

Congratulations - hope you are all ok estar

Trips - I am gutted (for you of course)

Momma/Trips - the kitchen has new floor but we are currently changing the worktops, sink, taps, tiles and paint to match the adjoing utility which have nearly finished (dh sawing now!)

Oh Trips for you. Hope you find something.

Hi estar Long time no see .

Running the bath last night, I thought I'd just quickly clean the loo - DD1 says 'Cool mummy, you've got Harpic Power Plus' . Wow, thought I, her reading's really coming along. So I asked her 'did you read that from the label?' 'No Mummy, I saw it on Nick Jr' . But then there's the upside of tv...DH nearly fell off his chair on holiday when DT1 suddenly came out with 'unos, dos, tres, quatro, cinquo' (we were in France, so practising French, not Spanish). He didn't understand how she could know how to count in Spanish, so I explained he had Dora to thank .

Hello everyone else. Rubes, you smell nice .

largeginandtonic · 18/09/2008 12:37

Helloooooooooooooo you lovely lot!

DH back to work so normal life\no life reinstated in the gin household.

I am fat, i mean my ass is spreading faster then flora at the moment. I blame the girl hormones personally.

How is evryone? Pix did you implement the G&T working day?

Estar just read about your cousin

Ooogs are you feeling better?

Mars i need tips on keeping the baby in, i fear it will attempt an early escape like the other previous 2 at 32 weeks. DH is on a no sex ban from 26 weeks, i plan to limit activities but reality is dh will be away form 30 weeks, home occasionaly at weekends. I am thinking visualisation techniques? What do you think?

Oooooh it's nice to be back.

MarsLady · 18/09/2008 14:55

Start talking to that baby LG&T and tell the baby that you aren't expecting it any earlier than 36 weeks. Be off your feet as much as possible (yeah... I know) and don't lift things. Visualisation should help. But BE GENTLE WITH YOURSELF!

MommaPoshBird... do we know her? lol

According to the gp I am officially run down. I'm now on antibiotics to kick whatever infection I have and to try to ease the allergic reaction I am having to something.(eczema awful at the mo, even affecting my eyes). She was when I said I was still b/feeding Prince and cancelled the anti histamines. So girls how do I make myself run up? Extra sleep/rest not an option. Try to eat well but hard when so exhausted. Brain can't even remember to take a vitamin everyday. She said I must go back in two weeks if not better for blood tests etc and not just leave it this time.

LGT we're using many of your tips.

estar our rental expires on 20th Oct, so far we're homeless after that. Good to hear about your ds, there's hope for mine yet then.

Leoloopydoo · 18/09/2008 20:26

Pixi, big hugs honey. The only way to get run up is all the things you can't really do in the next few years.... rest and less stress. Vitamins everyday (did the doctor check your iron) may help.
I had a really bad time a couple of months ago and was lucky that I am still working and could take time off sick and still have babysitters looking after kids 2 days a week.

I'm happy today, have 4 days at home and only 18 more working days before i finish.

Triplets I can't follow your holiday hunting thing, but I hope you find something.

Estar, I hope he is a young and fit 50, dh is turning 50 and is, but I still can't imagine him (or someone his age) together with a 23 year old !

triplets · 18/09/2008 22:41

Hi ladies,
Pesky kids still talking upstairs, just got the boys quiet and now its Rebecca, grrrrrr! Makes me uptight as poor H is really poorly today. He has been in bed since lunchtime ,and has eaten nothing since then, 4 spoons of soup. He has lost so much weight that everyone is noticing, it is breaking my heart to see him look this way. The lady with the holiday house has mailed me and now offered us 40% discount which brings it down to our budget..................but...........now I am afraid that if I book it(have to let her know tomorrow) and H isn`t well we will lose all our money. We already have annual travel insurance which was taken out before his diagnosis, but have had to tell them about the cancer and so thats not covered on the policy. To try and get him separate cover is extortionate, what to do?

shabster · 18/09/2008 22:43

Good evening girls!!

Trips - so wish I could help you....not sure how....just wish I could do something to lighten your load.

shabster · 18/09/2008 22:45

Leo at your turning 50 theory!! Not sure if I could keep up with a 23 year old - I turn 52 early December!! Mind you, wouldn't mind having the opportunity to give it a try!

triplets · 18/09/2008 22:58

Hi Shabs, just been over on the sunshine thread! Dh has just got up, thought he might come down for a cup of tea and perhaps something to eat, but he has gone straight back to bed! We haven`t had a meal together for over a week, even though I sit there with the kids I feel lonley. It reminds me of after Matthew died and H went back to work, I would sit at the table all alone, looking at his empty chair Oh Shab, life is a bummer at times......pass the bombay mix will you?

shabster · 18/09/2008 23:07

Got some home made hot chilli con carne if that is of any use. Will have a bum like the opening credits of Bonanza in the morning - trust me to lower the tone even so late at night

shabster · 18/09/2008 23:08

Sorry couldn't resist

triplets · 18/09/2008 23:09

Shabs I could just eat that, any puppodums to go with?

triplets · 18/09/2008 23:12

Guess what?(swanky emoticon coming up) I have been to the actual Ponderosa where it was all filmed! Couldn`t find little Joe anywhere though

shabster · 18/09/2008 23:14

No but Im sure we could improvise!!!

I have to go to bed Trips I am so tired that I cant see straight. Tom has been put in the top set for all his subjects but that means masses of homework. He got a bit out of his depth tonight. He had four subjects including French!! We ended up laughing out loud because I was remembering my school French and we were translating basic words into Greek and back into English!!

Me: If I said Yassoo in Greek what would it mean

Tom: It would mean hiya

Me: So what do you reckon Bonjour means?

Tom: Oh yes, I remember now, it has been our first French lesson today mum!!

Im going to bed. Night night Trips. Sagapo, Kale Nits xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
