Trips, I say Trips (in Corries Fred Elliot style) you said who is Marti Pellow? Marti Pellow is the lead singer with Wet Wet Wet. He is delicious and delightful - well he was d & d when he was a drug addict and chubby and young with lovely teeth. Now he is clean, and too too skinny, and sensible. You have to love a bad lad dont you? We are watching lympics right at this minute. Come on Paula - surely you cant need a wee yet!

shabster · 17/08/2008 01:41

you already knew who Marti was didn't you Trips? Im off to bed....head full of pink frogs, heart full of troubles and problems. Going to finish watching the lympics with our Paula running the marathon and then up the dolly dancers. Night girls, sleep tight. Kale Nits, sagapo from Shabby

shabster · 17/08/2008 02:02

Come on Paula Radcliffe - we need another gold medal in lympics. xx

Morning Momma - thank you.

piximon · 17/08/2008 10:16

I'm tired. My birthday was spent in 8hrs of traffic jams travelling to London. I had a packet of crisps for lunch and dinner was eaten at 9.30pm when we finally arrived at my dad's. DH had bought take away curry for us as my present.

We've decided to go ahead with the banding treatment for DT2. We've been told it might not work, but are clinging onto the belief that it might. I would hate for DT2 to turn around one day and ask us why we never bothered. So am £2000 more in debt. He'll go for the fitting in a few weeks when his helmet is made.

Seeing best friend was wonderful. Was only planning to stay an hour or so. Ended up staying so long we went straight to the clinic then drove back home to Devon. Feels so nice to have a best friend again. Never accepted how much I've missed her.

Momma - are you ok now? Is there anything you want a hand (or 14 hands) with?

triplets · 17/08/2008 10:34

Goodmorning girls, not that it is here, I am fighting to keep cheerful for the kids sake but feel like running a thousand miles to be honest. H up 4 times in the night to empty Doris(those up late last night will know there is an intruder in the house) he is obviously feeling rotten with the chemo, snapped at me this morning because the phone rang, I was in the shower and he was having a cup of tea, anyway he stormed back off to bed and is still there. Its peeing it down, Im broke, the kids are bored, and I just want to shout aghhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh! This is just when you want one of those early offers of help, please someone take the kids off of me today! This road seems to be getting longer and longer, reminding me now of how life was 14 years ago. I know its different, but I am feeling lost and sad and I dont know what to do about it. I know tomorrow will be different...........?

TiggerLicious · 17/08/2008 10:37

Mornng all

Do you know I have free weekends?!! No kids Friday till Sunday !!!!!
Pixi I feel weird about disturbing you at the weekend, because I don't know if you do the family thing, but if you are up for a weekend visit let me know

TiggerLicious · 17/08/2008 10:37

Morning Trips.x.x.x.

triplets · 17/08/2008 10:49

Goodmorning Tigger,
I must seem a miserable old bovine!!! Just struggling to remain sane atm. What a horrible year this has been. You have been missed on here, is all ok with you?

frumpygrumpy · 17/08/2008 12:19

Trips, what can I say? Darling, you are so needing a break in the clouds. This is a moment. It will change again. You just have to get through this morning, and then this afternoon and then this evening and then its a new day. Little steps. Its no wonder you feel crap, its ALL crap. Hate it for you.

What can you do today? Make popcorn and watch an old favourite DVD with the kids? Swap kids bedrooms? (Always a laugh after you passed the point where you wished you'd never begun). My mum and dad didn't have much money when we were growing up and I loved swapping round my room and seeing everything differently. Bed on another wall made the world feel different. Cheap, busy and you get to have a clear out at the same time.

frumpygrumpy · 17/08/2008 12:20

Tigs....every weekend? Do you like it?

HarrogateMum · 17/08/2008 16:01

Where is everyone? Hi Tigs, nice to see you here again (not that I am here much either)!

Can I just mention that I did a 6.5 mile run this morning...? I am training for a 10km run in 3 weeks time....and really want to do it in under an hour. Todays 10k time was 1 hour and 3 minutes so still work to be done!

Only thing is bloody DH, he has announced he might have to go to India on business the same weekend that it is on, oh and my parents will be in Portugal then....I am so mad with him and have otld him he will have to change it - I had to cancel my second counselling appointment on Friday because he had a meeting that he "had" to go to. Anyone else feel like their needs are always bottom of the pile?

HarrogateMum · 17/08/2008 16:05

ps happy belated birthday to Piximon! And happy birthday today for DingDong!!!

shabster · 17/08/2008 17:45

HM know what you mean darling.....Im under the bottom of the pile in our house

HarrogateMum · 17/08/2008 17:49

ha Shabs - tell me about it - it just took me about 2 weeks to sort someone out to watch the kids so I can get my hair dyed (serious badger stripes right now)....as DH had promised and then gone back on the deal...

shabster · 17/08/2008 18:03

Reckon we should do a 'Shirley Valentine'? We musn't forget to pick up Trips on the way to Greece!

.....and frumpster, rubester, largeG&T and pixie, and momma, mars, gruesome, neerly. I never learn do I? Never, ever make a list of people on Mumsnet

and everybody at the sanctuary and on the sunflower thread......

HarrogateMum · 17/08/2008 19:22

FG can take us in the chopper! She might need a sidecar on for all of us though......

oooggs · 17/08/2008 19:37

hello

oh trips - life is rubbish for you at the mo - the weather doesn't help - makes everything expensive

only 6 more backshifts to go then dh on leave for two weeks wey hey

TiggerLicious · 17/08/2008 20:55

Trips you are nothing but lovely as always, just wish I had the right words for you.

Frumpy, I did love having the kids away when things were good in my life, but to be honest the last couple have been quite hard, lot of sobbing and wallowing, too much time to think.....which is why I am getting another motorbike so I can Fok off every weekend and have little mini adventures like I used too, famous five style....except I'll be the Original One PMSL. Just sent off for my licence,my big old grizzley Grebo mate is sorting my out with a cheap bike (Lives next to Mad Mike Shabs)and I am booking in my two tests, pricey but oooohhhhhhhhh so worth it in the end!!!!

MERLYPUSS · 17/08/2008 21:11

Trips - I feel for you. Come and 'borrow' my DTs adn I'll swap you for the trips for the weekend. I'm good with 10yr old as I am a cub leader. We can go and make dens, light fires, get filthy, knot people to trees, cook slop in a pot in the woods, get rained on, tell spooky stories and stay up late. Alternatively, I can spoon feed orange muck to my two only to have it hurled up on my new top's shoulder and you can break up fights and tell yours off for not going to bed.

triplets · 17/08/2008 21:59

When would you like them Merly?? They have truly driven me demented today. Boys are soooooooooooo loud, just being boys, Becs is soooooooooooooooooo bored and has fretted all day as she had a slight rash on her cheek, made them go for a long walk with me this afternoon hoping to wear them out, no chance, its 21.50pm and I can still hear them. Tonight though they get until 10pm, then the bed settee is coming out and one of them is going on it.......................9.55pm
James is on the bed settee, couldnt stand it anymore, H gets so wound up when he feels like this, its just not fair, and hes only had 3 chemo cycles so far!!!!!!!!!!!!

Trouble is I need time on my own after everyone finally gets to sleep, so I end up staying up till almost 1am, cannot just go to bed, could if I could read but cannot put the light on because of H! Talking of H he has just got up and is back in the loo, bloody Gladys, for those of you on here late last night, Doris got dumped today, a Tena Lady would have worked better, more washing!! Back later, going to find a drink!

Trips - come to Harrogate, have a spare room and lots of booze and good food. Get up here for a few days and let me look after you!

accordiongirl · 17/08/2008 22:24

Oh Trips Trips Trips, poor you. Know what you mean though about time after everyone else is asleep. Hence being here! Good luck tonight, hope it's peaceful... ish.. as it can be. DH whispering down the stairs to come to sleep. He's knackered after his late night session with Paula. So night night, saggy poos or whatever it is you and shabby whisper to each other so sweetly.

LOL FG about the tibetan waxworks. . Or should we say tibetan wasworks with sticky plasters on their noses.
