Lydle I missed your post until I saw Chops' reply. I say to DS1 when I see pics of monkeys "look it's you DS1" and I call him a monkey a lot, but I wouldn't say it to a black or mixed race person for fear of causing offence. I do think the girls on the bus were probably not being racist but just being 11 year old girls, but I would be and if anyone said anything like that to any of mine (we are caucasian). I got a bit upside (inwardly) yesterday when two 3-year olds told my 2-year old DS1 he was not allowed to play with them at softplay .

Chops hope my hair looked good in your dream.

Shabs, I feel for you being the strong one. Luckily for me I rely on DH to be the strong one, but if he ever fell apart I would like to think I would suddenly find I could be strong after all (am strong when on my own with DCs etc, will put a fight to anyone that tries to get in my way!). Maybe if you let your guard down your DH might show he can be the strong one too (or have you tried that one before?).

As for young Em, I would, as Mars says, get the bleeding checked to be sure. I bled alot after both my births, for 6-7 weeks, but it did calm down after the first week or two and was a lot less (although poured out when I did too much). I was an emotional mess for the first couple of months with DS1, and only better this time because I had my lovely doula coming each day saying "so have you had breakfast, what have you got planned for supper, go and lie down now etc etc". It sounds like you are doing all of that for Em and am sure she will be just fine. I also was below my pre-preg weight both times during the first few weeks after birth, am back to normal now.

Anyway, both DTs are grizzling and DS1 is shouting "don't like Tommy Zoom" so had better go.

Tried it egg.....it doesn't work!! All will be well x

Shabs - you got mail . Sorry I missed you last night.

Egg, I couldn't open your post, so I will just be jealous of your lovely-sounding hair without having seen it!

Lydle, on your behalf. Glad your DD wasn't upset.

I say 'hello mr magpie how's your wife and children?' every time I see a single magpie - the DDs do it now too! .

Sh*t got to run, late for school run!

brucelovesfrumpygrumpy · 25/06/2008 08:58

Sorry, I have to be quick.

Shabs how crap! Lovely neighbour though, great words. Em is doing too much IMHO. She should be doing as little as possible. Is she still b/fing? She should be settling on the couch/bed at every feed, with telly, mags, phone, food and drink, and feeding and snoozing. She is adjusting and, as Momma said, it could take a while. Please feel free to give her my email address if she wants a chat. I remember only too well about feeling crap after DD1 was born. I understand the feelings and I understand the importance of fighting the ones you can and accepting the ones you can't. Still have that book "At Home No-one Hears You Scream", happy to post it.

Lydle, sorry to hear it. Does sound like school dealt with it well though.....

TiggerLicious · 25/06/2008 09:07

Oh Shabs!!!! What crap!!! So sorry. There is always a space for you at Tigger Towers. I shall have my fingers crossed for you. Bloody hell go and have a blast on your hols, forget about RL while you are there and enjoy every second of it!!!!!

There is also lots of space at my mums apparently....she has just told DH he can move in there if he likes
FFS I have spent so long trying to get away and now shes making it worse ARGGGHHHHH!!

Girls can we not all club together and buy one bloody great big house for us all to share?

Egg · 25/06/2008 09:39

Tigger . I have a friend who had the same situation. Her ex DH was an utter twat and her parents were always inviting him round for dinner etc and remaining in touch, despite him treating said friend and their DD like crap.

A shared house would be so great. Easily enough of us that we could go out say 4 at a time every night and get bladdered.

In fact, there are so many pregnant multiple mums that they can stay in and babysit while we all go and get bladdered .

oooggs · 25/06/2008 10:00

oh yes the multiple mums in a commune by the sea

tigger - hope the situation improves

shabby - bad timing - hope that house comes good

Tigs I don't do this on here often (but often at home!!) I'm for you! Its your deal and she should butt out. Stand tall lovely girl xxx.

Shabs, new baby, new house, new dreams, new start. Its just the packing and moving bit that is really shit. And never, ever look back. Think of the HOUSEWARMING!!!

I get horribly sentimental. We moved when DD1 was 3 (8mnths pg with DTs) and again when she was nearly 4 (dull story)and we will be moving later this year too. I tend to have a wobble. I think of first steps and in what rooms and I forget the bits I didn't like and remember only the bits I do like. BUT the important stuff stays in your heart, mind and photos and I don't really look back and wish I could live there again......I look at the photos and remember the moment and my feelings, not the walls.

You can do it.

You can have a fantastic holiday and then you can come home and see what life has next for you. I'm not a very good positive thinker but this has a good feeling about it.

You can do it.

afternoon all. I dont know why I ever stray from this thread you know, I made a silly comment on a thread about big splashy blokes overtaking in swimming pools (DH is one of them) and appear to have been accused of laughing at people getting hurt. Gaaaaahhhhhhh do you know what, sometimes I wonder why I dont just jump of a f**ing cliff.

I am off to counselling myself soon FG, in a couple of weeks. Since coming back from hols I am the lowest of the low about everything in life......

Dont let me bring everyone down though! Shabs, sorry to hear about your house....it wil be fate and your next place will be better!

TiggerLicious · 25/06/2008 13:12

HM!!!! I am the moral (sp can't be bothered) to that story!!!!

Tis why you should never venture far!!!!

Sorry you are feling so low .x.

shabster · 25/06/2008 13:12

Tigger - FFS at your Mums!!!!!!! Tell him there is a house in Bolton thats up for grabs.

DH's brother (over from Germany) and his sister just came to visit. A knock came on the door and an ESTATE AGENT was there....followed by our landlord.

She said 'Mrs Hussain????' my sarcastic reply 'Do I look like a Mrs Hussain, oh no Im the doormat who has been renting his property for the last nine years.'

SIL - and I will use capitals for anger!!! 'LEAVE MY BROTHERS HOME IMMEDIATELY NO YOU CANNOT ENTER THIS HOUSE WITHOUT PRIOR NOTICE. and to landlord YOU DISRESPECTFUL YOUNG BOY, IN FUTURE MAKE AN APPOINTMENT.' PMSL - she is an ogre and has been like that with me for 30 years but I was so glad they were here this morning.

GOOD NEWS we are still registered on our council house list and have been for 9 years so we can start applying for housing.

I feel sick - theres so much going on.

Thanks for your kind words and support girls - as always xx

I am truly begining to wonder if men actually do anything in this world!!! Whys it always the woman how defend everything? See, thats why Joan of Arc really is my hero

Get 'em Shabs!!! Let any terrier like friends or family loose on them!!!!

Neeerly3 · 25/06/2008 13:19

ok i'm gonna get all warm and mushy..

Egg you are an absolute star! I love you to bits - see facebook message

you rock man!

Shabs - having not read ALL posts since yesterday i missed yours about the house...have you got to move...boo hiss if so, utter pants....I have just bought a new shed which i plan to move into when kids/dh get too much, but you are welcome to move in if you need to - it's HUGE!

Lydle - shame on those girls, but as the others have said, it's possible something they heard second hand and think they are being funny by repeating it - sound like the school dealt with it well and your DD is being very grown up about it.

Chops where are you???? (msn i mean)

Mars - you are also a super super star and I'm sure I will be bending your ear many times in the next 9 months.....

Hi to everyone else xxxxxxxxxx

Egg · 25/06/2008 13:24

Oh HM , I also don't really stray onto any contentious threads, or even non contentious ones, I offer a bit of advice here and there if it is something i am familiar with but I just read the flaming others get for doing nowt wrong and I can't really face it. Sorry you are feeling low, a kick in the teeth on MN when you are feeling shite anyway can seem like the last straw even though it doesn't actually matter and we all love you anyway.

Shabs, good on your SIL, (notice it was SIL not BIL... the strong lady again!), glad she sorted the to**ers out.

Egg · 25/06/2008 13:25

Neeeeeeerly, you are welcome, I will head off to FB now (presume dress et al arrived though, hurrah!).

MrsBakerGirl · 25/06/2008 13:34

Hi

Lydle - I teach Yr6 classes and I know how cruel kids can be! I really would like to think that the other child was not being racist and is really just something kids would say. I am mixed race aswell and had a bit of a tough time at school but that was nearly 30 years ago! I know things are different at schools now and instances of racism are not tolerated and the children know it! None of mine try it on - and when on the odd occassion it has happened I ask them to take a good look at me and tell them they are disrespecting me aswell! I also tell them how I felt at school and by god they feel bad! Sound like the school dealt with it well - as they should if there is any doubt it is racism.

Shabster - so sorry to hear about the house! Last thing you need! I know you said you're not religious but I hope you don't mind if I light a candle for you at mass on Sunday!

Hope everyone else well!
