wll I opened the book but that was as far as I got!

The boiler has been on the blink all day so had to try to sort that out. Had to take the boys to a party. They were little terrors. They kept taking pushalongs to the top of the astroglide and chucking them down.

Now off to do haircuts. I am knackered, wonder if dp will notice if I jsut give him a #1 all over.

shabster · 19/03/2008 16:35

Tigs lmao rofl pmsl at your profile. By the way this is Shabba not Tomster

He is at his friend Joshsters house - with the odd mum and the restraining order on the step dad!!! I like anything for a bit of peace them playing together

Dont take them off your profile Tigs - he really will laugh his head off at them. I will have more photos of your kids on 'my pictures' than you have by the time the Tomster has finished

I have to stop googling medical stuff - my face is like this

Mars will appreciate this I think -

My firstborn twin was head first, assisted by those horrible forceps - think they are called keller forceps - also think they are not used anymore.

My secondborn twin (14 mins later) was born feet first - I actually saw his tiny blue feet - I just, out of curiosity, googled that. Found out it is called a footling breech and IS NOT RECOMMENDED to try a normal delivery - all kinds of awful stuff can happen. Oh poo that has scared the pants off me!!

I am going to sign an oath to keep off the medical side of stuff on google

shabster · 19/03/2008 18:08

Pazz and beans - DO NOT READ MY LAST POST.....Step away from the post there is nothing left to see........

twolittlepigs · 19/03/2008 20:13

Hi all,

Mars - sounds like an amazing birth...wish mine had gone like that

Well, all family visits from home are over now, so it's just me and the boys (DTs and DP). Feeling a little blue after saying goodbye to my big brother...and feeling wholly unqualified for the job of parenting twins! I guess it's a mix of lack of sleep and being on my own again...

iamdingdong · 19/03/2008 20:15

hey shabs my DT1 was head first/forceps and DT2 was footling breech too

frumpygrumpy · 19/03/2008 20:19

Hola senoritas! Snorris, those pics were truly gorgeous. I just can't cope with slow motion pictures and music together though! It makes me go mushy eyed. Please, a warning next time

Kelly, I meant to say, Maggie O'Farrell is my author of the moment. Its fiction rather than the true stuff from yesterday's chat. She writes beautifully and cleverly. Really good, each of her books has had me gripped and begging for more ooer mrs.

My DTs were hilarious in the bath tonight. I was getting their rooms ready and all I could hear was great bursts of laughter. As I listened more, they were taking it in turns to push out farts and laughed their heads off each time they were successful DT1, almost passed out with laughter and kept saying "do it again DT2, do it again".

It did end in tears ....... DT2 pushed so much he ended up needing a poo and it almost arrived in the bath.

I am going off to tidy the kitchen, lay out breakfast and intend to go to sleep early. Please someone throw a bucket of iced water at me if you see me on here after my intended bedtime of 9pm.

p.s. my DT2 is ill. Again. Whats the story?

frumpygrumpy · 19/03/2008 20:30

twolittlepigs, feeling unqualified for parenting twins is just how you are meant to feel. I had had my DD1 and still felt totally back to square one when the DTs arrived. Stay with us, we can help you through.

I was never successful at getting mine to feed at the same time and that meant very little sleep. Do sleep as much as you can. Its tempting to do other stuff when they are sleeping but really, in a while you will get time to catch up on it. The sleep will help a little.

Do keep talking to us. I know we often have a laugh on here but the main reason for the thread is so we can muddle through together and share the good and the bad.

twolittlepigs · 19/03/2008 20:44

Thanks FG. Muddling through is exactly what our days are like!! I feel as though I only ever come on here to share the bad...

The sleep issue is tricky as the boys won't nap - when they do it's rarely at the same time! So to avoid them getting overtired and having two nightmarish beings on my hands, I end up putting them in the stroller and walking for around an hour or so - twice a day! It's wearing me out!

Oh! I have some good to share; DT1 laughed at me today ofr the first time!!! Such a sweet little chuckle too! Actually, his first laugh was in his sleep after his 4am feed this morning - who knows what he was dreaming about!

iamdingdong · 19/03/2008 20:54

fg you will be pleased to hear that I've had a small glass of wine tonight

iamdingdong · 19/03/2008 20:55

twolittlepigs how sweet, I love baby chuckles

frumpygrumpy · 19/03/2008 20:56

twolittle, you share all the bad and share it loads! You have twins, you get to moan double!! Believe me when I say you have come to the right place, we all understand.

Walking them to get them some sleep is a good idea. It does get you some exercise and you are kind of laying out a routine of sorts. If you can't be bothered, will they nap if they are cuddled up with you in bed together?

frumpygrumpy · 19/03/2008 20:58

Hi dingdong , just a medicinal one of course. To help the other stuff go down. Well....food is too dry without one. when does the new job/hours start?

twolittlepigs · 19/03/2008 21:01

FG, nope they won't do cuddled up once they are grumpy. There seems to be a nanosecond window of opportunity to spot the signs of tiredness before they kick into over-tired... I just haven't learnt to read their signs properyl yet, I suppose.

iamadingdong - babychuckles just make my heart melt - can't wait to hear what DT2's will sound like...

iamdingdong · 19/03/2008 21:02

new hours will be sept, when dts start school all being well - I have meeting at 8am to discuss contract, as they've never done anything as felxible as I'm requesting before so tomorrow night I'll be drowning my sorrows or celebrating

frumpygrumpy · 19/03/2008 21:09

twolittle, they will keep changing so never give up!

Good luck with it dingdong, can't wait to hear!

galaxymummy · 19/03/2008 21:39

Wow mars just reading birthing story of twins , no doubt birth had a lot to do with your positive presence, i am sure you made her feel safe, which is all we need to give birth successfully, that and a bit of quiet privacy.
