Crap Ruby. That is crap. The ache and worse, THE IPOD!!!! I can make papier mache ones........

If one of these ends up in your SILs bed, around the flabby bottom area, I am not responsible.

Ish.

Ta mighty frumpster - pin monitor - my mam will be sooooo proud of me.

shabster · 14/03/2008 10:08

Rubester - I washed DS1's brand new, very expensive, mobile a couple of years ago.

As the washer was going round and round I could hear his phone ringing to the tune of 'had a bad day'

I made that last bit up about the ringtone but I think it worked quite well.

Worst things happen at sea - or in the washer

PazzaPlusTwo · 14/03/2008 10:18

Morning laydeez

I am skiving off work today, lying on chocolate-brown sofa under a big yellow blanket like a banana. I look like a massive banana split I might accidentally have to eat myself

Thread is cheering me up

Rubes

If you only get to 5 on your 6-point plan we won't tell

duchesse · 14/03/2008 10:36

Hello everyone.

I hope you don't mind me barging in like this, but I am posting on behalf of a friend who is too superstitious to prepare anything before the birth of her babies. Also she doesn't actually know I am posting this on here.

To cut a lot story very short and avoid identifying her too much, she is in a very unusual situation in that she is around 20 weeks pregnant with triplets, and also has a set of nearly 2 yr old twins. I was wondering whether you ladies could help me build up a resource bank of practical suggestions re for example pushchairs etc for her, so that if and when these babies are born (and we all hope to goodness they are all born healthy), I would be able to send her some useful and practical information instead of her having to muddle her way through it all in her (hopefully by then) sleep deprived state. She may already be in contact with the twins' groups in North London.

She's quite a private person and I am not sure she would want to come onto MN to talk about it in person, but as a mother of 3 I can see that she is going to need some seriously heavy-duty equipment. (eg pushchair for 5 babies potentially!)

frumpygrumpy · 14/03/2008 10:41

Oh gosh, so she might have triplets on top of her twins but doesn't want to prepare too much in advance? Hmmm. Hard one.

We have Triplets&Twins on here who has just had her newborn twins but I think her triplets are older...... let me look....

duchesse · 14/03/2008 10:43

She's very nervous as the twins were born at 33 weeks, which makes the likelihood of a rather earlier birth for these 3 rather higher. Also she and her husband are both medics so are all too aware of the risks of multiple and early births. Hence the superstition.

frumpygrumpy · 14/03/2008 10:47

Damn her profile is not there. I am sure her triplets are not buggy age any more though.

Right ladies. She has come to the right place. Thinking caps on. Would it be helpful if I started a discreet thread titled simply 'Duchesse' and then we could just add our thoughts as we have them in some sort of a list style. We are delighted to have you here (and your friend when she's ready) but this thread gets so quickly filled up that you might not be able to wade through for the important info. And she needs important info.

Mars is a doula by the way. You friend could probably make very, very, very good use of a doula. Not that I want to overload Mars with more work

duchesse · 14/03/2008 10:49

Frumpy, that would be brilliant! You must all be so busy... My personal feeling is that my friend is going to need some serious house help for at least a year. I can't imagine it's even possible to look after 5 babies between one or two of you...

duchesse · 14/03/2008 10:50

I did actually leave a message on a thread started by twinsandtriplets some time ago, but I guess she may not check it any more (or is too busy!), so I thought I'd come here instead.

duchesse · 14/03/2008 10:50

This one

frumpygrumpy · 14/03/2008 10:53

Right girls, get Google-ing. We need mums of triplets to imagine having two year old twins on top of what they had and come up with practical things like buggies, beds, etc. And we need Mars' and LG&T to log in since they have ELEVEN children between them

I suggest getting one of everything i.e. playgym, baby door hanger bouncer thing, baby walker (yes, I know the chat about them), a bumbo seat thing, a doughnut ring thing, a babyswing, a prison (what do you call them, a playpen) etc etc. Then when they are at that stage you can keep rotatign them onto a new thing.

frumpygrumpy · 14/03/2008 10:56

ok girls, we need to pool our practical thoughts and think of our best coping strategies, she needs us

largeginandtonic · 14/03/2008 11:02

Oh bless her, must be so hard worrying.

I had twins at 29 weeks but none of the others came early so tell her there is hope. She must rest as much as possible, i realise with toddler twins that is almost laughable.

Shame she wont come on here. I will link to a this one you can attach 2 toddler seats to the front not just one.

They are heavy but very good, i have one

Will get thinking about other things for her.

Errr...um.....let me think about that one Duchesse.
I have triplets and luckily I have (don't laugh) welders and lots of men who like building things in my family so my ride was 'pimped' so to speak...however not sure health and safety would have been to pleased

Momma!!! 3 kids down at my kids school!!! CLOSE YOUR WINDOW!!!!!!

Frumps I'm with you on the non meet ups, although I am going to try my hardest with Piximon and Momma. Well done you for being brave enough to say it,see now I would had said yes and got my knickers in a twist Are you sure you just didn't buy up all the train tickets to stop Mars?

Rubes I've already walked the woofer, I did a five mile trek!! feel really bad as I invited my mum and it was all hills and mud this morning she was puffing along behind me....actually worked quite well she was very quiet!!!! LOL

duchesse · 14/03/2008 11:36

Tigger @ your practical menfolk pimping your triplets' ride...

frumpygrumpy · 14/03/2008 11:39

Now see, I might still try to go to the multiples meet up. That feels different somehow.
