TripleyTigger · 09/03/2008 21:51

shabster · 09/03/2008 21:58

No that was me tigs

TripleyTigger · 09/03/2008 22:01

PMSL!!!! At least it was ladylike Shabs!! Or were you trying to impress me?

shabster · 09/03/2008 22:04

Our local radio has just said that we have to stay away from the coastline!!! Ha ha well we are ok cause it takes us an hour to get to Blackpool.

Watch this now, on Sky News tomorrow morning it will show everybody - me, derkster and tomster sailing past Blackpool tower in our bath, we will be waving and shouting 'Hiya Mum.'

We are on the incoming flight path to Manchester airport but we very rarely hear the planes. Just heard a couple coming in which is unusual - we are all doomed Mr Mannering

TripleyTigger · 09/03/2008 22:10

I live 10-15mins (depends whose car you get in) from the airport and I have just realised that there have been no planes for a while

I have my fingers crossed that it is one of those 'storms' that the media make up.

And we are reporting here today from the heart of the storm where Mrs Googlebottoms plant pot fell over and smashed. Tell me Mrs Goolebottom did you fear for your life at any point?

shabster · 09/03/2008 22:12

tigs - dont worry our local radio said just our coastline and the planes I am fretting about are at Manchester airport - You southern jessies will all be just fine

shabster · 09/03/2008 22:15

aw tigs - Nikos (our holiday barman) just msn to say - get this - It is very clear in faliraki tonight I can see very clear the stars. I just think to myself I bet sharon can see the same stars I can see.

He needs to stop talking like this to me I will jump on his bones in June. Ha Ha he would have a nervous breakdown if he knew what effect his messages were having in Bolton.

TripleyTigger · 09/03/2008 22:16

Shabs my sister lives in Manchester. Sje used to leave just down the road from where they filmed Shamless I think it was the Cheadle Hulme area. But they have just moved. She works at one of the shops near the train station

TripleyTigger · 09/03/2008 22:17

Your holiday barman texts you? PMSL

shabster · 09/03/2008 22:22

Oh yes - we have been to the same hotel 6 times - when they make their meals they send some up to our room. It is pigging ace. Forgot to mention that I am older than Nikos' mum - he is just 24.

Going to the hotel is like going to your favourite grans on Christmas day.

We text, e mail and ring each other all year. He is an ace lad - I stress the word lad.

We found a little piece of heaven in Rhodes.

TripleyTigger · 09/03/2008 22:22

Oh my god!! awful spelling!!!

shabster · 09/03/2008 22:23

I thought you meant me - I just checked my post through dont worry tigs I knew exactly what you meant

TripleyTigger · 09/03/2008 22:23

Shabs!!!! You are soooo cool!!! What an ace mum you must be!!!!

TripleyTigger · 09/03/2008 22:24

I just thought that then!!!!! I bet you thought cheeky mare correcting me!!!

shabster · 09/03/2008 22:28

Thank you tigs - I try hard to appreciate my kids - I know how short life can be and make the most of every day.

We went to faliraki at first cause it was the cheapest place within a couple of days we were addicted to the place and, more importantly, the people.

We get on so well - they think I am mad but hey ho!! Before now we have worked behind the bar if they are short staffed! One year we went and they had a big party of young English lads there who were causing them a lot of problems. The entire barstaff went to help Takis the owner to sort it out and I ended up behind the bar with my DH with tomster collecting glasses.

For the rest of the 10 days we were there that year we didnt pay for food or drink because they were so grateful for our help.

shabster · 09/03/2008 22:37

My goal, in life, is to take trips to faliraki!! She would look like this at first and then after a few hours she would be like this and by the end of the night she would be like this and up on karaoke with me singing 'I will survive.'

How lovely to have a home away from home Shabs. It can be so difficult to find somewhere nice to stay

Our family had the same relationship with blackpool (although I don't know if my mum ever texted 24 year old lads) We used to go with my dad's work company every year. Up to the front of the coach(before health and safety!!) to see the illuminations, same old room that looked out onto a brickwallbut the staff were lovely and me being a blonde haired blue eyed toddler got spoilt rotten!!!

God I need a holiday!!!!!!!!!!! Don't think I can afford abroad or manage it with my lot yet though. I keep saying centre parks or a farm holiday with a nice self catering cottage (I can't do hotels with my lot

Well I'm off to bed to dream of sunny shores, I hope you don't get too windswept!! Your attitude to life is so right Shabs.x.

TripleyTigger · 09/03/2008 22:40

Hi and bye Ruby.x.

shabster · 09/03/2008 22:41

Night night tigs - enjoyed our gab.

It takes a lot of practice to pretend I am being positive and upbeat - but I am getting there.

shabster · 09/03/2008 22:42

Hiya Rubes - OK lovley?

TripleyTigger · 09/03/2008 22:47

I can do serious too Shabs if you ever need me.

Your attitude rubs off on so many people Shabs, you make me appreciate life and put things in persective without even realising it.

I just wish I could do something to change the ways that you found such strength.

Night,night dear friend.x.
