frumpster - I am a Wales fan meself. Taffyster (my FIL) was, in case you couldnt guess by his name, from the Valleys - Abertilery in South Wales. Lived in Manchester for over 40 years and never lost his Welsh accent.

We would have been with him in the miners club today watching Wales (bet he was watching it in heaven) although he couldn't speak Welsh he would stand up on the table and sing the National Anthem on top note. Think it had something to do with the crate of strong lager he had drunk before kick off.

Tomster has a cough that sounds like an old car starting up - he is watching You've been framed, screaming laughing and then barking away.

shabster · 08/03/2008 18:29

frumpster - bobos - thats the funniest word I have heard for ages. bobos and mangoes

frumpygrumpy · 08/03/2008 18:30

Oh shabster, I have had some mad nights in town when the Welsh have been here for the rugby!!! What a laugh

frumpygrumpy · 08/03/2008 18:32

I was just a child then and would roll out of work with my then b/f and we'd roll home days later . Now I'd need to plan ahead by about a year. And iron my pants first. And get a pass. With a time slot on it. Not the same.

shabster · 08/03/2008 18:33

They are great people - Now I cant get Taffy's accent out of my head There's beautiful

iamdingdong · 08/03/2008 18:35

PMSL FG DH has a bit of a thing for 'juicy juicy mangoes'

shabs one of our neighbours is a former welsh international rugby player

shabster · 08/03/2008 18:38

awww frumpster - I used to go out on Thursday nights first into Wigan Casino where they would have an all night Northern soul night and then back into Manchester city center to the all night clubs then go into work at Manchester town hall at 8.30!!

Can you imagine - working for United Utilities - walking into work - dressed up in a light green trouser suit, chocolate brown shirt, and MASSIVE platform shoes. Loads of make up and just a touch of glitter on my eyelids. Oh yes and half cut as well

'Those were the days my friend, I thought they'd never end....................'

shabster · 08/03/2008 18:40

Bet I looked like one of those chocolate lime toffees!! Well it was 1974 and I was only 18 - still no excuse to look like a sweet

HarrogateMum · 08/03/2008 19:08

My DTs have gone to bed in disgrace......DT2 bit my leg through my jeans and made teethmarks.......I banished him upstairs. DT1 followed and I found him jumping up and down on DT2's head. So no stories tonight!

Just watching the end of Harry Hill....listening to the dulcet tones of DD screaming in her cot..........isnt being a parent THE HARDEST JOB in the world....?

frumpygrumpy · 08/03/2008 19:17

Yes HM. You'll need ice for your leg. And lemon/lime/tonic/gin etc.

Shabster, thats excatly the sort of nights I loved I remember getting home to my wee flat at some unknown hour then waking up in the same position I'd fallen on the bed in, with the same clothes in and being desperately sorry that the clock said 8am!! Once my b/f turned up at work in the same clothes I'd left her in. We had a strictly goody-two shoes halo girl that worked in the same room as us. I couldn't say out loud "OMG, did you go home with [insert name of man we'd been chatted up by], shag him senseless and come straight here?" but we would lock eyes and beam like this Heaps of fun. Heavenly!

frumpygrumpy · 08/03/2008 19:18

excatly = exactly

I, of course, did all the late night drunkeness but never slept with anyone as I am still a virgin being unmarried and all that.

shabster · 08/03/2008 19:22

frumpster I am a born again Virgin - DH reckons there could be a cobweb blockage problem. How rude

I knitted my four DS's

shabster · 08/03/2008 19:24

Tomster no - Please - Pleeeeeeeeaaasssseeee

Suppose I will see you later ladies, the 'boss' wants to go on his computer

HarrogateMum · 08/03/2008 19:26

FG - I used to love it when I could say Hi to the milkman on my way home from a night out. Happy Days.

Now I dont like to go out in town on a Friday or Saturday as its too busy and makes me feel uncomfortable and panicky. How times change.

oooggs · 08/03/2008 19:58

triplets - thinking of you all

going out? on a saturday night? can't remember when I last had the energy to even want to nevermind actually do it - oh those were the days

frumpygrumpy · 08/03/2008 20:17

no Ooogs, those days were never Saturdays work nights only!! Saturdays were, girls round 6pm, wine, preening and giggling til 9pm then TOWN heavenly! I miss it! I miss it! I miss it!

DP got home from the rugby half an hour ago. He has no voice PMSL He croaked "I'm cooking" so I'm being a very saintly girl and letting him

Shabster, my friend told me if you hadn't had sex in 7 years you were a virgin again. I'd be virgin on insane if I had to do without for 7 years!!! Mind you, its LG&T that has the aching tunnel rampant and romantic streak round here Said with love LG&T, said with love xxx.

frumpygrumpy · 08/03/2008 20:20

ooogs I just looked at your pictures. They are so fab! I'm telling you, I'm so broody I'm worried if I have sex I'll have sextuplets

frumpygrumpy · 08/03/2008 20:36

isn't this woman amazing?

HarrogateMum · 08/03/2008 20:45

FG - yes. I have friends who adopted about 4 years ago, two siblings who also had older siblings who had come from an extremely broken home, some of which was obvious from the behaviour that they exhibited. But they are such beautiful, wonderful children, and to see them all together now is just a joy.

HarrogateMum · 08/03/2008 20:46

PS - does that comment mean you are COMING to the meet up FG........???

C'mon, I know the castle needs care and stuff, but surely it can do without you for ONE night!!!?? DP can pull up the moatbridge! And lower the portcullis! (had to get the word portcullis in there somewhere)

HarrogateMum · 08/03/2008 20:47
