Hi,, got back at 2pm. The news is not good, feel so upset, shocked, tearful. They had to stop the colonoscopy because of the narrowing caused by the growth, it is not a polyp, too large, it is in the lower end of the bowel, and the growth is 8cm long. They have taken a biopsy, we will have to wait 10-14 days for the result, but I feel they are sure it is going to be malignant. They wil send for him next week to go for a CT scan to see if it has spread. It is so scary. I ended up telling the poor nurse about Matthew and the kids, they did not know what to say. Feel sick with it all, but have said that we will not keep talking about it, outwardly he shows no symptems, we must just carry on. The kids I am sure will keep us busy!

shabster · 08/03/2008 16:16

trips - just e mailed you love. I mean what I say on the email. Chin up sweet, everybody here will support you in every way they can. Give H a love from me.

shabster · 08/03/2008 16:18

forgot to say trips - it made me smile (i know its not funny but you reminded me of something I would do) when you said you told the nurse about Matthew and the trips. I wonder why we do that - I tell random strangers for no reason. Maybe we are trying to make sense of the situation out loud - Im not sure

I can be complaining about a electric bill and if Im in that mood I will tell the call center operator all the gory details from the last 26 years. We are odd arent we?

triplets · 08/03/2008 16:23

This will make you smile, when the nurse caled me in to Harry to give us the resluts, she said, Mrs Peace, its your father is it? I said "no its my husband", poor woman didn`t know what to say, then said oh you look too young!

triplets · 08/03/2008 16:23

Triplets my darling. You must be exhausted.

Not the physical exhaustion but the mental and emotional stuff. I am sad to hear the day didn't go as well as we hoped it would. It is another step closer to knowing what the best plan of action is which is good and its just a pain in the arse that its going to take yet more time and worry for you xxxxxx. Whats H saying about it? Not much?

I reckon your trio should watch telly with large bags of crisps and you and H should open a bottle of plonk and eat takeaway (it'll go right through him but that might just be the takeaway!!!!). Or better, go out to the pictures. You guys need a little light relief and something to make the mind rest a little.

Darling, I so wish I was near to cuddle you up and let you talk.

Momma, thats crap. Its awful being ill when you also have to keep it all going. You try to curl up and let the babes snuggle and let DS1 watch anything, paint anything, and eat anything. You can put it all back together next week. xxx

HM, love your interpretation of the Night Garden

Shabster/triplets you also made me fill up reading your posts last night. And will you stop apologising for it!!!! We love to hear it all and its good to hear it. Really. You've come to the right place. Its kind of what HM was saying......you have to acknowledge the feeling and allow the feeling to be able to make friends with the feeling. Thats a slight step closer to accepting the feeling although I don't think acceptance would ever come from me in your shoes...... The only way to keep both of your darling boys close is to keep them talked about. You keep watching for signs. The butterflies are amazing stories. Love that.

Mars, the weather up here is wild today! One minute wild rain and wild wind, next moment sunshine blazing all over us. You would have had a bumpy landing I'm sure. And I will try much harder to make the room presentable for next time Ah well, I ordered a shedload of wine too.........the rugby is on and I might have to polish off your share Could take a while but I do like to be useful.

frumpygrumpy · 08/03/2008 16:42

And keep telling strangers about your darlings. Strangers aren't just there for looking at you know. They should also make themselves useful. Offload a little Seriously, I have met such a lovely pile of strangers. Often have my best chats with people I have never met before or will again.

shabster · 08/03/2008 16:47

frumpster - you are most definitely a 'very wise grasshopper' xxxxxx

TripleyTigger · 08/03/2008 17:04

Oh triplets I am so sorry that the news was not the best (try and keep thinking positive,my DH has had biopsies and they have come back clear)

Bosybritches is still around if you want to have a 'medical' chat, but otherwise keep talk talk talking. Everyone is here to listen and support you.
I'm not surprised you talked to the nurses about Matthew, its all very emotional stuff..

Sending you lots of hugs and love.x.

HarrogateMum · 08/03/2008 17:20

Hi All - Triplets, so sorry to hear about today. Please keep sharing here, I cant say more than everyone else already has, but that you can keep talking and we will keep listening. You lot on here are the people I pour my heart out to so I would hope that everyone on here feels the same.

And to both you and Shabs, FG is right about telling strangers about your boys. We have a new lady at work who has 6 children in total and has lost 2 of them, both boys. One was lost to leukaemia, I am unsure at what age, and the other was in a car accident a year or so ago in his 20s. She is so incredibly upbeat and positive and I take my hat off to her. She talks about her sons a lot at work when you would least expect it and none of us mind, infact I enjoy listening to her talk about them, it brings them alive.

I think I've harped on a bit now, but I hope you understand where the sentiment is coming from.

I feel a gin and tonic coming on - I just had my Sainsburys delivery (FG, the delivery guy was soaking wet, wearing a beanie with raindrops falling off the end of his very red nose, could not have been further from your Tesco guy!!) at the same time as trying to feed the kids eggs on toast and tidy the kitchen and fold some washing. GGGGGGGGAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHH

frumpygrumpy · 08/03/2008 18:12

I love all you darlings with all my heart.

And,

SCOTLAND WON THE RUGBY We hardly ever win the rugby and we most often win the 'keep your chin higher than your tears cup'. This is momentous for us Scots Mars, I'm so sorry you're not here. I would have dragged my mum up to babysit and I would have taken you to town. It will be jumping.

iamdingdong · 08/03/2008 18:13

so sorry to hear your news triplets, you have been through so much already, you are an amazing lady, keep sharing

My work colleague's husband is havign an emergency MRI as they think he has a brain tumour, her grown up son went missing about 5 yrs ago, no word from him, her husband has been her rock throughout it, I don't know how she'll cope either

on a happier note we took the DTs to the Life centre in Newcastle this am, they loved it, lots to see, buttons to press, monkey hands to try on suited DH quite well actually then had to do duty with the PILs but MIL had managed to make an edible cake so it wasn't too bad

cheers FG and HM (and anyone else whose bar is open!) mini poppadums anyone?

frumpygrumpy · 08/03/2008 18:13

Tesco boy yesterday and rugby thighs today I can't cope

iamdingdong · 08/03/2008 18:14

oh FG DH doesn't know about the rugby yet, I have kept it from he, he will take it badly and I need him coherent for another hour or so

frumpygrumpy · 08/03/2008 18:14

Cheers dingmydong!

frumpygrumpy · 08/03/2008 18:15
