LOL at the veterinary practice!

I think it is a good compromise to have the epidural line put in and then get the drugs only if I want them/need them for the second twin.

The hospital protocol also says that the second twin MUST be born within 30 minutes of the first. But if the baby is not in distress is this really necessary?

HarrogateMum · 07/03/2008 13:35

Ruby, my consultant said the same, but was much more crass - she said you have to have the epidural because even though they are both head down now, once the first one is out, the second one could turn and if it does, the doctor delivering will have to get their hand in and pull it out. Nice.

Sorry Neenz! In the event I had it and was glad I did and they both stayed head down!

frumpygrumpy · 07/03/2008 13:38

Neenz, you sounds like me! I had b/g twins too. My DT2 was breech but everyone was happy I try for a vaginal birth, esp as DT1 was head down and in first position. I was also told advised to have an epidural in case things didn't work out and DT2 needed to come out fast (c/s).

The epidural did slow down my labour which was a very good thing for me as I had a horribly fast birth with my DD1 and it was good for me to feel everything was much calmer. I had a lovely, lovely birth with the DTs .

The epidural was actually just as well as I had a retained placenta and had to go into theatre immediately after the birth. So keep an open mind.

How exciting!

Oh frumpy just been on msn talking to our barman Nikos (the beautiful one) Nousi. I had a TESCO moment.

Nikos - very tall, eyes like dark chocolate puddles, veeeery black hair, big hands, size 15 feet - you do this much better than I can frumpy

He asked when he came on msn if it was me or tomster on there - tomster always goes on my msn. When I said it was me his first line was 'Hallo darling - I miss you.' Forgot to mention he is only 24!!!

Bet he is sat in Jimmys bar on bar street with a bunch of greek blokes and saying 'I bet I make her tremble, everybody watch the screen shake when I try to tease her' There will be a dozen greek blokes falling off the chairs with laughter in Jimmys.

Im going for a lie down in a dark room

shabster · 07/03/2008 13:41

aw frumpy - you said vaginal (I hope you said it just with exaggerated mouth twitches and not actually out loud)

I had a moment with Nikos and then you said ladies front bottom - right out loud and proud

frumpygrumpy · 07/03/2008 13:41

I had the same 30 minute thing. My midwife was heavenly and she gently encouraged DT2 to make his entrance, he did after 17 minutes. Poor thing, he'd been squashed to one side for months and months, he was hardly in a fit position to sing and dance all the way. They then gave me 30 minutes placenta time but it was in for good I think. Probably for the same squashed reasons

frumpygrumpy · 07/03/2008 13:44

Oh shabster, I'm still glowing

Yes, I said vaginal with a silent mouth Its not the best word.

shabster · 07/03/2008 13:51

I just have visions of all those dirty old greek blokes shouting 'umpah, shabster is a dirty old bird' and necking their glasses of ouzo.

He was offering to make me cocktails when we go in June - slippery nipples etc etc. OMG now my moustache is sweating - menopausal leakage

Hiya momma - its lovley here to but VERY windy - you ok?

ChopsTheDuck · 07/03/2008 14:11

Blimey the hormones are rife in here, will you lot calm down!!

I am not having a good day. First dt2 knocks over a lovely display of red wine bottles in the supermarket. The assistant looked thunderous, she really did.

Then we get home, break out sausage rolls, crisps and donuts, and the flipping HV turns up!! I reckon she must have been peekign through the window - they never just happen to be 'in the area' when you are feeding them homemade carrot and coriander soup with freshly baked cheddar scones do they?!

shabster · 07/03/2008 14:17

Hiya chops - the blame for this all lies at frumpys feet she had an amazing Tesco man moment.

Then I had an umpah moment - think thats enough for one day - too much excitement or what? [frin]

Going out in a few mins for the tomster. Its friday night treat time - fish and chips for the tomster from our local chippy - as Peter Kay rightly says - Friday night, chippy tea night - its the law.

See you all later. Frumps stop stroking the tesco carriers - NOW

TripleyTigger · 07/03/2008 15:17

Can I still hear the rustling of carrier Bags?

PMSL chops!!! I think HV's can hear the snap of a choccy biscuit and the crack of a crisp from miles away!!

Chippy night!!!!!
Cor Shabs chuck us one

Momma, please can you tell Pixi i have no phone credit She is texting me and I am shouting at the phone "Pixi I have no credit love" but I'm not sure she can hear me.

ROFL chops! I had a similar moment today when I was caught out in MCDONALDS with DS1 by two of the staff from his nursery . AND he had just had a huuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuge poo.

snorris · 07/03/2008 16:13

All my housework is done & everything is tidy. My children have been threatened with being auctioned off if they make a mess .

HarrogateMum · 07/03/2008 18:19

and I have survived day 2 of being along without DH and all the kids, went round to a friends this afternoon which helped. Going to my parents on Sunday but nothing planned for tomorrow......we will see how things go!

But bath over, they are all clean, drinking milk and I have poured a large one.......

SlightlyMadSecretSoundWinner · 07/03/2008 18:19
