momma - I'm back on 16th April, dts start nursery on 2nd April, just after their 1st birthday. I work 16 hours a week (W, T & F) so they are at nursery 2.5 days, but this will be upped to 3 days in Sept, when ds1 starts school.

It is a work based nursery which James has been at since it opened when he was 14 mths and I went back. Subsidised as well which is a huge help and no hidden extras (so can't be 'late' .

Now will catch up

oooggs · 17/01/2008 19:29

leo - mine will pull themselves up to stand on anything which stays still long enough , can cruse around the furniture and J can stand unaided (for seconds!!!!!)

Not climbing (or walking) yet, but I am in no rush!!!!!!!!

accordiongirl · 17/01/2008 20:52

Mine being one year, the only thing I think is that they yo-yo all the time, they take it in turns to be the "up" twin. One will leap forward and out towards the world, while the other sits on the brakes for a while, and withdraws a bit, and then it only takes a cough cold teething-ache or random visit from Mischeivous Twin Fairy (she's out there I know she is) to put the "out" one back in the box and bring the introverted one out to play again. Am I rambling? This make sense to anyone? x

estar · 17/01/2008 21:51

Totally, AC - its so they get a break, but you never do.

accordiongirl · 18/01/2008 00:32

yeah estar, like when they sleep at different times, get sick at different times

Speaking of which, does anyone think twins get more illnesses than singles? Moss and Vera have been off games since november with a colourful repertoire of illnesses - snotty ones, puky ones, coughy ones and mystery ones... Is this winter particularly bad or is it all babies in their first winters, double and single ones? M x

HarrogateMum · 18/01/2008 09:05

TT - Dingdong is inamuckingfuddle, she is only masquerading as IAMF and will always be dingdong to us!

twinkle1 · 18/01/2008 10:07

Morning ladies,
i feel crap today, I have'nt managed to keep anything down for 12 hrs now So phoned the local hosp maternity triage Number which the consultant told me to ring if i got like this. Only to be told "your not 16 weeks yet we cant deal with you, you need to phone your GP" WHAT THE F*. So phones local GP speaks to midwife who happened to be there, who says oh do you want the gp to give you some anti sickness tablets???? NO i have been taking them for 5 weeks already!!!!i want to go to hosp for IV fluids!!!!!! oh well i will have to phone you back later?????
Am i been very unreasonable????? I trained as a midwife think i know when the sickness is out of control!!! im so mad (and sick)
Sorry rant over.Hope everyone else is ok
Twinkle

Leoloopydoo · 18/01/2008 10:07

Accordian girl - my dts are the same. One week people will say that dt1 is the queiter/easier/shier etc, and the next week exactly the same comments will be said about dt2. Its interesting, maybe they are still trying to establish their 'place' in their relationships with the other twin and other people.

DS1 was ill the whole of his first winter and never really got completely snot, cough and bronchitis free until we went on holiday in July. The dts are doing much better so far!!!! I'm still bfing which I am sure helps, ds1 got his first illness almost the day I stopped.

LG&T, I'm also glad its friday, by Thursday night I really start to think i should give up work.... started biting my nails again since I've beensitting at my desk all day - the smallest but most annoying of my problems!

Leoloopydoo · 18/01/2008 10:10

Twinkle, did you tell your mat unit that you are having twins? You may get special treatment.
How bad are you? How about going to emergency?

twinkle1 · 18/01/2008 10:14

yes told them i am having twins.I feel awful cant keep water down anymore.I suppose i could go down to A&E if i get desperate.Local hosp is at least a 30 min drive as we live in the peak distrist.Im just so cross that triage abdicated all responsibility!!!!
I will give it till 12 to see if the midwife rings back and then head for the Hosp.

Twinkle how awful, my heart goes out to you, I hate that feeling.

Girls, out of interest, was everyone very, very sick when pg with their DTs? I was.(Only sometimes physically sick, mainly overwhelming nausea) For 3 months. Couldn't see food. Couldn't eat food. Couldn't smell food. Could hardly walk about. Looked green. Felt like a steam train had smashed into me.

Eventually I would be able to eat or drink one thing (banana milkshake, cream cheese bagel or a plain piece of potato stick in the mind) and I'd only consume little bits of that for a few days. Couldn't even get dressed some days and for anyone who knows me knows that is highly unusual, I shower and dress even when I'm ill. Frumpily of course

Twinkle, unlike you, I could at least keep down liquids. Hope you get some help xxx.

TT, as HM said, dingdong is IAMF. I think it suits her. I read it the way Leslie Philips (sp?) says it of course!

FG - I was very very ill with mine. I was sick until about 20 weeks and lost a stone in weight, I could not face anything and threw up about 6 times per day, all day long!

NOW however is a different story, I eat for the UK!!

HarrogateMum · 18/01/2008 15:23

ohhhhhhhh and work is work FG!! Sometimes great, sometimes shocking.

frumpygrumpy · 18/01/2008 16:37

HM, same with Maddy? Just curious..... How is she btw, mended from her infection?

frumpygrumpy · 18/01/2008 16:38

Sorry, I mean, curious about the sick thing and pregnancy. And how is Maddy?

largeginandtonic · 18/01/2008 16:55

Fg WHY are you curious about the pregnancy thing????
