Nah!!!!!!!!!!!!! Loving it too much at the moment.

Those stereo moments with the DTs though..... they make me want to put the world on pause occasionally.

Had a fab night out dancing. Saw that IAMF filled the thread and didn't even start a new one

So here it is and if you don't like the title.... well it's almost 3 in the morning. What's a Mars to do?

Oh god, I tried and tried to read everything and catch up, but it's no good. I have gleaned from a quick skim that Em is thinking of more babies, which is great as it means having triplets can't be that bad, so twins will be a doddle .

I started a thread with no response, do any of you with big families (esp those who have had three kids under two at any point), have any car advice. I might have asked before, so sorry if so . What cars do you all have, and any good or bad points to look out for? DH wants a Hyundai Santa Fe. My sis has a Toyota Previa with sliding doors that seems more practical, but DH refuses to have a "bus".

TrickORTripletEm · 25/10/2007 13:49

Egg,we had a people carrier, don't ask me what sort all I know is it was a green colour!!(don't drive)
Very good for space with double buggy plus buggy, nappy bags, wellingtons, picnics!!!!!!
Also very handy to split the kids up if they are messing around in the back. It had a walkway down the middle so they were all out of pinching distance.

Egg · 25/10/2007 15:22

OMG, a walkway down the middle! DH would never consider that as it really would be like a bus. Sounds ideal mind you. That's my other worry is that if we do have all seven seats up, we will have no boot space for the double buggy etc etc.

TrickORTripletEm · 25/10/2007 15:38

Well Egg you could trick him, because if you have all the seats in,there was three rows, theres no walkway!!!! Thinking about it I think it was a renult espace(soooooo not the right spelling!!)

largeginandbloodpunch · 25/10/2007 15:39

Good grief i cant keep up!

Am back from drivathon over the last couple of days, 5 children gonr to stay with their dad till Sunday. It is very quite here, Beau is trying his best to gurgle loudly in their absence

Em i have a umm, chequered delivery history. The dts were a section, dd was a planned homebirth (but got stuck and came out in hospital, no intervention though) 3rd degree tear, ds#3 homebirth, ds#4 homebirth (shoulder dystocia) and ds#5 hospital ventouse!!! I have had many chats with medical professionals over my choice of delivery in the past. You can do whatever you like, just be happy with your decision and read lots on the subject.

On the car issue, i struggle to say the least. I did have a 7 seater Seat Alhambra, the same car as VW Sharan and a Ford Galaxy, i loved it and it served me well over 7 years. Its only downside is a tiny boot. When we had Beau i had to upgrade to an 8 seater, i really did not want a mini bus so settled on a Toyota Emina (same as Previa) a Jap import. It is great! The seats all swivel so the kids can face each other. The boot is huge too! I do need to start thinking about another car though as we want more babies Im thinking a long wheel base Landrover Defender. Am keeping my eye open for one.

I like the little hats too

TrickORTripletEm · 25/10/2007 15:42

Trying to work out now how we actually got in if there were three rows of seats!!!! Perhaps there was three at the back and two in front, then the driver and passenger seat. Maybe that's it,because you would still have a little walkway. No hang on,that can't be it,because we used to take a row of seats out when we had loads of stuff and that would only leave two for the babies. HELP!!! I'm confused!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

largeginandbloodpunch · 25/10/2007 15:42

You could also consider a Bongo Friendee or a Delica. Both Jap import cars but all over the place now. Very good cars. A friend has the Delica and it is very cool. The seats can all be moved in to different postions and the boot is big too. They are lovely to drive and usually automatic, sooooo easy.

I will google and see if i can link some for you

TrickORTripletEm · 25/10/2007 15:47

Sorry L.G.A.T cross posted.

Wow!! You certainly know your stuff then!! It's lovely to know you can have a natural birth after a c-sect(Not so lovely about the tear thoughOoch!! Hurts just to think)
I was worried about a rupture, but it seems most mums aren't. There is hope!! And Lulumama says that I can have a birth plan after my midwife said it was a waste of time!! Oh I am going to give them all so much stick if I do go ahead!!!

largeginandbloodpunch · 25/10/2007 15:47

at this website

Also Momma i went whizzing by the Exeter turning and hollered did you hear me???

Egg · 25/10/2007 15:51

Bongo Friendee has to be a made up name surely . Thanks for all advice so far. My sis's Toyota is easy to access the back row of seats, as the sliding doors slide back far enough that you don't have to climb over the middle row. Don't worry about googling, will have a browse later on myself.

LG&T, have lost track. Your profile says you have five children, but if you have got rid of five and still have one, is one missing from the profile? And you still want more? If you wait until Feb you can maybe have my DTs . Reading other people's profiles do make me feel silly for worrying about having three children...

largeginandbloodpunch · 25/10/2007 15:51

I barely noticed the tear as i was too busy gazing at my dd, i could not believe i had managed to produce a pink one! Was still better than a section any day. I was up and around in no time and the dts were only 20mths when i had dd.

The Lucida is almost identical to the Emina\Previa btw.

Egg · 25/10/2007 15:52

Wow a link already . Thank you, will have a quick look now before waking DS, who has been asleep nearly three hours .

largeginandbloodpunch · 25/10/2007 15:55

Too late i googled already!

I have 6 children now but have no idea how to change it on my profile page Beau is my first son from my second marriage so his daddy is right here! The other kiddies dad is in Plymouth where i used to live till last year. He ran off with the student who lived with us, she is at least good with the children though. I mean she is only 23 so almost one herself Laughing now..... was not last year

TrickORTripletEm · 25/10/2007 15:55

L.G.A.T,forgot to say I had a nosey at your photos the other day and I must say you have a touch of the Jennifer Aniston about you

Egg · 25/10/2007 15:55

Think I have worked out the kids now... Beau is a new one, who came along after the wedding to DH in 2006. Am I right? Sorry for being so slow .

largeginandbloodpunch · 25/10/2007 15:56

Dont wake him!!! Let them sleep i say, let them sleeeeeep

largeginandbloodpunch · 25/10/2007 15:58

PMSL at the Jennifer Aniston.... you have made my day Im sure she has several stretchmarks, a stone in excess weight and secret unruly hair behind all the makeup and airbrushing

tkband3 · 25/10/2007 16:02

Egg we have a renualt grand scenic which fits 3 car seats across the back. It also has a big boot (with 2 extra seats in if required) I have managed to fit 1 single buggy, 2 doubles and a supermarket shop in my boot! Also helps that with the children in car seats across the back, there are lovely big foot-wells to put stuff in. I really like it because it doesn't feel too much like a bus to drive - you are a bit higher up, but not as much as in my friend's galaxy.

The two window seats have isofix points if you want them, and I think (but don't quote me) that you could have a third fitted as extra on the middle seat if you wanted to. They now do a version of it with the big boot but without the extra 2 seats in the boot, although it only came out about 6 months ago, so you'd be unlikely to get one second hand. I've been really pleased with mine.

Potty training here is ongoing - some good times, some bad. Afternoons better than mornings for some reason. Am persevering as I feel we're getting somewhere, but am still having to remind them every half hour or so to go.

TrickORTripletEm · 25/10/2007 16:04

We live in hope L.G.A.T, we live in hope ...........sigh......

largeginandbloodpunch · 25/10/2007 16:10

Ha ha! I have managed to add Beau to my profile page. Clearly i am not quite so much of a muppet after all

piximon · 25/10/2007 19:05

Egg we also have a Toyota Emina, it's great, so much space there's no room for the kiddies to fight, although that may change when the next one comes along lol.

Ohh I won a mumsnet runner up Disney Princess dress for DD1. I'm so excited, she's princess mad (to the extent that we have imaginary princess who have to do everything with us sigh) so I just have to decide whether to give it to her when it arrives or put it away for Xmas. It's been such a nightmare time recently so I'm appreciating even little things so much more.

Triplets was so glad to read about Harry's results, sorry I didn't mention it sooner, it's been a bit chaotic here.

TripEm, thanks for the email. As soon as Dh can see properly I'm on my way down to snap up a rental. Will hopefully find a landlord/agency who doesn't think it weird for people who haven't rented for years wanting to rent all of a sudden.

FG you are sorely missed and I hope you're back soon. Sending love and wishes your way.

And thanks all for your well wishes for DH. His steroid drops dilate his pupil so he's been wearing a patch all week to help cope with the light, am finally able to look at him without laughing! His work must have Googled the condition as they are being very sympathetic about time off and told him to make sure he's fully recovered before going back etc (after all the crap they gave us, cancelling his paternity leave etc, I thought they'd be on the phone every five mins).

Hello to everyone else.

TrickORTripletEm · 25/10/2007 19:12

Sorry Piximon, I didn't realise your DH couldn't drive because there was something wrong(I must have missed that)when you said he couldn't drive down I just thought you meant that there was a problem with the car I would like to send my very belated wish of well to your DH

TrickORTripletEm · 25/10/2007 19:14

Piximon!!! Just seen it!! Well done!!!

piximonster · 25/10/2007 19:25

Thanks TripEm, he has another hospital apt in a few weeks when we get blod test results and he gets off the drops so I think we'll have to wait till then, in the meantime I've been cleaning like mad so the house can go on the market the min we move out.

largeginandbloodpunch · 25/10/2007 19:25

How lovely Pixi! I wanted to enter the competition till dh pointed out that Phin is 7 and was too old! Shame really she is princess crazy too. Although High School Musical is pipping the princesses at the post at the moment.

The Eminas are fab arent they Pixi

Hope you manage to get the kids to bed tonight Triplets. I am such a mean mummy when it comes to bed time, usually beacause i have lost all patience by that time of the day and they know not to cross me

FG, youhooooooooooooooo, where are you?
