Nah!!!!!!!!!!!!! Loving it too much at the moment.

Those stereo moments with the DTs though..... they make me want to put the world on pause occasionally.

Had a fab night out dancing. Saw that IAMF filled the thread and didn't even start a new one

So here it is and if you don't like the title.... well it's almost 3 in the morning. What's a Mars to do?

I think I'm going to get fat.

Was out working all day. DS1 made supper (chicken in Reggae Reggae sauce - his own idea). He also made a chocolate cake. That's the THIRD chocolate cake he's made in as many days!

I'm guessing my son likes chocolate cake!

Just terrible isn't it mars! I'm sure you're not going to get fat with all the dancing you do!

Triplets, enjoy your nivea! Hope you wake up revitalised!

TrickORTripletEm · 23/10/2007 08:45

Thanks T.A.T those were the sort of worries I had and also that my body couldn't take two multiple births,if that were to happen. I have to have treatment to get pg anyway,so I'm sure they will scare me as well. I have to act kind of fast as time is running out for me and DH because of the treatment we had,so it's a case of now or never really. But it gives me hope to know that if I did have another multiple birth it is managable

chopsterHeadsOffEverybody · 23/10/2007 09:12

ooh I'll have some of that chicken! I BBQed chicken in reggae reggae sauce over the summer - rather nice, but def better as a dip. dt1 loves it!

piximom, hope it's nothing serious, and it gets sorted soon.

t&t thanks for the advice, I'll def have to ask again nearer the time. I can't quite get my head round the whole idea. Holidays for me means temps in the thirties and wearing next to nothing! With the 6 of us, I'm dreading filling suitcases too, at least summer clothes don't take much space.
dp has jsut sent me a link to your current temperatures

I'm very tempted to hide under the duvet again. It's half term, noooo! The boys will not stop fighting atm, and shay still keeps biting. ds1 is still very weepy, and actually punched dt2 today, which is very unlike him. Really not sure how to handle it.

dd has nits again!! I must be doing somethign wrong. I comb it, get them all out, then three days later comb again, nothign there, check again a week later nothing, then a week after that she is riddled again. I'm thinking of resorting to chemicals, though I really didn't want to take that route.

Leoladyofleisure · 23/10/2007 09:26

Oh wow, listen to your mums of triplets talking about having more babies!!! How wonderful!!! I am so out of touch wiht you all that I didn't actually realise TandT that you are still pregnant with your 2. You aren't doing so much of the complaining about the pregnancy as us lesser people do! When are they due?

Triplets, the history your dts are doing sounds really interesting. Mine was really boring at school, but now I can look forward to helping my dcs wiht theirs (whispers) there can't be much to swiss history so they should get through that pretty quickly and get on with the interesting stuff !

Mars what a talented ds you have!

Feeling much better today, got over my shock from yesterday a bit and know now that my friend is in Munich with her family. I guess she is going to have to be giving her mum too much support to think too much about her own emotions .

Dt2 isn't well at the moment, just the usual snotty, blocked up nose keeping him awake and making him miserable, we chopped up an onion and hung it over his bed last night and I really believe it helped. He is usually so happy and can entertain himself for ages, but now he so needy and wants me to hold and carry him all the time, he is such a sweetie that I am really enjoying him. Dt1 and ds1 are both quite demanding and needy most of the time so its nice that dt2 can take first place for a change.

Momma, lucky you! I would love one of my rl friends to get pregnant with twins!

Chopster, your dd probably has a friend that keeps reinfecting her with nits.

TrickORTripletEm · 23/10/2007 10:54

Chopster I'm having your day too
Kids fighting, dog being sick,Molly threw up,I feel sick!!
Momma have you given me a virtual bug?
I have sung Here we go round the Mulberry bush about 20 times now and they still want to keep going!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

chopsterHeadsOffEverybody · 23/10/2007 12:39

I tried chucking mine out in the garden, but they all came back in again. Bugger!

TrickORTripletEm · 23/10/2007 13:53

Done that one too Chopster!! Except they all found a big stick that niether of them wanted to share so all hell broke lose!!!
I have just plopped them all in front of the telly to watch the flumps whilst they have quiet time and mummy has hers

MarsLady · 23/10/2007 14:13

Well I'm going to escape out the front door and visit with some clients!

After all.... DS1 has proved more than capable of looking after them, preparing supper and making cake!

tkband3 · 23/10/2007 15:30

Your DS1 sounds fab Mars - does he fancy a trip up north (well, we are a couple of miles further north than you ).

Am NOT enjoying half term so far. Decided this would be the week I'd potty train the DTs, so DD1 has been staying with my mum since Sunday. All fired up yesterday morning, got them up, and DT1 did a wee on the loo before she'd even got dressed . But it went downhill from there and hasn't got any better today. They're both quite happy to sit on the potty (although they are getting a bit bored with it now, even with the rewards!), and will sit there for 10 minutes watching telly or with me reading stories to them. DT2 will do a trickle, DT1 nothing, then they'll both get up and promptly wee all over the floor . I'm seriously wondering if I'm trying to push them to do something they're not ready for. I don't want to give up too soon (this is my second attempt, but the longest stint so far), but at the same time, I don't want to get too stressed or traumatise them over it if they're really not ready. Spoke to the HV about it this morning, and her advice was if they haven't got it by the end of the week, to give up and try again in a few weeks. But I don't want to have completely ruined half term for all of us. We've already missed the best days of the week!

Any hints anyone? HM how did you decide to do one of your boys and not the other? Was he showing particular signs of being ready? And chopster, you said one of yours still won't use the potty (sorry, can't remember which one), do you think he's aware what he's doing and just doesn't want to use the potty?

Pixi, hope your DH's eye clears up soon and it's nothing serious.

Leo, hope you are having a better day today.

Momma, hope you're feeling even better today and the DTs are still healthy.

FG, hope the sun is shining for you both literally and figuratively today.

triplets, hope you got a good night's sleep. your DTs projects sound great.

Em, v. impressed that you are thinking about no 4 .

And hello to everyone else! This thread has already got so long, I can't keep up . TAT - can you send over some of your warm weather please? .

TrickORTripletEm · 23/10/2007 16:27

Woh,woh!!! DH home in 15mins. Thank you Lord!!

TrickORTripletEm · 23/10/2007 16:27

Still want another one though

chopsterHeadsOffEverybody · 23/10/2007 17:54

tkband, yeah he knows what he is doing, just refuses point blank to use it for poos. He goes off to the stairs when he wants to go. I've given up for now. Good luck for you!

Harrogatemum · 23/10/2007 19:03

TKB - I tried with DT1 as DT2 was so very against the idea. But it was a disaster so this weekend I tried DT2. First day was awful, loads of wees in pants and finally at the end of the day a wee in the potty. Day 2 was half ok and then day 3 was brilliant, all wees AND a poo in the potty.

However today which is day 5 we have had all wees in the potty but both poos in pants.........bummer. And they are going to nursery tomorrow so we will have to see how that goes.....

inamuckingfuddle · 23/10/2007 19:04

hello everyone, my you have been busy these past few days, can't keep up! We've been away visiting family and friends and have had a lovely if rather indulgent time of it, so early nights all round tonight...once I've caught up with your goings on

piximon · 23/10/2007 19:06

Kelly-DS1 would not poo in a potty. He'd try to hold all day to wait for a night time nappy/pull up pants and within 5 mins of going to bed we'd get the stench drifting down the stairs. Even after a few attempts of using the toilet he still preferred the nappy. Of course it meant he had loads of accidents but one day he just got it. He still prefers to go at bedtime and quite often comes down 20 mins after going to bed to use the loo.

TKB- DD1 was not happy with the toilet training. She's more or less dry now but first we had a week of accidents, like yours, sitting on the potty for ages get up and wee everywhere. I knew she was capable of learning she just didn't want to. The saving grace was taking her out to buy princess knickers (the other ones she'd bought with me weren't special enough) and a better potty. She's now dry during the day but doesn't like to go if someone outside family has to take her, so she has occasional accidents at nursery where she tries to hold for so long.

Devonians- can't wait to join you, wanted to be gone by xmas, but without DH able to drive me down to house view I'm stuck here. Did think about sending my mum down on the train but the estate agents don't seem keen to take people to view the properties so she'd be stranded.

As for Halloween, I love Halloween! That'll be the goth in me. Halloween is such a special day to DH and I that we chose it for our wedding. (It'll be our 4th wedding anniversary this year, although I've been friends with DH since I was 16!) I love getting the children dressed up and the house decorated. I would do the garden if the kids round here wouldn't keep destroying everything in sight. This year will be very quiet for us, with DH sick and all the decs packed at the back of the garage but my heart will still be in it. I love the idea of being in a community where people get dressed up and take the kids trick or treating while someone throws a big fancy dress party (been watching too many Halloweeny films this week lol), I was never allowed to do it when I was growing up and I wouldn't go door to door around here. Maybe I should move to America...

oooggs · 23/10/2007 19:20

piximon - hope dh is better soon

hi to all - I can't keep up

TrickORTripletEm · 23/10/2007 20:15

Hi ooggs!! Piximon are you really coming?

Momma got any pledge polish I can borrow? Chuck it over the fence!!!

piximon · 23/10/2007 20:34

Really truly TripEm, soon as we can get a 6mth rental sorted.

TrickORTripletEm · 23/10/2007 20:42

That is sooooooo great Piximon

Did you go on the website and look at the properties I said about? Or were they no good?

piximon · 23/10/2007 20:49

Website was great, thanks for the link, they have a few for just under £700 which is cheaper than I could find beforehand. Had two lined up to see last Sat, but had to cancel as DH couldn't drive.

tkband3 · 23/10/2007 20:54

Thanks for the potty training support everyone. chopster, DD1 refused to poo anywhere except a nappy right up till just before Xmas last year. We honestly thought she would be doing it in nappies at school. We tried all tactics - bribery, threats, forcing her (not a good move, still feel like a bad mummy for that one) etc, but one day she just did it, all by herself. I'm sure it was partly because she'd had such horrid bowel problems before her coeliac was diagnosed and had been so constipated that it could sometimes take her an hour of crouching on all fours like a woman in labour to poo (sorry if TMI), the poor lamb didn't fancy sitting on the loo for all that time. Once she knew she was better, she was fine. But it is a really common issue apparently. I posted on here about it and someone suggested putting a nappy in the potty - didn't try that one, but it had worked for their child.

Let's hope tomorrow is a better day...I have joined another thread here with other m'ners who have all started training this week and it has given me some hope .

TrickORTripletEm · 23/10/2007 20:56

Nooooooo!! Thats so frustrating!! I'll keep my ear out in case I hear of anything. I have a lot of friends who rent,so you never know

estar · 23/10/2007 22:32

This is the fastest moving thread ever!

Had my antenatal appt at the hospital today. They gave me an induction date of Monday, which is only 3 days earlier than it would have been anyway but at least its something. Also gave me a 'sweep' which I've never had before and is a very misleading term because it sounds all lovely and gentle and its NOT! And still nothing....

MarsLady · 23/10/2007 23:10

are you sure you want an induction babe?

Hi all!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I am now fully booked to April and still the enquiries are coming. Had to turn down a May booking as I'll be in St Lucia for the Jazz Festival!(She's expecting DTs).

Visited a lovely mum expecting DTs tonight. I'm looking forward to her birth.

Now... have all the lurgies cleared up ladies? Or do I need to continue to fumigate the room?

The newbies won't want to be coming in with all this puking, coughing and sneezing! So line up. I've hot lemon, honey and rum for you all!
