Evening ladies, thanks for all the welcomes.

Why do nurseries/pre-school's not call you when little ones are upset. It really bugs me. I have been told they don't want to worry you, when LO are fine. But I feel all it does is make you mistrust them. Luckily my DS1 has settled in to foundation fine and DS2 loves nursery.

Happy anniversary triplets. My DP hasn't got a ring on my finger yet even tho been together 13+ years. (quickly look round to make sure DP isn't looking and sees that I can't remember how long we've been together)

Mummalove - congrats I get the jist your DT's are new, how old?

Mars - what are you studying?

Leo - when on holiday last year )portugal of all places) my Dad told me all happily that some (strange) man had taken a photo of DS1&2, I was horrified, but my Dad didn't seem to know why!

4under5 · 24/09/2007 20:25

Chopster, Mars everyone thanks for support. I haven't been to any clubs/groups etc. Frstly no car to fit everyone but mainly as I always feel like I bring maddness to all occasions. Even before DT's my 2 DS;s are proper little boys and run riot. Now with DT's too I think I'll be chuckedout. Not many multiples around here. Actually saw a lady see us all walking along and lip read her saying "OMG how many" in a disgusted face. Anyone else feel like they bring havoc with them?

estar · 24/09/2007 20:35

Yes! My dh is always suggesting that I 'pop in' to see such-and-such a person and I'm like . I like to give people plenty of warning and even then I brace myself for the huge effort of having to follow them round managing the chaos. There are some people (usually childless) who say 'Ooo, we'll have to have you round some time' and I say 'Yes, that would be lovely', but inwardly I'm thinking 'Not a chance - I can tell just by looking at you that your furniture, floors and walls are all CREAM!'

No tornados but managed to damage both myself and the car by the freak weather conditions today - I parked up to pick up the dts, opened the driver door and it whipped forward faster than I have ever experienced in my life! Of course, I had hold of the handle, so I got the biggest jolt ever down my spine. Then when I came to get back in, the door wouldn't open, so something's obviously twisted or snapped, and when I tried to climb thru the passenger side, I managed to strain myself even more because I had to wrestle to hold that door from blowing forward while I got in (took several attempts to close it!). Now I am very very sore .

MarsLady · 24/09/2007 20:50

I normally get people to come to me saves my stress levels!

So............ I was at another birth today! Best one I've ever seen. Over within 2.5hours of me being there. Water birth. She breathed the baby out.... I know... I was there!

Anyhoo........... just the small matter of an essay to finish and a quick pop to the local salsa club to celebrate a birthday and listen to a live Cuban band. I'm sorry Chops........... I'd fail the exam for a live Cuban band! lol

4under5 · 24/09/2007 20:59

estar - sounds painful. Go and have a nice bath to soothe away pain. It adds to the whole loads of kids thing though, you know even the wind is against you making everything look mad to outsiders. We had a massive branch fall of a tree in front of us on way home from school today.

I actually got a bit paranoid that people wouldn't want usround anymore, but then, I think you've got it right, it is more me than them. All those Mums sitting chatting and texting at park on way home , me running around like mad women. They all leave the park looking just as glam, me looking even more bushed up.

triplets · 24/09/2007 21:16

Good evening lovely ladies,
Had a good day? I have been a domestic goddess today, cook, bake, cook..........made fab curried parsnip soup, got loads of enormous parsnips in our allotment, then made Devon chicken for supper, felt a sense of smug achievement, home grown veggies, then kids all asked for fishcakes and chips! Becca was out for tea and came back with her lovely blonde hair all crimped! She thinks it looks fab, I thought she looked like something from the Adams family(any of you young enough to remember that programme?)Will it straighten overnight? Had to force myself to get out all the letters and reports on Matthew to take to the hospital on Thurs, so so upsetting, letters I read then put away, never been able to look at them, lots of tears. But I am so hoping that this doctor will give us some reassurance about these three, would be so nie to stop panicking every time one looks unwell. Right better go and pay some bills, oh, btw, I had a letter from Channel 4 today asking if we would be interested in taking part in a 4 month fly on the wall prog to be shown next year................can you imagine in this house! Would definitely have to dig out the twinset and pearls!!!!

TripletEm · 24/09/2007 21:17

That depends Egg. How good are you at driving a tractor and saying me'dear alot?!!

estar · 24/09/2007 21:19

Ooo, triplets, that would be fascinating! Are you going to do it?

tripletsandtwins · 24/09/2007 21:43

Triplets, that would be amazing! If you wash your dds hair or it gets wet the crimps will fall out straight away.

triplets · 24/09/2007 22:06

Definitely not! Imagine trying to be in control and nice all the time, because that is what you would try to be like isnt it? Its bad enough here as it is, esp bedtime, the boys are driving me insane. Thomas winds James up all the time, James cried and that makes Thomas worse. Rebecca bawls at them from her room to be quiet, we are bawling from downstairs, then James drags all his bedding onto the landing and refuses to sleep in the same room as Tom Tom, saying he should have been born an only child!! We need a bigger house, 5 bedrooms would do me, one for me so I can escape from everybody and read my books in peace!Harry goes to bed early, so I cant have the light on to read, so I am on here..................my saviours!

twinsrfun · 24/09/2007 23:20

Hi I'm another newbie, DT boys were 12 months old when I started reading this thread but now 12.5 months!

Nice to meet you all, you all sound lovely.

Off to bed now as have work in the morning but will look in tomorrow night and say hello again.

MarsLady · 25/09/2007 00:38

Hi twinsrfun! Welcome. Grab some cake and a seat. Be careful of FG she likes to swing her norks at you!

Tea? Coffee? Vodka??????????

oooggs · 25/09/2007 08:19

must be the water down 'ere leo
well sort of I work, shop, socialise & party (hardly) in Devon but live in Cornwall

welcome twinsrfun

please remind me it does get easier. It does doesn't it? [pleading emotion]

Leoladyofleisure · 25/09/2007 09:03

Triplets, is it because of the triplets that c4 want to do a thing on you? Why don't you send them in the direction of Tripletsandtwins - sounds as if she would be up for it!!!! I may even move back to the UK temporarily to watch it!

Ooogs, I guess its ups and down and how you deal with it all at the time. Things are not too bad here at all at the moment, but probably because I'm in a good mood (if I ignore the huge piles of washing and clothes that need putting away, the empty fridge, the living room looking like a tornado has hit (and we are actually having great weather), the fact that I have changed my clothes twice already this morning - Toby has a really annoying habit of blowing rasberries when he is eating, I can guarantee to get sprayed everytime I feed him, somedays I can laugh about it but other days I am close to screaming.

Ds was miserable going back to nursery again today. All the carers have changed over hte past few months and because he has been away for 3 weeks there wasn't a single one he knows there today, which also means that there was no experienced, trained responsible person there either ! Don't know what we are going to do, I want to put the dts in there when I go back to work in January as we haven't got even close to finding a reasonable alternative.

Leoladyofleisure · 25/09/2007 09:04

Oh, welcome Twinsrfun !

triplets · 25/09/2007 14:20

Hi,
I dont think its because we have triplets, I think they have spies that trawl sites like ours and spot a good story! We lost an only child, had triplets when I was 46 and hubby 57, good viewing to some! We could have sold our story a dozen times, but its still painful talking about Matthew and I couldnt bear to see his photos on show, there is one on my profile as some very lovely ladies on here have been so supportive about him, but thats different.

frumpygrumpy · 25/09/2007 17:24

welcome, twinsrfun (you'll have to change your name, I can't shorten it well )

Em, leave your DP home alone for a short while. Punshiment enough I reckon

Triplets!!!! On the telly!!!! wow! Do it!!! DO IT!!!! Just smile constantly and always always wear lipgloss. The nation will love you! I'm excited. Please say yes.

Mars, your evening sounds tremendous. I am shaking my hips for you (in opposite directions as normal )

frumpygrumpy · 25/09/2007 17:25

And don't talk about Matthew if you don't want to. Some doors remain closed for good reasons. I love doors.

piximon · 25/09/2007 19:04

Evening all. I had my scan today. Just the one in there. Think I should be relieved, means I don't have to worry about getting a buggy to accommodate four lol. But happy as I am that everything appeared well on the scan it all seemed a bit underwhelming. Twin scans generated much excitement and fussing etc and this time it was "everything appears to be normal, goodbye" and I was in and out in what seemed like 5 mins rather than the half an hour I got used to last time round. My mum said "oh you'll have to just have another one after so you have even numbers"
Having a nightmare trying to explain to DS1 and DD1 that they cannot go the circus across the road from us as it is not a real circus (they'll be filming cirque de celebrite there so no under 8s are allowed). Last year they also ran a proper circus in between the tv shows which anyone could go to and the DCs have sung the theme tune ever since going.

TripletEm · 25/09/2007 19:07

(T.EM enters and ducks immediately as one of FG's norks swing in her direction)
Blimey!!
Good evening everyone, just finished reading two chapters of the Faraway Tree to my D.x3. I used to love that book so much when I was younger, but now see it in a rather different light It's full of Dick and Fanny's adventures in queer lands with lot's of spankings!! Was trying to read it with a straight face but I could hear DH sniggering from downstairs!!

oooggs · 25/09/2007 19:09

I remember that tripletem - those were the days...........

TripletEm · 25/09/2007 19:15

I know!! Life was so simple when your biggest worry was sherbet dip or sherbert saucers!!
Congrats on the scan P. I'm feeling a bit broody now!!

Leoladyofleisure · 25/09/2007 21:13

Wow, Piximon, I didn't know you were pregnant again! Congratulations! You brave woman!

twinsrfun · 25/09/2007 21:42
