C'mon girls. Got bored of waiting and started the new thread!

Thank you all,
Yep, managed another day without popping a pill................and no Banrock either! Not sure if its a good or bad sign! Ooggs, where did you live in Deal, might have known you, and where do you live in Cornwall? Sorry, I am just plain nosey you don`t have to say! Better go, all 3 running riot in the car-park, the old girl on the corner will be out any mo!

estar · 18/06/2007 22:00

My goodness me, ladies, I stay off the pc for two weeks and it takes me over an hour to catch up with the thread - I'm exhausted!

I hope the sleep problems are working themselves out, you never know when you will look back on certain things as a brief phase or whether they will turn into the worst habits that you wish you'd nipped in the bud right at the beginning.

Triplets - glad you have the opportunity for counselling. Talking, talking, talking is I believe the best way to get yourself through anything, and some dhs are fine with that, some aren't. You have to do whatever works.

I am now 22 weeks and HUUUUGE. I think I'm gonna be like largeG&T size by the end. Was trying very much to focus on your gorgeous wide-eyed baby on your picture profile but couldn't help glancing down at the 38 week picture and wincing....

Had our scan last week and found out the sex. We've not told anyone else, not sure whether to divulge to you MNetters or not

MarsLady · 18/06/2007 22:16

Divulge!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Spill it, we're as tight as a

frumpygrumpy · 18/06/2007 22:35

Of course, I meant, do tell darling, we won't tell another soul

estar · 18/06/2007 23:19

Ha ha, yeh, I thought I would anyway - I just wanted the attention first

It's a boy!

Dh is over the moon as he now has four male offspring and was terrified at the thought of having a girl as he would have been the most protective father ever.

I have to admit to you girls though (only here on this thread and NEVER in real life) that I was really surprised and it did take me a couple of days to get over it. I didn't think I was hankering for a girl, but when we got back from the hospital and it hit me that after four babies I still wasn't going to have a daughter, there were a few tears shed! I suppose every girl growing up imagines themselves having a little girl one day and even though I've always wanted a mighty brood of boys (my dad being one of five), I always thought there would be a little girl thrown in there somewhere just to balance it out a bit and feel like I had someone on 'my side' (which is silly because I'm so close to my boys). Anyway, I let myself indulge in some depressive wallowing for about 24 hours just to let it out of my system and make sure that I didn't suddenly wobble in front of everyone else. Poor dh didn't know what to do with me and tried to say helpful things like 'at least we'll never have to pay for a wedding' to which I wailed 'I'll never get to go wedding dress shopping with a giiirrrrrl' but he is wonderful at giving me room in my crazy hormonal states and now I've done all that I feel much better and quite at peace with the whole thing.

I even went to Next and bought a little blue t-shirt that said 'Super Funky Little Dude' to start getting me back into the boy mindset. And with all the fierce kicking going on, I wonder now how I ever doubted it could be a boy!

Chopster · 19/06/2007 08:06

oh wow estar, that's lovely - four boys! Don't feel bad for being a little shocked though, I still hanker after a little girl to even things up because I've three boys and a girl. Mind you, I've got to say my girl is often the most irritating out of the lot! She howled all the way to school last week as her plaits came loose and so I had to redo it with ponytails (lack of time). She had been worrying about her hair a lot, so we chatted at the weekend and she decided she wanted a shorter cut, so I did her a lovely asymmetrical bob. She lvoed it, but come monday she was howling all the way to school again because one side was more curled under than the other.

muckingfuddle, legoland is brilliant for preschool kids. My older two love it as well, but it really is marketed for toddlers and the staff are brilliant with them. If you can though, try to go on a schoolday, because it's so much quieter and you will be able to get most of it done. In August you won't have a hope on earth of doing it all with the girls. Also, look on ebay for tickets, there are lots of cheap ones about. I bought my annual pass cheap on there, and day tickets. If the weather holds off I'm off again today. I went four times last week - 2 full days and two half days and have found new things to do each time!

speedymama · 19/06/2007 08:42

Hi Marslady and t'others, I must make more of an effort to post on this thread.

Congratulations Estar on having another boy! Hope you do not feel to outnumbered when DS4 finally arrrives.

Marslady, I saw you on the other thread and yes, I am looking at schools already but only because I have been told that we have to apply in November. So I thought that I should at least familiarise myself with what is available. My number one criteria is walking distance and all the ones I have chosen are between 5-10 minutes walk. I feel very lucky to have so many schools on my doorstep. My next criteria is schools with breakfast and afterschool clubs so unfortunately I have had to rule out my first choice school which is only 5 minutes walk from my house and very high performing.

I would consider using a childminder but my family are so against that idea that I can't be bothered to argue with them. Anyway, the other schools are just as good and ultimately, the enriching home environment that DH and I are providing will hopefull enhance and complement their progress at school.

In a way, I wish the boys could stay in nursery until age 11 because they have thrived so much there. Oh hum!

speedymama · 19/06/2007 08:47

Triplets, just scanned thread and saw your message. I hope you are feeling better and I'm hurling positive vibes your way

Here goes! {{{{{{{{{{{{{{+++++++vibes}}}}}}}}}}}}}

Leoladyofleisure · 19/06/2007 08:47

Oh, I've lost you all again.
Mars, I'll look out some bfeeding photos this evening and will catch up with everyone later. Got ds1 and dts on my own today. Meeting friend at pool if I can ever get ds1 dressed and the car packed!

oooggs · 19/06/2007 09:16

speedymamma - we are having to apply for schools this september for a september 2008 start. (Ds1 born dec 2003) it is going so fast!!!!

Triplets will speak to parents about when and where we were in Deal - lived there 3 times service familes for you. I do know we came to Saltash, Cornwall in 1984 and have beed here ever since.

Estar - good luck with the pregnancy, we didn't did out the sex of dt's (wouldn't admit this in rl) but I was worried that I would be disappointed if it was 2 boys (already having 1) that sounds awful so I wanted to wait. DD is the hardest so far at 11 weeks. Boys rock

Chopster - we are hoping to get to Legoland this year. DH and I took my Brownies years ago and we loved it. DS1 (3.6) will think it is great.

Hey Ladyofleisure - I also have all 3 dc's on own today - I find Tuesdays really hard work - compare notes later

Inamuckyfuddle - glad you liked dt's pics

frumpygrumpy - dt's still in bedtime routine daytime feeding getting there as well

mars - sorry no breastfeeding photos, regret that now

hope all ok - taking dts to get weighed this morning then off to the park so ds1 can loose some energy if the weather holds out.

triplets · 19/06/2007 17:00

Hi all,
Everyone is sounding good today, inc me.............hooray! Weather here is fantastic again, long may it last, always makes me feel so much better. Five weeks until my big holiday............though how Ill manage without you lot for 4 weeks I dont know!

oooggs · 19/06/2007 17:46

Where are you off to Triplets?

MarsLady · 19/06/2007 18:08

Hi ladies. If you look at my new site you'll see a certain someone (HM) that won't be mentioned bfing her boys.

Estar.... I always dreamt of having 4 boys and was shocked when DD1 (second child) appeared. You could always go for number 5 or do an LG&T and have 6

Hi all... can't stop. Running my first antenatal course tonight. Too nervous to be excited too excited to be nervous

OP posts:
Chopster · 19/06/2007 18:22

thats a beautiful pic! What gorgeous little red heads. I wish I had taken pics of that, I never thought of it at the time.

inamuckingfuddle · 19/06/2007 18:54

good luck mars, I'm sure you'll be fab!

congrats estar (rather you than me)

we have to apply for school for DTs in sept too, they were Dec 03 too oooggs, it is a really terrifying thought and I'm not sure how I'll manage getting them there and back - teaching is v inflexible about the school day sadly

DTs being little pests at night at the mo, taking ages to settle, procrastinating like nobody's business!

frumpygrumpy · 19/06/2007 20:51

estar, what can I say sweetheart, totally normal I think. I'm glad you were able to get it out on here as now its said and done with, and, like all your other children and pregnancies, as soon as he's here you won't ever be able to think of handing him back for anything. I think everyone has similar feelings at some point. I remember Overrun having similar, a looooong time ago (where the hell is Overrun????) And I know I was wetting myself thinking "how will I love two children the same".......then I had a scan to be told it was DTs

Good luck Mars! Almost worth getting pregnant for BTW, Kelly, how is your phantom pregnancy? Still phantom? Made any breastmilk muffins?

MarsLady · 19/06/2007 22:19

Hey ladies! It was brilliant!!!!!!!!!!! I loved it. Becky loved it! I can only hope the couples loved it. It was just 2 couples today. 1 mum was too ill and so pulled out, the other couple are away to celebrate his birthday so joining next week.

So.... you can help me. What do you think of my website? Like it? Hate it? What can be improved?

OP posts:
largeginandtonic · 19/06/2007 22:37

Evenin all, hows it goin?

DH went back to work yesterday, very bad to go on (well any day would be) I had to do the school run in terrential rain, could not get parked and had to sneakily park in the teachers bit. Ushered twins off, took ds#3 and dd in holding yelling Beau and dragging grumpy ds#4. Got to the classroom and was told ds#3 was Starfish of the week (prestigious award) and he had his assembly that morning. Cue dash to the car in rain even heavier than before, strap squirming children in and then move the car. Dash back in to school for assembly totally unprepared, no nappy bag so no snacks/toys for ds#4

Saw HV that afternoon, Beau is 10lb 14.5oz!!! He is only 3 weeks and seems to be stacking on the weight, clotted cream milk perhaps??? Took them to toddlers after that.

After school one of the twins had a part at Pizza Hut, 5pm in the worst possible place for a commute at rush hour. Took me 45mins to get there and he was 20 mins late (bad mummy) Party only lasted till 6.15! Took the others to Tesco while we waited, cafe shut so had to go to KFC to feed them (i hate, hate KFC) Got home at 7.15, sent 4 out to play and bathed the other 2, finally sat down at 8.30.

So you see.... bad day for DH to go on

Estar HUGE congrats on the little lad news, i LOVE boys

Triplets so sorry you have had a rough time, lots of love to you xxxxx

Mommalove my twins were born at 29 weeks and i breastfed them till they were 9 monthsish. I sat on the breast pump in hospital for the first 10 weeks before they could feed properly, it was hard work but totally worth it. I used to rugby ball hold them to feed.

Mars your website is FAB! I wanna have you as my doula for the next one, may consider a move to London

Sure i have forgotten loads, mush postnatal brain apologies. Night night, hope to get in a couple of hours before Beau wakes

MarsLady · 19/06/2007 22:43

I need you to check out my other site www.thebabymoon.co.uk That's the one I need feed back on.

lg&t... maybe I'll come to you!

Tis a fabby website Mars, i have read the whole lot. It is very clear and user friendly, also nice to see photos. The one of the new daddy and his father (?) hugging almost made me cry! Im sure you will be very popular

A train ride only 2 hours from London........ i will cross my legs Course it is not happening for at least 2 years

MarsLady · 19/06/2007 22:54

Then when you get the first twinge you call... I come!

Thank you for that. I love the picture of the dad hugging his dad as well.... oh and I took it! Oh yes, the photographer doula!

OP posts:
largeginandtonic · 19/06/2007 23:03

Mars your talents are endless.... no pics of me when you attend the birth of Septumus and Octavious (im having twins next i think) I hate having my photo taken, duck and hide i say

MarsLady · 19/06/2007 23:18

I practise on you lot!

OP posts:
Chopster · 20/06/2007 08:27

can I come in and comment?

I think there needs to be a seperate section for about you. The way it tails off on the first page is a bit messy, and it's easy to miss the link.

On most of the pages you have that nice banner going across the top, but not on the home page, which looks a little cluttered.

I think the photos should be more spread out on the sleep counselling page. perhaps put one to the top left and writing around it.

I'm picky, but dp works as a web designer for a living, and I've also done a few sites.

everyone please send ds1 positive vibes/prayers for today. It's his first school trip on his own (to a farm), and I'm bricking it! Last time he went somewhere alone he dislocated a finger (very common to dislocate joints with hypermobility). He is also extremely unpredctable, and I have visions of him climbing into animal enclosures or throwing things at them. Well at least it isn't a zoo
