Hi everyone,
Just been reading all your messages and do you know, most of it seems doom and gloom! Look we all know having more than one is hard, but we are SPECIAL!It is always going to be twice the work or as in my case three times but it is also three times as rewarding! Its not all bad, just scary thinking about it. There are lots of mums I know who have only one and they arent coping either!! Seems a doddle to me but you cant tell them that! Just think of them all going off to school together, always got each other to play with at the same level, etc. My trio are nine now, and although they fight at times, 80% of the time they are happy playing together. There are times when they drive me nuts as some of you will remember, but then I love them to bits and remind myself how incredibly special they are and how much they are wanted. Don`t forget everything goes in stages, all things will pass! There is a positive side, I promise, one of them is right here, imagine what it would be like not having the support of Mumsnet, what would we do then?

Not really, of course you are right triplets, my dts are 9 this year and they are ok now. Its just the other 3 and the one in utero that is gving me grief......

Leo's twins look sooooo cute though, it does make me hanker after another baby (lucky really as im 30 wks preg) LOL

Im waiting for my shopping to arrive, the only slot available was between 8-10pm The cupboards are bare but i refuse to push a massive shopping trolley any more. My back is so sore after doing it. I must be more organised and plan ahead before the food starts running out

The kids had cottage pie with waffles (no pots) for tea..... They ate it up

Oh largeginandtonic, Now its my turn to bow low to you! Just read your profile and am full of admiration and envy of your young age! Your children are all so beautiful, did you always plan to have a big family? You must be a very organized person, all that and you find time to read, I take my hat off to you!!

triplets · 05/03/2007 21:33

Hi Tkband3,
I had completely forgotten about it, but reading your thread about your daughter has reminded me that my little girl used to do it, must have started when she was about 3 and did it on and off(so to speak) for about a year, the boys used to watch her and ask what was she doing! I always ignored it, husband used to find it highly embarassing! Better to do it now than later!

estar · 05/03/2007 21:39

tkband3, I have boys not girls but my five year old is pretty excessive in wanting to do that ALL the time. What I decided was instead of saying it was wrong, I told him he could only do it in his bed, which makes him realise its a personal thing and gives him the choice (ie keep watching this film with your brothers or be on your own in your room). Also made a deal out of his willy being special and not to let other people see it, as he would often absent-mindedly get it out of his pants - at least you don't have that problem with girls! This however, has led to some interesting discussions - ie walking up to people he barely knows, proudly pointing at his pants and telling them his willy is in there and it's very special so they can't see it!

tkband3 · 05/03/2007 22:14

oh I feel soooo much better now. Am PMSL at estar's description of DS telling everyone how special his willy is . OH has been concerned as well, but is much reassured and has also been much entertained by your posts.

Thank you all .

Kelly1978 · 06/03/2007 08:22

pmsl That is so funny estar!

glad you are feeling better tkband

Keep your fingers crossed for me everyone, ds1 has a physio assessment this afternoon. He has improved loads so I'm hoping they won't find him to be too delayed.

Kelly1978 · 06/03/2007 09:24

Early rising dts, can anyone help here

largeginandtonic · 06/03/2007 12:27

ROFL at all your fiddly children.....the boys have all fiddled for a while when the nappy comes off and i start to potty train. They soon get bored though thankfully!

DS#3 came out of school on friday and said to (thankfully) dh "look my willy is all hard and massive" LOL. DH just laughed and said, "leave it alone and it will soon go down", while sureptitiously checking out the chick he had been sat next to on the rug waiting while waiting to be picked up, it was a boy.......

Glad it was him and not me

Am having very bad morning, have a lump in my nether regions that the doctor has no clue as to what it is. He helpfully said "come back in a few weeks and i will check again" WTF?

The school have phoned and said they think dd has broken her finger and will keep an eye on it, it may mean casualty with all 5 after school. DS #3 (willy culprit) has been up coughing all night and i may have to take him to the doctors later too.

The school i had organised for them all to go to while i return to Plymouth to have the baby has just phoned and they have no spaces after all!!! Luckily have found another but the children dont know it at all, so now i feel awful.

Shoot me now.........

Good luck with the physio Kelly, hope he is ok xxx

Kelly1978 · 06/03/2007 16:42

Good news!

The physio said that ds1 has hyperlaxitive joints, they are extremely bendy compared to normal, but it isn't severe enough to need physio. But he is going to get occupational therapy to help with fine motor control, because although his gross motor is getting more manageable, his fine motor is still very delayed.
She said so much stuff that really explains a lot of his problems. His tiredness is due to extra effort that he has to put into anything physical, he is turning his feet in because of the extra flexibility in his ankles, so it is no wonder he keeps tripping. Within ten minutes of getting there she said it's no surprise that he clumsy because he is soo bendy.
It may also explain a lot of his behavioural issues too, because he has had to put so much effort into anything physical.

I'm not crazy!!! Despite everyone ignoring me, there is a problem and he is finally going to get help for it, and I wasn't imagining anything or trying to create problems. The number of people who have said ohh he isnt that bad, he wasnt that late doing xyz, etc. can all go stuff themselves! I am so relieved, especially because it shouldn't cause him any problems in the future, jsut have to look at managing tiredness, OT and probably speech therapy, and strength isn't a problem at all, so he may even become an athlete due to super flexibility.

At last I have something concrete that I can take to SS, and say yes, he does get bruised a lot because he has this problem, and he does have behavourial problems becuase of this rather than them keep thinking I'm trying to make excuses. I'm breaking open the wine tonight!

Marscentio · 06/03/2007 18:21

Kelly...... well praise God and Hallelujah!!!!!!!!!

estar....... loved loved loved your stories. I could have that many (even though I have a mere 5 children lol)

TK....I remember DD2 played with herself for blimming ages. I won't tell you how she used to chew toys and use the chewed ends.... no that would be TMI!

Leo........ you are doing a brilliant job my angel. It's early days. Keep doing what you are doing. I know it's exhausting but it will come good. I bfed my pair until they were 18 months (though the way DT2 carries on you'd think I was still feeding them.

1b3... big hugs and kisses honey. I used a body pillow. It was (and still is) wonderful.

FG... good to hear you sounding so much happier.

Overrun... study's the only way I retain my sanity.

lg&t.... soon baby soon!

I'm off to cuddle the wee pixis on Thursday.

I'm currently in One of the women on my OU course got 98% for her first TMA (tutor marked assignment). I'll just give up now then. lol

largeginandtonic · 06/03/2007 19:31

Afternoon from hell too, grrrr

Picked up all from school but had an extra too, she had cancelled this morning but plans had changed. So put all 6 in the car only for dt2 to tell me i had to go in to school and talk to the headteacher!! Left them all in the car and went in, luckily it was only to tell me the other Plymouth school had phoned.

DD's finger still looked bad so took her straight to the surgery for nurse to have a quick look. I ended up with doc appointment for 40 mins time, aaaaaaghhhhh. So trooped all 6 in to waiting area and waited for ages, saw doc. Took 5 mins, said just soft tissue damage no fracture. Why oh why could the nurse not have a quick look!!!!

Home at 5 and still had tea to make and now a parent of 1 (friends for tea's mother) coming to collect her at 6. Mad tea making of toad in the hole carrots and mash. I had been to her house and it was immaculate.....cue cleaning madness for 20 mins while tea cooked. Children all sat at the table eating as she arrived, was prob horrified at amount of children and chaos. Worse was to come.....dd said come and see my house, nooooooooooooo. Immaculate, only 1 child lady was looking round my house.

Was laughing to myself a bit though, was thinking FG would never get caught out like that....

Kids in bed now, soooooo wish i had some wine in the house. Think i have Kalhua....white russian anyone (milk is good for the baby you know)

So glad your ds is ok Kelly, poo to all of those who doubted you. Mums know best, when will everyone else learn.....

Hello every one, I will come and catch up with the thread later, but just wanted to post this
voila

Overrun · 06/03/2007 19:47

Sorry I should have said it is migraine related

dingdongjustforyoufg · 06/03/2007 20:00

fab news Kelly, enjoy that wine, you deserve it

sorry to read about your migraines getting worse overrun, you definitely need to get medical advice I think, just to eliminate possible triggers if nothing else

LG&T what a day! Makes me glad to be at work

will catch up properly now...in the meantime if anyone can help I am really struggling to find something to wear for my brother's wedding in Ireland at Easter, I am quite keen on this with these but will it be too bright? And will I be too cold? Too red? Too silly? Too fat?

Overrun · 06/03/2007 20:06

Kelly, thats great news. Hopefully SSD will take that on board, and you will get the help you need now.
Lgt, wow wonder woman Glad the finger was alright, but what a pita
Crickets - how are you doing
Leo - hang in there, it does get better, it does get better

dingdongjustforyoufg · 06/03/2007 20:11

Leo I have v clear memories of sitting on the sofa hour after hour with my feet rocking one or other or both the DTs in their bouncy chairs, it seemed to go on for ever but apparently it was only a couple of months

Kelly1978 · 06/03/2007 20:29

I love that dress dingdong. Not so keen on the shoes, personally I'd go for something with more of a delicate heel. But you prob have farrr smaller feet than me!

I'm in awe of you, largegin, singleton parents don't get past the front door of my house! Glad dd's finger is ok.

dingdongjustforyoufg · 06/03/2007 20:33

ta kelly, I have big feet, am slightly taller than DH so don't want too much of a heel though I do rather like these but they are too high - and I also wondered about these - have posted in style but not much happening there!

Kelly1978 · 06/03/2007 20:35

defo no to the kew ones, the boden ones are perfect, shame you say they are too tall. They are the ideal style for that dress, I'd look around for something like that.

Kelly1978 · 06/03/2007 20:35

I'd only wear the kew ones with trousers. If I cud get my size 10s into them, that is.

dingdongjustforyoufg · 06/03/2007 20:39

LOL kelly, glad its not just me kew ones don't come big enough, will order both the boden ones and see which look best I think... DH is v keen on the 'sexy platforms' (but with nothing else )

Kelly1978 · 06/03/2007 20:41

I woouldn't dare tell you what dp would like to see me in with nothing else, but it's amazing what you find on ebay when you look for size 10 shoes! I'm nearly 6ft though, so sorta proportionate.

Hm, where are you? Surely you've got big flippers too?

nally · 06/03/2007 20:43

who is paolo?
