Someone suggested if on the D'ya ever wonder how life still carried on like this? thread - so I thought I would start the ball rolling in an idle moment.

I have 3.75 year old id twin boys, and a 5.25 DS1 as well.

Live in rural Norfolk, work part-time in computer support. DH works part-time as a research scientist, and spends the rest of his time looking after the boys and building an extension.

Life is hectic - but pretty good at the moment. Twins are a real challenge - but a total privilege and fascinating.

I can't wait until they can talk jsut a little bit more.

We'll remind you of that in a year's time - I currently wish mine would talk a LOT less

lol, don't! Anything gotta be better than they are now, puleeease. dd and ds were def easier once they turned 2, but one things twins have def taught me is don't count on anything.

Charellie · 11/10/2006 16:55

I live in Berkshire and work part time i IT support. My dh works in IT.

We have 4 year old non identical twin girls

throckenholt · 11/10/2006 16:55

blackCATsandbroomsticksJ - if they look very alike then they may well be id - but late implanting ones that had their own placentas (that is a common thing I have read about on the twinsclub forums in the past). - no way of telling for sure without a DNA test that costs about £80 I think.

charellie, I live in berks and have a dp in IT too, spooky!

FarMARSWarrick · 11/10/2006 17:09

1becomes3.... a doula. Not a silly question. Lots of people don't know. In the simplist terms a doula is a birth support companion. A postnatal doula comes to your home and helps empower you to be with your new baby (light housework, cooking, sharing baby care skills etc). A doula would be to the mother what her mother (ideally) would be. In short a doula "mothers the mother". She'll stay with you throughout your labour whether it's 40mins or 48 hours long. Does that help?
