Someone suggested if on the D'ya ever wonder how life still carried on like this? thread - so I thought I would start the ball rolling in an idle moment.

I have 3.75 year old id twin boys, and a 5.25 DS1 as well.

Live in rural Norfolk, work part-time in computer support. DH works part-time as a research scientist, and spends the rest of his time looking after the boys and building an extension.

Life is hectic - but pretty good at the moment. Twins are a real challenge - but a total privilege and fascinating.

Me 33
DH 33
DSS 14
DSD 12 & 8
Identical twin boys 8½ months
Cat 9(ish, we think)

House of total chaos, as both DH and I work full time (went back when the twins were only 3 months old as could not afford any more time off!).
I dream of the day of a tidy house and less laundry!!!

mozhe · 16/10/2006 18:54

Twinboys I went back when my twins were 3 months fulltime, although i'd had a month of part time prior to this....how did you find it ? I didn't think I'd ever ' meet ' anyone else who'd gone back this early with twins,( and older ones too...snap ! ), as so many people seemed to think i was a ' one off ', but it can work can't it ??

Mozhe - it works fine, but I suffered a lot of disapproving comments from other Mum's who had stayed at home until their children had all started school. The only thing that is a shame is I get to see so little of them during the week - I drop them off a 8 in the morning, and pick them up at 6 a night, where they are ready for a bottle and bed by 7 (they are soooo tired by then!!)

Sorry, I don't quite get the codes, needless to say I can't quick text! Anyway I have non-id twin boys aged 2 3/4 and another boy aged 6 weeks who has just been sick on me again so now in pyjamaa - any excuse! Having one baby is much easier than two.

Has anyone got any tips on how to walk with three at this age? Am at home and walk the twins to pre-school twice a week, cannot park and want to walk. Boys are good walkers but there is a busy road on the way. At the moment boys are in a McLAren and baby is in a sling - it is not going to work for much longer!!

earlysbird · 17/10/2006 20:22

Vickyplus3 - If the boys are good walkers then you could get them to walk along holding on to either side of a single buggy. Whenever I take my 2 out, they always end up wanting to walk and know that they can't unless they hold on to the buggy, one on each side - they do it automatically now, have done so for 6 months or so and will be 3 in Dec, so similar age to yours. Hope that helps, if not, sorry, no other ideas!

toomanypushchairs · 17/10/2006 21:49

Hi, haven't posted in ages. Can't beleive how big some of your twins have got!

things have got easier since dt's have been at playgroup 5 sessions a week!

vickyplus3 · 18/10/2006 19:06

Thanks Earlysbird, I think I am going to try with one walking and holding on tomorrow and put the baby and other twin in the Maclaren. The 'busy road' does not have a wide enough pavement for them to walk either side and to be honest I don't think I could cope with the stress. Maybe taking it in turns to walk alongside the buggy will get the message across and by Spring will walk with the single pram.

earlysbird · 18/10/2006 19:39

Sounds tricky, glad I don't have more then the DTs! Good luck

VintageV · 18/10/2006 20:54

Hi,

Just joined, have triplet girls aged 2years and 7 months, live in the London area. I'm 34.

throckenholt · 19/10/2006 10:57

vickyplus3 - another option would be a backpack for the little once he is too big for the sling, and the twins walk - one for each hand.

I have been wondering the same about when my baby is born...DTs will be just 2.........I had thought a sling and the Maclaren- does anyone know if you can fit a buggy board onto a double Maclaren?

fifihall · 21/11/2006 23:17

Hi Harrogate Mum,

I had a buggy board on my double Maclaren. There were two years between my daughter and the twins. It was the Universal buggyboard. It worked quite well because you could stand to one side when you pushed the buggy and not keep tripping over the board. Hope this helps. FiFi

MarsLady · 21/11/2006 23:51

Hi fifihall

Why don't you pop over to the D'y ever wonder thread and say hi to us all. (Bet you're already there and I haven't noticed yet lol)

harrogatemum · 22/11/2006 15:04

oooh thanks fifihall - is the universal one the most popular one, I havent even looked at them yet!
